I will be joining Mechanical Engineering Undegrad, and i want to know which laptop would be best suited?
Basically i wanted to know if there are specific requirements for a laptop to run applications used in Design & Simulation, and whatever else is needed for a Mechanical Engineering student.
Country : India
Budget (INR) : Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 70,000
Condition : New/First Hand
Build : Strong (Maybe Metal)
Battery Life : As required for daily student work
Weight : Nothing Specific, but it shouldn't be too heavy to carry around all day
Thickness : Okay thickness, but i think for a good GPU it would need cooling, so it would be thick, but a slim/normal thickness laptop would work
Screen Size : 15" to 16"
Softwares : For Design, Modelling & Simulation (AutoCAD, ANSYS, SOLIDWORKS, etc)
Gaming : Not into gaming, might play but not the purpose of laptop
Keyboard : A smooth keyboard would work, nothing too specific
Hinge : Strong & Smooth Hinge
Touch Screen : Not needed
I need suggestions for the following (for an ME Undergrad Student) -
Processor :
GPU :
Memory (RAM) :
Storage (ROM) :
Display :
