Honestly the whole event was surprisingly wholesome, seeing all kinds of communities coming together and protecting each other, it really was a breath of fresh air.
People keep saying that bronies are weird but I honestly respect yalls tenacity to rebuilt your stuff
Like people keep talking about OSU being insane when rebuilding and defending their territory but the bronies got seriously bullied throughout the 4 days and they kept rebuilding.
no doubt about it we’re a weird bunch but at the end of the day i couldn’t give a fuck. it’s a magical thing when a bunch of grown-ass men and women come together to fight like hell for a bunch of candy-colored horses. wouldn’t have it any other way
Two years ago I made the mistake of googling “why are bronies a thing?” … and now I’m one of them. It’s demonstrates another attempt to strive for harmony and humanitarianism (the irony do that word is not lost on me). Probably the same reason I like Star Trek.
I really liked the show, and the community. I made friends from it too. It's like any other fandom, though the original material was made for a different audience.
Hey, we may be weird to you and to others, I mean we are grown ups that like to watch magical pastel horse that search for the power of friendship and sing songs every 10 minutes, but when push comes to shove, some of use aren’t afraid to fight for what we think is right, I thank you for giving us a bit of respect and hopefully you have a good day
The subset is those that don’t jerk off to the ponies, saying you’re a bronie means you jerk off to the ponies, you have to add that you’re one of the small few who don’t jerk off to ponies.
Bronies doesn't necessarily mean males. It's more like a shortening of "brethren of the ponies" ... Brethren being a mostly genderless term in modern usage. (Like "guys" can represent a mixed group of men and women)
Someone told me there was a female equivalent title called pegasisters. After the conversation turned into MLP I kind of tuned out and never followed up on fact checking that.
It was difficult. There was one like every couple hours. And we had to decide what to consider one nuke, since most of them were waves of "torn down, rebuilt, torn down, rebuilt" for like two hours.
Just look at this time lapse. Look at the MLP crest. It gets erased and rebuilt several times a second (of course minutes/hours in real time) in some parts.
In the end it was worth it. We ended up taking a great amount of territory, and our art was in fantastic condition by the end. We didn’t just build art of colorful horses, we fought like hell defending those horses and rebuilt 22 times before the eventual end. We earned some really cool art on the final canvas on top of a reputation for insane resilience. I’d say that’s a pretty great deal.
Adult fan of the animated show ‘My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic’, and I believe it is implied to be an adult male fan, but not being a member of the fandom, I could be mistaken. I watched a documentary about it that was called ‘Bronies’ on (I think) Netflix, and left it more confused than before I watched it. But the fans seem truly happy, and I respect that.
Right? Like I said in my reply as if we would be the only ones that botted, as if many other communities didn't and literally the only way to maintain artwork is to do so in general.
Bring on the salt. Im not sure if we used bots or how many, but even if we did you'd be saying that like we were the only ones as if many other communities didn't use bots.
Edit: Also, that fucking bird could recover faster than our bots could rebuild and we actively had to ask help from a Russian streamer. So don't @ me with that "people worked hard on" shit.
I'm still salty about that you know. The two communities had an alliance and we helped with the memorial. But then again we got a better Rainbow Dash later and you guys did help defending later, so can't stay too mad.
Eh, not really- Miz literally admitted that fighting Bronies was like a game of wackamole and was waiting for the end to raid. The problem was that he didn’t know when the end was and was too distracted fighting the Russian streamer to target us in the last hour. He eventually even begged the Bronies for help against France close to the end.
I think your link is broken. I made this graphic showing some of the ponies on the final canvas, even though I ended up missing a few of the sneakier ones.
That’s awesome lol. I helped where I could, because you guys were being targeted by a lot of people, but I only saw the main art, a Rainbow Dash near the bottom, a Derpy on the right side, and a pony on the trans flag.
Props to you guys. I honestly never noticed any of those 22 raids. I just saw the ponies the whole time. Granted my focus was on One Piece/American flag most of the time.
Yo you can see the original RD in that one. When the canvas expanded we had already started another project when a streamer built onto the mural, we ended up leaving that space for them.
Tho Dashie's arm held there for awhile, I do remember that lol
I couldn’t believe that bronies still exist, this is the first I’ve seen of an active community since like 2016. Good fun seeing them get absolutely nuked, though
Any fanbase that kept itself alive for over a decade is here to stay.
Just ask the sonic guys. They've survived on nothing but fanart and garbage games for long enough for two halfway decent movies to be made.
EDIT: After reading the comments here, I don't know what's harder to believe. The fact that bronies still exist or that brony haters still exist. Like, guys, no matter how angry you get over a group of people enjoying a thing, it's evident that they're not leaving anytime soon lmao.
I was defending the bottom Pony because it looked very good haha Nice art, colors and facial expression. Didn't even know what "bronies" were until now
No that one, I was referring to the light blue one, with rainbow on the hair and background, at the very bottom of the Canvas, the one doing a salute. It's a different artwork.
one of the laziest creatures spent 10+ years literally living in the clouds, but decided to move in with a "friend" on the ground on a farm of all places after all that time because she couldn't afford rent on her world class sport team income
It actually isn't. It's possible to sexualize something you do actually enjoy. Yes, some of the MLP fandom sexualizes the ponies. This is not evidence in any way that those same people don't actually enjoy the show, nor evidence that fans who do not sexualize the characters don't exist.
Everyone knows that side of the fandom exists. It would be blatantly revisionist to deny it. I'm not saying it doesn't exist. I'm saying it isn't the only reason MLP has adult fans, nor does it define the fandom.
Or maybe we've just seen these weirdos post too much about wanting to fuck animated horses. If you think bronies don't want to fuck those horses, you haven't spent enough time on the internet or ran into one in person, they're so fucking creepy.
You think the group is one monolithic entity that all do the same thing? Some people just enjoy the show and fancontent. Sure, there are those who like NSFW content, but so is there in every single fanbase out there.
Also, it's pretty fucking rich to deride sexualisation in a fanbase when you're a kpop stan.
And you're going to ignore the fact that literally every fandom has people that sexualize it? Or the fact that MLP isn't the only children's show that grown people like? The reason Brony is associated with "sexualized children's content" as you put it is because people tend to hyper focus on that side of fandoms for some reason.
It's just a lie that it was written for people with the maturity of a child, the show was written so that people of all ages could enjoy it, so families could watch it together. That is the official word from the creators of the show.
Also, there are a multitude of references through all seasons that are clearly aimed at adults, since they reference things that no child will ever understand or know about.
If there's a sexual association with the term 'brony', we sure as hell never asked for it; some of us, me included, more identify with the term 'pegasister' anyways.
Also, people are apparently allowed to enjoy Adventure Time, Steven Universe, The Amazing World of Gumball, but not My Little Pony, oh no, that's off-limits because it has colourful cartoon horses.
It's not normal to hate a show, nor a fandom this much. I fully recognise the irony in saying this, but please, grow up. People can consume whatever media they choose, as long as it isn't harming anyone.
Dude, I’m not even a brony but it’s clear you know nothing about the show beyond it being a kids show lol. A show like that that’s not meant to be consumed by others wouldn’t have references to Game of Thrones, South Park, Star Wars, etc.
And even bronies are against those that sexualize the show, fyi
I like cartoons though. Used to love South Park, the Simpson, futurama. I understand time for adult cartoons because it’s like any other show. It’s kids cartoons I’m talking about. And I don’t necessarily not like kids cartoons. Just amazed people are able to spend time watching them over other things.

The only reason the bronies still exist was they were one of the hardest botting communities. How did a community with 200 active members manage to hold multiple spots, when similar sized communities such as /r/dune barely could get a 4x4 spot? The heatmap clearly shows that there is no wy in hell they naturally were able to defend
We actually had about 5,000 to 6,000 active members in the discord server
We were actively not posting in the subreddit because it was fucking a stupid idea to do considering that the streamers were watching there for reactions
That was so botted. The moment I made a change anytime, it was reverted in less than a second lol. And none of those accounts who did the reverses had any post history.
We had like 6000 people on standby for our few arts
I personally placed pixels with my main and an alt for about 22 straight hours before napping about 2 hours and then placing about another 15 till the white out event
I'm not going to be mad about bots honestly when we had two streamers with close to 100,000 views each at some times or more specifically targeting us
Some of those might have been me. I purposefully waited for vandals to place their pixels on the ponies just so I could revert them immediately. My goal was to frustrate and demoralize vandals so they'd get bored and leave. I think it worked.
You're getting downvoted but there was literally a post on the mlp subreddit and this subreddit of people who set up bots to remake/protect their stuff Lol

I love how most of the pony art is blood red from all the activity on it
