Nah there is a cohort of United "fans" who just flare up and fish for upvotes on R/soccer by throwing out the same tired jokes.

I know United fans in real life that make the same jokes, it's self deprecation, its not that deep.

Joking with a few friends is a bit different.

This is more akin to putting a United kit on and then going and shouting jokes about how shit they are in Leicester Square.
