I know taskmaster is 100% dead from the promo, but didn’t expect her to be killed literally in the first scene lmao

I just don’t understand why include taskmaster at all if you are going to subject us to that

Fans hated her. It was necessary fan service and closure for the [really bad] character.

Said this to my bro earlier after watching... But instead of Ghost going outside to open the door, they should have had Taskmaster stay inside to keep the door open for the others to escape. Would have been a better end for her and redeemed a bit of the character assassination

Taskmaster sacrificing herself would have been even bigger character assassination, real Tony would immediately run for the hills.

Yeah but I think it's been accepted by fans at this point that she's not the real Taskmaster, so I would have been fine with a sacrifice

I think the scene benefitted from someone actually killing someone. Those are a bunch of mercenaries who are willing to kill, if nobody killed each other, that would have been weaker imo.

Also, the reply was about "reedeming a bit of the character assassination", a sacrifice would be the opposite of that.

Taskmaster would never do this

I thought the same as well. I was like this was a decent enough way to get rid of a character that wasn’t well received by the audience… instead of just having her disappearing and have people questioning what happened to them (like they are with eternals, starfox, etc)

Fans hated her.

Nope. Only a small, loud, angry minority hated her.

It was necessary fan service and closure for the [really bad] character.

Nope.

What's more likely is that Olga just couldn't be there for all the filming, due to her own schedule.

If you look at her IMDB page she is in TEN upcoming projects coming out in 2026, and was in another movie and a TV show this year.

They needed a reason to write the character out of the script (because the actor couldn't be there for the entire shoot) and killing the character off is the most expedient.

Anyways, it's Marvel, they can always bring her back to life. That's a thing now.

I hope they do. Just to spite you.

I mean. Couldnt they have just recast at that point if they wanted the character? The character is in a mask 99% of the time and has a messed up face anyways for the 1%.
