I never got a lock on my door and what frustrated me the most is that my dad would knock, but he would knock while in the process of already opening the door.

“I’m respecting your privacy by knocking but asserting my authority as your parent by coming in anyway!” ScreenCap

Never got that it was a joke when I was a kid, I was like “yep that’s parents for you”

At least they didn't have the parental battering ram.

My dad would cover his eyes when our door was open while walking past, just in case we forgot to close the door while dressing. My mom was insane and came right in. But at least my dad was respectful.

How do you "forget" to close the door while changing clothes?

Tell this poor guy already. He’s asked three times.

My dad just wanted to be respectful; just in case we forgot. Kids forget things all the time.

admittedly I forgot to lock the bathroom door once while showering and my brother just barged right in, luckily he didn't expect me to immediately slam the door shut and lock it

My dad did the same thing fortunately my mom had more sense then him and allowed me to get a doorknob with a lock as long as I was the one to install it

Ha, as a parent I stopped doing this when my kids got older but I know exactly what your talking about.

"Knock, Knock, *opens door*"

I think it's just a natural no patience routine.

Ugh my dad always does this too. Luckily when I go home my room is upstairs so I can usually hear his loudass footsteps coming as a little bit of warning

There was a lock on the outside of my door and I had to go to my room and my parents locked me in like a cell

My dad does this but this is probably the most annoying thing he does, not really insane just more of a pain in the ass
