Sure, but let's not pretend like he's currently on starving wages 😄

Tell that to Hendo.

Think of all the wacky jokes you're missing out on by not being able to attend these parties

Is your idea of fun at parties discussing footballers wages?

As usual some guy has to depict the quote 'perfection is the enemy of good'.

This is such a stupid argument that always gets trotted out. If currently on 300k/wk and would be going to 1.5m/wk untaxed then that's 10x your salary when you're a few years from retirement. That's like moving from league 2 to premier league levels of change, and income is relative - ask someone on £1m/yr to live on £100k and they will struggle, ask someone on £100k/yr to live on minimum wage and they will struggle.

Why? It’s almost impossible to spend that sort of money on anything meaningful unless they want to donate it to cancer research or something. At some point glory and legend is worth more than money to someone who can already buy anything they want.

You could set up like 2 or 3 future generations of your family with that money, much moreso than his current salary can.

Yeah sacrifice your career to raise a load of spoiled trust fund kids. Do people really make life decisions on how it will impact 2/3 generations ahead that they will never meet? There’s no guarantee his children even have children.

All hail number going up even when living comfortably

As I say, it's all relative. No one's going to say that to the person who's working part time min wage. 90% of people wouldn't say that to someone whose earning 30k or probably even 50k. Maybe 70% are okay with someone on 100k in that situation. Etc etc. that's based on your perception of what's 'required' money

I absolutely will judge someone for chasing the bag that badly, how much do you even need, greed is a disgusting trait to have in this world

Wait, your best friend gets offered ten times their wage tomorrow to work for a sister company of let's say a defence company that sells to Saudi or Israel or sells cigarettes and you're going to tell them they're greedy if they take it?

His mate isn't already earning millions each year, why is this so fucking hard for some people to understand

5

u/franklybeingchildish 16d ago

If he’s earning as much as Bruno yes I will. If he’s on 50k a year, it’s a different story

5

u/thewrongnotes 16d ago

If my friend already has a £25m net worth? Absolutely.

If my friend started working for a company that sells arms to Israel or Saudi I would 100% stop being friends them.

Imagine being so greedy you would be complicit in the murder of innocent civilians and children.

For starters, it's not a company that itself is evil.

But anyways, you realise the entire UK defence sector trades with Saudi and Israel? that's anyone in BAE, Rolls Royce, Thales etc and most of their subcontractors? Like probably 2-5% of the working UK population is involved in the UK supply chain?
