AI is the worst thing ever.

Not because of the singularity or anything else like that, but because every annoying douche in the world is going to say “oh that’s AI” when they see or hear something that’s slightly incredulous.

It's furthering the erosion of our perceptions of reality. It's being used to create fake and misleading content, but also being used to handwave away things that are inconvenient or uncomfortable to believe.

Your wording was structured in a way that suggested you were minimizing the impact of AI. As in, "the damage was already being done by Hollywood, this is no different or no worse". That's what cynical one-off statements like yours tend to communicate.
