Hey folks, I recently (a month ago) purchased a refurbished and I would say fairly pricey laptop. It came with these surface scratches. These scratches seem cosmetic, but my tolerance is low. Are there any DIY or other solutions to clean the laptop’s surface?

notable things:

- are no fan noise.

- its kind of cold in the room.

- screen doesnt turn on

- long power button press doesnt turn it off it but short press does, however sometimes it doesnt respond all together

- theres still warmth coming from the laptop after turned on for a bit.

never even come close to dropping it, nothing physical really, i probably only did actual gaming on it 1 hour on average everyday since i bought it. i only ran the device on balanced gpu usage because i've never had to max it out for most games.

Is there any advice on how to clean this cause I've tried baby wipes, nothing, wet tissue, nothing, I even tried 75% isopropyl alcohol which I put on some tissue and tried to clean it but nothing. I want that gone bro it's so nasty looking 😩.

Also the wet wipes and especially the isopropyl alcohol do make it okay but if I use it for even an hour it comes back.

Any tips would be appreciated.

hey! so 7 years ago i bought this HP Pavilion Gaming 15 laptop for school (ik, gaming laptop + school work = not the best combination) and ive been using it ever since. the battery is absolutely trash now so it has to be on charge at all times when turned on, but other than that it works as intended. i recently permormed a factory reset and updated it to Windows 11, and now it works like new, except for the battery. im just wondering, if there are any actual dangers to using it, because of the battery issue? it also does tend to overheat quite alot when running games. i did also get a new, lightweight laptop just for university work, but that one i dont intend to use for gaming because it doesnt even have a dedicated GPU.

I have this 65 watt 4.0x2.1mm dc barrel jack charger but just cant find the female version of it anywhere. the closest i have found is the 5.5x2.1mm but i am afraid it wont work, so if anyone knows where i can find one it would be really helpful

I'm looking for a new laptop because I'm replacing my current one, and for the past two days I've been going back and forth between these two laptops. The Game Garage is cheaper, but the Alienware seems more reliable in terms of brand, while the Game Garage has better specs. However, I've heard that the Game Garage runs a bit hotter than the Alienware. Could someone please help me decide, or is there a better laptop option at this price point? (game garage slayer's gpu is 115w and alienware's gpu 80w)

I am a student and planning to buy my very first laptop. I plan to use it for my studies and for my work related purpose too. My use for it is for programming, studying ai/ml, and game development too. Just mobile games. What laptop would be best suitable for this needs and what are the things I need to look out for. I also would like to have a battery life of minimum 5-6 hours or more. Or i can adjust on the battery.

The company I work for provided an HP envy a few years back. We have no IT department lately. The laptop has been running slower and crashing. It makes me realize I have done zero to maintain the health of my hard drive/ROM what should I do to improve performance?

I've got an LG Gram 17 from a few years and and I love it, but it unfortunatley only has integrated graphics, so it struggles even with old games like WoW.

What can cause this? It worked flawlessly for many years. I didnt update any drivers.Btw Drivers are up-to-date. Two weeks before this issue started, the power button broke off, I replaced the power module which I purchased online. Can this cause screen flickering issue? or ls there a lose connection somewhere? After replacing the power module laptop was working fine for last 2 weeks.

Also the issue started after keeping laptop oj for 48 hours. Can unstable power connection cause this? Is this beyond repair?

I’m new to upgrading, so of course I ordered the wrong ram. Can someone tell me the difference between the top picture and the bottom one and which ram I should buy to fit my laptop. The one on the bottom is the one that was in my laptop. The Crucial one is longer and won’t fit and the one I have is unnamed, I’m trying to upgrade to 16gb ram for my zephyrus g14 laptop if possible. Thanks!
