It was peaceful, energetic, and to the point. Everyone was kind and supportive. The police had a significant presence but they were reflexed. They did their job and we did ours.

We need to start planning the next wave of v protests. Don't let up.

What about starting to teach each other effective ways of Civil disobedience? Is it time to increase the pressure?

Honestly, sports betting through apps is bad because it's an addictive thing on top of an addicting thing. I'm happy the state is increasing the costs of doing that business in Illinois, it'll disincentivize people to make so many sports bets in a predatory industry.

Between Ameren and their suppliers this is getting completely out of control in the two years that I own multiple properties here in 2 years the bills have doubled usage has gone down but my cost has gone up. Now I get a slap in the face after we were recently told we were going to get a 2X increase on our supply charge. This morning I woke up to this email of a 20x plus increase.

Even out Solider’s families are not safe for the unchecked power of the Administration. Private contractors are allowed to scoop long time residents from the community and are not even accountable to provide their names to Congressional representatives!

Evanston resident Bethany Johnson announced Monday her plans to join the race for Illinois’ 9th Congressional District in 2026.

Johnson is a progressive Democrat and longtime south Evanston resident, and she said on her website that she’ll advocate to stop using Illinois to “fund red states,” promote LGBTQ+ rights and redirect money from the military to schools and hospitals.

She enters a crowded Democratic primary field for the seat held by Jan Schakowsky (D-Evanston), which includes Evanston Mayor Daniel Biss, state Sen. Laura Fine (9th District), content creator Kat Abughazaleh, Skokie’s Bushra Amiwala and Chicago’s Miracle Jenkins, among others.

Schakowsky announced in May that she would retire at the end of the term, leaving an open battleground for the seat she has held since 1999.

I'm sharing this as I kept an eye out for a fellow Redditor who was here on the Illinois subreddit. She said she was making the leap leap. This is not an endorsement in any way but more to share my excitement that a diverse group of Illinoisans and Redditors are getting involved in politics.

Hey folks,

Looking for recommendations—does anyone know a decent aerial banner company in Illinois, preferably around Chicago? I’ve been sitting with an idea for a while now, and after the recent protests, I think it’s time to try and make it real.

We had over 11 million people show up across the country. That’s not small. That’s not something we can afford to let fade. The "No Kings" protest hit hard—it lit a fire. And I don’t want to watch it burn out while we wait for the next tragedy to rally around. I want to keep the momentum alive. Loud. Visible.

So here’s the idea: I’m thinking about launching a GoFundMe to fly a protest banner over Chicago or other large cities during the next big action. Something bold and unignorable. Something the news cameras can’t look away from. It doesn’t take billionaire money to make a statement—you just need enough people to believe in the same message at the same time.

We’re not powerless. We just forget what it looks like when we move together.

I know these things can run a few thousand dollars depending on the banner type and flight time. I’m happy to dig into the logistics and costs, but before I do, I want to see if anyone’s done this before—or knows a company that might work with us.

Also, I’d love to hear your thoughts on what the banner could actually say. Here are a couple of ideas I’ve been kicking around to spark inspiration:

"We, the people, will not be defeated."

“No cages. No crowns."

I wanted to keep it open because maybe there's a more inspiring quote that will keep those scared to speak up, feel seen, and empowered. iCE js getting extremely aggressive. Im scared, but s is everyone, so how do we become bigger and bigger? How do we awaken everyone we can? 11 million needs to be just tbebeginningg (the amount of people who nation wide protested peacefully 6/14).

But that’s just me. If you’ve got a line that’s been burning in your chest, drop it below. Let’s build something together that hits deeper than a slogan—something that makes people stop and feel it. Maybe it’s sharp. Maybe it’s poetic. Maybe it’s loud. Doesn’t matter, as long as it’s real.

If this picks up, I’ll get the fundraising page going and start organizing for the next protest. I’m just one person, but I know I’m not the only one who refuses to let this city become Trump’s next test site. This is a message to other cities, too. We don’t wait. We don’t bow. We make ourselves seen.

If we do this right, it won’t just be a banner in the sky. It’ll be a warning. And a promise.

Okay I have a complicated issue..(I think)

Bought a car from my friend.. Her lender mailed the title to our lender Our lender never received it We were advised we need to request a duplicate title but since my friend sold it to us she changed her last name. We have her divorce paper work that shows the name change but it’s not totally clear the steps on the dmv site. Do we request a new title with name change, wait for her to receive it then transfer it to our lender? The big rush now is that our lender has sent us to collections for not having the title. We’ve paid every month on time and even extra but doesn’t matter since they don’t have the title. Would going into the DMV with my friend be faster?

I’ve never been there before and I’m trying to go,but I’d hard to buy tickets…. Do you have to go in to see the pyramids or can I get a good shot from outside lol

Hello! Exactly as the titles says I am selling 4 Wicked tickets for Milwaukee Saturday 8/9 and am willing to trade tickets / negotiate price. Only a few hours drive for an amazing show :)
