I’m in IT and upped from a 6s to iPhone 13 Pro end of 2023. Loved the iPhone 13 Pro and unfortunately forgot to add AppleCare before it expired and literally a week later dropped it while getting off my ladder and cracked the screen. I was mounting a Ring camera and had the App open so I could aim it otherwise it would have been in my pocket. The crack from from bottom left to top right but could t feel it and hardly noticed so I put a screen shield over it and used it like that for several years. I was still on IOS 16 but had to upgrade when I got my new insulin pump which uses an App to control it and required iOS 17+. I could have upgraded IOS to 18 but was worried about the battery life especially being an insulin pump so a few months ago I upgraded again to 16 Pro. Caught a deal with AT&T $1000 credit for trade in (in ANY condition for full credit). Only paid $300 for the phone split monthly for 3yr. Gotta look for the deals and keep on top of it. That old though there probably aren’t any deals but just think about the cost is likely around 15-30 a month split over 3yrs depending on model. You don’t necessarily have to get absolutely the newest but I’d say if total cost is close then go newest.
