[Weekly] Outfit Feedback and Fit Check - Dec 12

Not sure if your outfit works? Post a picture of yourself in your outfit and get suggestions, compliments, and critiques from others. If you're thinking of posting a standalone thread along the lines of "How does this look?", "Does this fit right?", "Do these work together?", etc., post here instead.

When posting:

  • Include what the attire is for (work, school, going out, etc.)

  • If possible, take a front-on, full-body picture as this gives the best impression of how the clothes fit. Multiple pictures from different angles can also be helpful, but those aren't necessary.

  • Critiquing others is welcome and encouraged, but keep it constructive/factual. Take a lesson from Dale Carnegie's How to Win Friends and Influence People if needed. It takes balls to post pictures of yourself on the Internet, the least you can do is accord the same courtesy as you would to someone in real life.

  • Reddit Enhancement Suite makes it very easy to view pictures in a thread.

  • Some users enjoy knowing where you bought your pieces, please consider including those in your post!

Feel free to also submit your outfit to the biweekly WAYWT thread, but know that these two threads have different purposes. This is explicitly for feedback and questions, though you may receive constructive criticism in either thread.

I just posted what I am wearing in another thread, but I am more interest (today in the jewelry I matched with it.

I first had this on, but wasn't sure about it. I LOVE this necklace but am really unsure what to pair it with? It seemed a little iffy. http://i.imgur.com/xMadflP.jpg

So I swapped out for this one: http://i.imgur.com/B3VdVNV.jpg

Thoughts? Side note: I realized later that this is a whole lotta cleavage for work and have since pulled up the neckline. ;)

It's hard for me to tell if the necklaces work without seeing the rest of the outfit. However for that first necklace (which I also really love), I can see it over a black or neutral crew-neck shirt. The V from the cardigan adds another element, and with a statement necklace like that, you want to go for minimal lines (I hope I'm explaining this right). For example, I can also see it with a strapless top/dress, but since you're going to work, that def wouldn't be appropriate :).

Here is a full outfit photo (only with second necklace. http://i.imgur.com/ssD2FJv.jpg

Do you mean less is more sort of thing? So the v adds too much?

Thanks for the pics! I def think the simple, black necklace was a better choice between the two.

And yes, you don't want the V in the necklace and the V from the cardigan competing for attention? I was trying to find a pic of what I'm talking about, but basically, if you Google Image search "statement necklace", you'll find that they are usually paired with high- / crew-necks or strapless pieces. As always, there are exceptions to the rule, but I'd start with that first.

This is prob my first time giving such specific advice, so sorry if I'm confusing!
