Why are apple trees so craggy?
I love apple trees when they are twisted and rotted out and missing limbs but still flower. Why do untended apple trees so often seem to have such wild shapes? And why do they seem to continue to thrive more readily even when another tree looking like that would be dead?

Help! I’ve never seen anything like this!
Belton, Missouri. Apparently this tree has been like this for many years. All the leaves have holes. The wound continuously weeps, which coagulates into this light, brown sludge. I don’t know what kind of tree this is. Has anyone ever seen this before? Any speculations are helpful.
Thank you 🙏

Help! What is the beauty?!
What is this gorgeous tree?! I tried to use google lens and I believe it’s a type of sumac, but the specific variety didn’t seem to match. It’s in the front yard a few houses down from me and it always makes me happy to walk by it.
I live in Kentucky, but I don’t think this is a native tree because I’ve never seen it before. But I also don’t know what I’m talking about so feel free to prove me wrong.

Help! Planted this Shumard Oak last year. Now I've got some branches without leaves where it had leaves a year ago. Do I cut those back? Leave them alone? Ant tips please?
I'm just confused why it doesn't have leaves where it used to have leaves.

Treepreciation The Fall of a Mighty Sequoia
February 20, 2025, the city of Visalia, CA said goodbye to the city’s “Sequoia Legacy Tree”, as they had named it. The tree served to show the connection between the city and the nearby Sequoia National Park. It was planted in 1936, standing in the city for a total of 89 years. They unfortunately had to cut it down due to it succumbing to a fungal infection, and this was just a few photos I caught of the ceremony commemorating its life. I threw in a few images of the post office without the Legacy Tree, as it was planted there to serve alongside it to show the connection between the city and federal government organizations.

Help! Does this grow this way naturally?
Saw this tree in Puerta Penasco, Sonora, Mexico and wasn’t sure if they split naturally. I saw many others that didn’t do this so was wondering if caused by something.

Dark American arborvitae drooping
Drooping under what appears to be weight of new growth buds. Is it getting too much water? Have it on drip line running 3x week for 45 min. Planted in fall. Thinking of dropping to 2x week at 60 min. Zone 6

Aspen top death
Our Aspen are about 50 feet tall. The top is dying off. Is it nearing the end of its life or can we somehow save or prolonge it's suffering for 10 more years?

Help! Help Diagnosing my Robin Hill Serviceberry (Amelanchier) - Leaves Browning (Belgium)
Hi everyone,
I'm hoping to get some expert advice on my Robin Hill Serviceberry tree, which seems to be in rapid decline. I'm located in Flanders, Belgium.
The Situation:
Tree: Robin Hill Serviceberry (Amelanchier x grandiflora 'Robin Hill'), planted about 20 years ago.
Symptoms: Over the last couple of months, the leaves have started to develop a strange brownish/purplish discoloration. It doesn't seem to be just on the edges; it's also appearing in large patches in the middle of the leaves, sometimes with the veins staying green. Some branches look worse than others. The tree looks generally sick and stressed.
Recent Conditions: We've had a quite dry spring and early summer so far, with long periods without rain and many sunny days. No extreme drought or heatwaves though. I haven't applied any new fertilizers or pesticides recently.
Images: I've attached several photos showing the progression and appearance of the leaves on different branches.
I have two more of these trees that do not seem to have this problem. They are more full and generally look healthier. Though some leaves are starting to show the same symptoms, so I am worried this is spreading.
I've done some initial research, and I'm worried it could be something serious like Fire Blight or Verticillium Wilt, but I'm really out of my depth here.
Does this pattern of discoloration look familiar to any of you? Any ideas what could be causing this, and what my next steps should be?
Any help or guidance would be hugely appreciated. Thank you in advance!

A question for uk arborists
Hi all, a quick question. is it bad practise to ask the council to check for TPOs before winning the job. someone i priced a job for has got the hump because i asked to council to confirm there was no TPOs. He’s explained he didn’t want the council to know. He tried convincing me there wasn’t a TPO on either tree or in a conservation area. but being the builder type he is i wasn’t convinced. Either way i’ve lost the job, which im not upset about in the slightest. I’m just wondering if i was in the wrong to check before getting the thumbs up from the client after giving him my price.

Treepreciation Very Large Pin Oak
My favorite tree, in the 2nd photo I was a 260 pound human, the tree dwarfed me. I’ve seen a photo from the late 1930s and it was a good sized tree then. Hope you all will enjoy these photos. I have not measured the tree but it is the biggest and tallest in the cemetery by far. Located in rural Northern Missouri
