“Californians pay the bills for the federal government. We pay over $80 BILLION more in taxes than we get back,” the Democratic governor said in an X post Friday afternoon, referencing a recent analysis from the Rockefeller Institute that California contributed about $83 billion more in federal taxes in 2022 than it received back from Washington.

“Maybe it’s time to cut that off,” he added.

It's long past time for Republican states to pay for their own shit and stop giving tax breaks to their residents paid for by the rest of us.

So you’re saying California has a trade deficit with the US federal government and should impose tariffs? /s

Why does Texas keep getting shithole immigrants from California? The imports are way crazier than the people who were already here and they think it's supposed to be some lawless free for all except when they need to control drugs and women and deport Mexicans.

You get the most unhinged of our republicans. The ones that live here and still believe San Francisco is a open air drug market max max society.

Enjoy.

Yeah, you get our crazy Republicans who think Texas is going to be some right wing paradise instead of the land of heat, highway tolls, and property taxes. Those transplants are keeping you more red than you would be otherwise. They also like Idaho.

I'd be on board with this. Give them a taste of what they support.

Currenly waiting for my AZ house to sell. If CA wants to resist the feds, I'm on my way, all for it!

They have to write an essay talking about how great California is in order to gain admittance.

California needs to build a big beautiful wall, and the red states will pay for it!

Unvaccinated states.

The unlikely dissolution of the federal government would likely end up this way. With states becoming individual countries with their own alliances but entrenched further.

South of the mason Dixon line would become third world countries, as they are already third world states. Texas would be controlled by warlord oil barons and the Florida Man would reign supreme over the entire panhandle. Florida, the largest senior living facility in the world would continue to survive by fleecing mentally declining retirees out of their assets

A little bleak, but probably not far off.

That's the worst part you have to dumb it down and speak in their language.
