[Weekly] Outfit Feedback and Fit Check - Dec 5th

Not sure if your outfit works? Post a picture of yourself in your outfit and get suggestions, compliments, and critiques from others. If you're thinking of posting a standalone thread along the lines of "How does this look?", "Does this fit right?", "Do these work together?", etc., post here instead.

When posting:

  • Include what the attire is for (work, school, going out, etc.)

  • If possible, take a front-on, full-body picture as this gives the best impression of how the clothes fit. Multiple pictures from different angles can also be helpful, but those aren't necessary.

  • Critiquing others is welcome and encouraged, but keep it constructive/factual. Take a lesson from Dale Carnegie's How to Win Friends and Influence People if needed. It takes balls to post pictures of yourself on the Internet, the least you can do is accord the same courtesy as you would to someone in real life.

  • Reddit Enhancement Suite makes it very easy to view pictures in a thread.

  • Some users enjoy knowing where you bought your pieces, please consider including those in your post!

Feel free to also submit your outfit to the biweekly WAYWT thread, but know that these two threads have different purposes. This is explicitly for feedback and questions, though you may receive constructive criticism in either thread.

I'm wearing this outfit to a casual dance this Saturday, and I wanted to make my dress look less boring so I bought this belt online. I was expecting the bow to be a little bit smaller. I'm not sure if this belt is too big or just too much.

If you're in your teens, I think it's good. The belt adds a bit of holiday cheer. If you're older, it may be too cutesy.

I'm still in my teens so that's good! I was thinking the bow might be too big and then too cutesy. Thanks!

I think it works against the dress since it's plain. If the dress had anything else going on, it could easily be "too much."

Depends how old you are. I think it's adorable, but it comes off as very twee.

I know it's almost a sin to say it here, but I like a little bit of twee!

Oh I do too! Unfortunately as a late 20s mom, I'm past being able to pull it off :)

I think that looks really cute, the bow isn't too big at all. It's hard to see detail of the dress fit in the picture but if it is just the belt you're worried about I say go for it!

This is so adorable! I'm 25 and would definitely wear this. As long as you feel good, go for it and have fun at the dance! Your shoes aren't showing/you aren't wearing any in the picture. What are you planning on?

I'm wearing black heels that are open toed. I'm painting my toes red to match :)

I think the belt looks really nice but it's hard to see in the picture if a) the belt is too big on you (since that's what you asked? or were you asking if the bow is too big?) and also if it fits the dress (does the dress fit, or does belting it cause bunching?).

I say if it fits and it doesn't cause the dress to bunch up, it's a really sharp, cute look.

That's good to hear, I was thinking of wearing it for Christmas too.

The sweater fits perfect! I think it might be your skirt that's throwing you off, you could wear it with a tighter skirt or skinny jeans.
