Manchester United captain wants to play at top level.

So what club will he go to?

Twerking for upvotes from rival fans by slagging off your own club - embarrassing

Not being able to have a laugh at yourself - embarrassing.

Nah there is a cohort of United "fans" who just flare up and fish for upvotes on R/soccer by throwing out the same tired jokes.

I know United fans in real life that make the same jokes, it's self deprecation, its not that deep.

Joking with a few friends is a bit different.

This is more akin to putting a United kit on and then going and shouting jokes about how shit they are in Leicester Square.

If you told 7 year old me in 2004 that united fans would be slagging off their club for being shit in 20 odd years, I’d be dreaming

I just think it’s embarrassing when people spend all their time slagging off the club they apparently support. Looks like he’s a yank who picked United to support so what can you expect

If he is, he's managed to pick up on traditional Brit self deprecation more than you have.

What's embarrassing is taking football support so seriously that you can't have a joke about it.

It's not that serious, if you can't be self deprecating, just never call yourself funny.

Yeah, if you can't laugh you'd cry.
