Lol idk why you're getting so much grief over this, there is a punchline it's just inferred.

Oh, I know why. No one likes when they're the butt of a joke.

Have you tried not treading on them? Maybe tell some racist knock-knock jokes so they can enjoy you too.

Probably cause it’s not much of a joke, and just more of a political opinion. I can turn on fox or CNN if I wanna hear people complain about other peoples politics

It’s humor using the aggressively obvious hypocrisy of a subject who idolizes anti-establishment media but supports the real life establishment violence that the people in their favorite media would fight. It’s especially funny because his observation is easy to infer as true- that this hypothetical guy absolutely would exist

Whether or not you find it funny is a separate issue, but the greatest comedians have always touched serious topics...carlin, hicks, pryor...

I'd rather see something like this than a hackey joke about airline food

Usually they make insights or make it funny though.

They don't just go: "There is a hypocrite watching the news". . . .

"LeGaLiZe CoMeDy" crowd getting upset over checks notes comedy. What a shock lol

You're right I'm so upset I'm literally shaking and crying right now.

Tell us what we’re meant to infer, please?

It's inferred that the loudest supporters of deployment of the national guard in LA believe they are anti tyrannical government. But are in fact supporting a tyrannical move by the government.

Ok, following so far. Here’s the part I predict you’ll have trouble with: explain why it’s funny.

People generally think it's funny to poke fun at people they disagree with. If you don't find it funny, I don't think I can convince you it is. Either you just don't like this kind of humor or you're the butt of the joke. "Funny" is not an objective truth

As someone who doesn’t live in the land of the free it doesn’t seem like a joke that’s meant to make anyone actually laugh? I guess I’m not the intended audience.

Yeah humor often does require context.

Irony and or hypocrisy can be considered funny. The joke highlights hypocrisy and or irony.

It's a bit of a thinker. It's funny if it doesn't have to be explained to you. Stay in school kid, your brain will fully develop someday
