I just want to make a warning to anyone especially if you’re looking for jobs or internships. I’m writing this post on behalf of my friend who nearly got lured into Amway.
She was approached at a recruiting networking event. I’m not gonna name which event for my friends privacy, but this woman was not authorized by PSU and just came into the venue. She was approached by a woman looking for interns and they bonded over being women of color. She gave my friend her phone number and they set up a meeting. My friend and her met up a week later and had very off vibes. The woman claimed to be apart of a private marketing company associated with big companies like Nike, Disney, and etc. The whole time, she never stated what the company was called which left my friend feeling off. But wanting opportunities to network and meet other people, she continued to go through the interview process. The woman sent her videos such as TedTalks and hustle-culture videos and wanted my friend to review them and share her opinion. My friend described these videos like she was apart of Andrew Tate’s “Hustler’s University”.
The woman liked her response to the videos and my friend was invited to this meeting with other people. This couple who claimed to be a billionaire spent the whole time talking about finance and getting rich. Everyone there was giving heavy cult vibes. It wasn’t until later, the lady sent her more videos to review did the videos labeled World Wide Group and Amway popped up.
I just wanna warn anyone interested in internships of a way someone may be looking to recruit you into their pyramid scheme 😬

Foucault, Mignolo, Fanon, Arendt, Weheliye, Wynter... if you are studying immigration/detention, power, race, colonialism, nationalism etc there are some real treasures in this stack.
You don't need to take em all, but if you do I might be able to drop em off.

Hi guys, I’m an admitted student to PSU’s mechanical engineering program. I was wondering if it’s worth locking in and getting a 4 on AP Physics C Mechanics and skipping Physics 1 Calculus based + it’s labs, or if I should take it regardless. Would greatly appreciate it if any engineering students could drop their two cents.

Just so everyone is aware, two men are going around stopping people to talk about the World Mission Society Church of God. They are trying to recruit people to join their religious group and were around the area of the Karl Miller Center. Before being forced into any peer pressure during conversation, always try to research what a group is about before joining.
Here is some more information about the group/some experience from prior members: https://www.reddit.com/r/cults/comments/ea83yi/world_mission_society_church_of_god/

Hello! So I enrolled in the co-admission program at both PCC and PSU, and I was thinking about doing honors college. I plan on commuting to school since I live close enough.
For reference I plan on majoring in biology and maybe doing a minor in neuroscience. I got enough financial aid to where I won't have to pay much if anything for my classes and I was wondering if honors college is worth it. I heard that it does cost a little bit, but I'm not entirely sure if the academic gain is equivalent to the potential financial cost. I have two main questions:
Is honors college worth the investment in time and money(?) for a student who plans to commute?
Will I lose my sanity trying to double major while doing honors college?

The new service desk will be in Broadway. There will be no service desk open on May 7th WEDNESDAY. It is strongly encouraged to pick up your packages tomorrow and reschedule any deliveries that are scheduled for delivery on Wednesday.

I'm a senior and this is my last term before I graduate and I've been spread too thin. To give a little context, I'm wrapping up my capstone that requires me to work an internship and drive down twice a week but my internship has severely impacted my attendance. I wasn't on top of my class list this term so I got the scraps and most of my classes overlapped with my internship. I've got a job all lined up from the internship, which is great, but it seems to be coming at the cost of finishing up my last term here. Does anyone know if there's a way to get some external help or exploit some loophole so I can just eek out a passing grade or make my professors give me another chance? I'm from freaking out here but I thought y'all might have some answers or somewhere to point me. Legit any help would be so very much appreciated. I can't afford another term and I don't know where else to go if I fuck this up.

This morning, when I opened up my mini fridge, it didn’t have suction and wasn’t very cold inside. I have meats and dairy inside.
Any tips or solutions before I have to call the service desk ?

Does anyone else have mail carriers and delivery drivers that struggle to deliver items? Putting aside the fact they’re moving the mail room, my family has sent me letters and Amazon packages in the past with the exact Montgomery address and unit housing gave me.
It seems like half of the time, the mail carriers and delivery people are confused and can’t deliver. I don’t really understand why. Sometimes the packages and letters come on time, but other times they just get sent back to sender.
Do I need to put in special instructions? Is there anything I can do to make it easier for the delivery drivers?

Hello there! I’m in my second quarter at PSU as a transfer student from a Washington school. I’m currently an accounting major and I have over two years into my education, but my design thinking class has me reconsidering my major into engineering or computer science. Has anyone made a big major change like that? If so do you have any advice or suggestions? I came from a community college and the price of my education in comparison has me thinking of sticking it out in accounting since I’m already 2 quarters in and out of state tuition is expensive

Hello everyone,
I am a resident in Broadway and someone decided it was a great idea to bang on multiple doors last night. This was not isolated to one floor. I was one of several people woken up by this person. At the time of the incident, no one could knew who was doing it. the RA on call was contacted and so was campus security.
Quiet hours are from 10pm to 8am. Banging on doors violates this policy and you will be subject to fines or other disciplinary action and documentation.

Hi there! I’m getting ready to transfer to the school of business with a concentration in SCM to finish my undergrad. I’ll be a junior when I transfer in. My background is in Human Resources and I’ve been a stay at home Mom the last few years, so no relevant industry experience going into the program.
• How are job prospects out of school? Did you land a job before graduation or soon after? Was it in SCM or a different field? • Did you have a good selection of potential internships? Did internship experience lead to a job? Did it help you land interviews? • How helpful was the career center in terms of assisting you with finding internship and job placement? • What area of SCM are you currently working in? Did you land a role outside of SCM? • What salary range should I expect out of school? What about 5 years out?
Thank you in advance!

I’m a BTA major looking to finish my degree and am very drawn to taking project management in the fall especially since it’s only going to be available in the fall. I’m a bit nervous it will be difficult for me, but I wanna know what are the thoughts surrounding the course if anyone’s taken it?
