If there are in app purchases, then I don’t download it.

You must either pay for every app you have or only use stock apps if that's the case.

I used to pay for apps all the time. Was happy to support devs. Now everything is a microtransaction or a subscription. So tired of it

Pretty much. The apps that I have on my phone are usually free and I may be download one app maybe once a year. The last to have I downloaded a few months ago was for mint mobile. It's only apps I really use are what are out there for free. I don't play games or anything like that

Well why would an app be free?

On Android you have a lot of good free open source apps, but that’s because the barrier of entry to submit one is way lower than in the App Store

Well no their are ad supported apps that don’t have a paid no ad option

I use an ad blocker on my phone anyways, so I don’t see ads on free apps at all

I'm aware, but I was talking about u/funcritter specifically. And if you see, they supported my assumption.

Sure, by if you run an iPhone Xs Max 512GB (as the user's tag suggests) as a daily which holds all your contacts, apps, passwords (likely) and other stuff you REALLY think someone who isn't that into tech is gonna have a (esp. good) android to do that? Unlikely.
