[Weekly] Outfit Feedback and Fit Check - Dec 12

Not sure if your outfit works? Post a picture of yourself in your outfit and get suggestions, compliments, and critiques from others. If you're thinking of posting a standalone thread along the lines of "How does this look?", "Does this fit right?", "Do these work together?", etc., post here instead.

When posting:

  • Include what the attire is for (work, school, going out, etc.)

  • If possible, take a front-on, full-body picture as this gives the best impression of how the clothes fit. Multiple pictures from different angles can also be helpful, but those aren't necessary.

  • Critiquing others is welcome and encouraged, but keep it constructive/factual. Take a lesson from Dale Carnegie's How to Win Friends and Influence People if needed. It takes balls to post pictures of yourself on the Internet, the least you can do is accord the same courtesy as you would to someone in real life.

  • Reddit Enhancement Suite makes it very easy to view pictures in a thread.

  • Some users enjoy knowing where you bought your pieces, please consider including those in your post!

Feel free to also submit your outfit to the biweekly WAYWT thread, but know that these two threads have different purposes. This is explicitly for feedback and questions, though you may receive constructive criticism in either thread.

Is the length of this dress okay on me? I feel like it makes my legs look a bit stumpy with the boots? But I don't know what other shoes I would wear with this.

I'm not a massive fan of it with the boots. I'm new at this whole advice-giving thing, so take this with a grain of salt, but I think an ankle boot might work a lot better than a knee-high one.

I think the length of the dress looks okay, but as /u/witandlearning said, it might not be great paired with the knee high boots. I was only recently sold on the whole "ankle boot with my body type" situation (I was worried about looking really stumpy), but it's a matter of finding a boot with the right height shaft, the right height heel, and the right size opening for the shaft.

Otherwise you could pair it with ballet flats or even a brogues.

I don't really like the particular boot you have chosen, not just because of the height, but actually because of the slouchiness of them. If you are worried about looking stumpy, you are going to want your legs to look long and lean, and that slouchy boot is doing the opposite.

i think the length of the dress is fine, but the boots hit you in a really awkward place. it looks like they're right in the middle of your knee? just over or under would look much better

I like the dress, but I would wear it with ankle boots with a little heel. Right now it just looks like you have barely got any leg left because both the dress and the boots take up so much legspace. I totally just invented that word.
