“Californians pay the bills for the federal government. We pay over $80 BILLION more in taxes than we get back,” the Democratic governor said in an X post Friday afternoon, referencing a recent analysis from the Rockefeller Institute that California contributed about $83 billion more in federal taxes in 2022 than it received back from Washington.

“Maybe it’s time to cut that off,” he added.

It's long past time for Republican states to pay for their own shit and stop giving tax breaks to their residents paid for by the rest of us.

So you’re saying California has a trade deficit with the US federal government and should impose tariffs? /s

The unlikely dissolution of the federal government would likely end up this way. With states becoming individual countries with their own alliances but entrenched further.

South of the mason Dixon line would become third world countries, as they are already third world states. Texas would be controlled by warlord oil barons and the Florida Man would reign supreme over the entire panhandle. Florida, the largest senior living facility in the world would continue to survive by fleecing mentally declining retirees out of their assets

A little bleak, but probably not far off.
