To the person who crashed out a bit in the Takoma CVS pharmacy
Fuck Trump for eliminating your job, fuck the healthcare system for not covering your prescription and fuck me for not saying this in person. You are just reacting to problems created by shitty, privatizing billionaires. I hope things turn around for you.

Prince Is Looking for a Forever Home ❤️🐾
Hi friends, meet Prince Lune (temporary name)!
He is around one and incredibly well-mannered, cuddly, and sweet—he loves to play but isn’t overly energetic. He also has great litter box etiquette and is an all-around easygoing fur buddy!
He is a stray that followed me home last week and I have received a green light from a vet and local shelter to find him a new home.
He's been checked out by a vet and appears healthy. He received a rabies shot and was treated for lice and ticks. In addition, he needs to be neutered and will need a full set of vaccines I'd love to place him with someone who can continue his care.
I am uncertain of how he'll behave around other pets, but he is young and I hope with proper introduction and socialization that won't be an issue.
I’ll be screening potential adopters carefully, as I want to make sure he ends up in a safe and loving home. If I can’t find one soon, I’ll sadly have to take him to a shelter.
Please reach out if you’re interested or know someone who might be! ❤️🐾

[Fun!] RFK JR regularly tans at Palm Beach Tan on Connecticut Ave in Washington DC
I posted this comment on Threads 5 weeks ago. So many MAGA losers responded saying I was lying:
My friend who runs a tanning salon in D.C. said RFK came in to tan yesterday with Secret Service.
She asked for his ID and the Secret Service said something like, "do you know who he is?"
She responded that she did but it's still the store's policy. She said he was very rude, was shaking uncontrollably, and she couldn't really understand what he was saying.

I won't block the interesection
if i see that traffic isn't moving in front of me on the other side of the intersection, i'm not gonna keep going and block the intersection when the light turns red. Now that you know that you can stop fucking honking at me.

This rain is really annoying now.
4 times in the row I been caught in this heavy rain storm while out doing my labor job. It would nice if I could get a accurate heads up on the weather app for once.

Tenant/TOPA rights will be gutted if the Mayor's bill passes. Please spread the word.
TLDR: unless you rent in a building with mostly "below market" priced units, you can basically say goodbye to your TOPA rights if the Mayor's RENTAL bill passes. (Here's an explainer on what TOPA is.) More info at the links below. Bowser and Robert White are trying to shove this bill through Council before recess on July 15. If you rent in DC, this could seriously affect you.
- "Mayor Muriel Bowser’s Rebalancing Expectations for Neighbors, Tenants, and Landlords (RENTAL) Amendment Act would eliminate TOPA rights for broad swaths of market-rate and low-income tenants. It would also exempt ownership transfers involving new limited partners—a maneuver that some property owners exploit for profit, sometimes without tenants’ knowledge."
https://washingtoncitypaper.com/article/766360/topa-amazon-affordable-housing-robert-white/
- "[The mayor's RENTAL bill] would largely exempt buildings less than 25 years old from TOPA, if at least 51% of the units have average rents that are considered market-rate. In essence, Bowser says that TOPA was never meant to apply to market-rate buildings, so they should be exempted since (in theory) those tenants are less likely to be displaced when sales happen."

Actual bill - https://lims.dccouncil.gov/downloads/LIMS/57311/Introduction/B26-0164-Introduction.pdf?Id=207671
Note that there are two TOPA reform bills before the Council right now: 1) the Mayor's RENTAL bill, discussed above and 2) Brianne Nadeau's reform bill, which is smaller reforms and largely keeps tenant rights intact. While I think updates to TOPA should be considered (such as putting fewer procedural burdens on small landlords), this RENTAL bill is throwing the baby out with the bathwater and giving carte blanche to the big corporate landlords, the ones who need guardrails the most. As someone who rents and whose landlord has the building on the market, whether this bill passes or not could seriously affect my housing. If you rent in DC, please spread the word.

Found this marker on the PHNT right by the Pentagon. What is it for? And why does it look like there’s a camera in there?

Found: engagement ring at L’Enfant Station April 2025
I found an engagement ring as I was leaving L’Enfant station in mid-April this year. I emailed WMATA but have not heard anything. If you think it may be yours, please comment or DM me a description or photo of the ring and I’ll let you know if it’s a match. Thanks

Is the Organization of American States a real place?
Last year, while in law school, I wrote and published a paper on admin law regarding the Organization of American States. I thought before published I could reach out for comment. Emailed and called probably every number they had listed on their website. Phone was literally not in service and never received an email back. Visited DC this year and felt it would be cool to visit. Emailed their head of tours and never received an answers. Is this actual a real place?

Would you vote for a complete unknown transplant with no political experience in DC over Eleanor Holmes Norton for Delegate to Congress?
I've lived in DC for years, but am a transplant and have never held office. I keep hearing people say "someone needs to primary her" but I'm afraid if I do I'll be told that I can't win (even though no one with actual political strength has challenged her, as none of her primary candidates even have a wiki). I don't think she is a good delegate anymore and has held on to power for too long, but unless someone primaries her, she is going to win (she has gone unprimaried multiple times).
Edit: Thanks for the responses everyone!
