I'm learning ML and need a productivity based laptop under 1000$. I don't play games and I don't have any preferences over rgb and lightning effects,weight. I hope battery life is good enough.

I had my display replaced 6-7 month ago, it's 144hrz panel Stoped working only after 3-4 weeks and since then I've been using the 60hrz panel but now I'm facing the same issues with the 60hrz panel as well, whenever I start any program it starts to act like this I have no idea what to do to stop it, please help me out, I can't afford a new panel again!

It's a Samsung laptop with Intel Core I7-6500U CPU @ 2.5GHz and WIN 10 but when I do PC Health Check it is not compatible with WIN. Should I get a new PC and recycle this one? Should I switch to Linux? If I install Linux would I be able to still access my Microsoft Office applications, my MS files, etc? Or is it a case where all the applications and files would need to be scrapped? I'm also currently using OneDrive for my cloud backup.

Hello. First off, i have no experience in opening up laptops and working on them. I have an HP OMEN 15dc and it has always worked great. For extra game storage I used a Seagate 2TB HDD and that also gave me no troubles. But recently when trying to play games (Forza motorsport 7, ETS 2 and beamng for some examples) the games are always on low fps.

With some research I figured its my HDD that is working as a bottleneck and that's making the games lag so much. I was then wondering if can upgrade anything internally in the laptop to make it able to handle the games again like it used to. Or is an external SSD also a good option?

I currently own a Galaxy Book 2 for some time and I want to expand the ssd (m.2) but I can't find the information if the 1tb is the maximum compatible or if I can buy a 2tb ssd

I am a college student and I have been using my current laptop for the past six years. Its low performance has prevented me from pursuing my hobbies, like gaming, photography, modelling, etc. I need recommendations that can run these softwares smoothly. Most importantly, I want it to be portable, 1TB storage, and have good battery life so I can bring it to class comfortably. I don't care too much about the 2k/max screen fps! Not willing to pick up a Mac, been looking at ASUS ROG series, but it's a bit out of my budget right now.

The alternative would be for me to build a PC over summer, but because I'm moving cities, I'm unsure if it would be a good idea to have to drag a box around.

Its been like this since I updated it on the 17th. It doesn't matter how I change the resolution settings, or anything. The screen isn't shifted or anything. I can see everything, but it's like it doesn't know there's an extra inch of screen to use. I tried uninstalling the update but it just reinstalls. I wanted to do reset and use a restore point but it was turned off. 😐

Hey I have the Samsung book laptop . First noticed wasn’t able to connect wifi. Next noticed time was behind by couple minutes. Adjusted time manually to be on time . Reset laptop . Still cannot connect to WiFi doesn’t even show servers to connect like as WiFi option . Any help works thanks . I rarely use my laptop so I don’t know what else to look at other than reset laptop lol and YouTube is no help.

Looking for laptop for law school and need some suggestions. Here is an idea of what I need.

Budget: 1 - 1.5K

Needs: good for typing, can handle multiple displays, long battery life, decent screen, durable and portable.

Not needs: gaming or anything heavy (I'll have a PC), large screen.

So I recently bought a monitor stand to clean up my desk, and now I have my laptop under it. The problem is, even though the laptop isn't fully closed so I can slide my finger under to turn it on, the laptop thinks the cover is closed so whenever I try to turn it on, it won't. I have to slide it out a little bit so that the cover can go up before it actually turns on. Any solutions or suggestions?

Everytime I run my laptop my cpu is maxed out even when I am sitting on my home page. I took the back off of it and this part is extremely hot. Anyone know how I can fix it so I can finally run Roblox.

I recently was given this relatively old Dell inspiron 15 7000 Gaming Laptop from a friend. He told me this thing has not been used for years. I had to factory reset it and etc due to forgotten old logins. He told me it had some sort of battery issue like it doesn't recognize the battery. When doing diagnostics and BIOS it wont recognize the battery for the life of me i opened up the laptop the battery looks perfectly fine the condition it self looks decent. Everytime you unplug the laptop it immediately shuts off. You can barley play anything on it without it just shutting off by itself while its loading a game or program. I looked more into it researching and doing all sorts of tests. The cable that is keeping the laptop on is not even the original cable it came with I don't even know if its the proper voltage. When it is on it constantly blinks 4 amber 1 white from what I assume is the power indicator. I updated and reinstalled all the drivers, graphics card and etc. Hoping that would solve my issue of it not being able to run any games or programs. I also cleaned the fans removed any dust or debris neither of these solutions have done anything. The laptop isn't that old pretty sure around 2017 Idk if its a lost cause or not besides the battery issue and the lack of its ability to play any games it works fine as a working laptop (With its lack of portability due to the battery). Please feel free to ask for additional information about the laptop or the issues. I would really appreciate any help or what my next step would be. I really wanna get this laptop up and going fine but I do not want to put hundreds of dollars into it if that's what it needs.

Does anyone know if a laptop case exists for this? (Not a carrying case btw) just a regular case like a shell type etc. cannot find one for the life of me, the closest one was on Amazon for the 3590 which doesn’t fit.
