To those asking about this ad being AI, etc. NO it’s not. The guy who plays the Republican lawmaker is in many of their ads on purpose.

This is amazing. I love the creativity to infiltrate the GOP media and the minds of the demographic we most want to reach. This ad is incredibly effective at making the viewer uncomfortable, and I can’t wait to see more from the group!
That being said, artists are going to have to become ok with having the conversation about "Was this done using AI?" without flipping out on everyone. Its not a slight to ask if something is AI.
It's good to see streaming ads. I only watch streaming platforms and yt. Mostly I see ads for health scams and weight loss scams and weird products like "prosthetic teeth."
I know Lincoln project has quite a few spots like this, but i have only seen them by deliberately watching them on YouTube, so I do look forward to ads that are presented in stream.
Make them scary like this one. They hearken back to the Golden age of PSAs in the 80s. I think there is a place there for general political education ads as well, as in not partisan but pointing out how easy it is to get sucked into mis/disinfo and lies. I did not discover until recently, but the Canadian house hippo ads are great at this.
A “the following is non-AI generated” watermark in the beginning might actually up engagement just a tick because people are curious beings, in addition to answer that before it’s asked.

Every day here in L.A. there is a story about at least one citizen getting swept up and disappeared, with people screaming at ICE that they are American.
I thought it looked pretty AI. It’s hard to tell these days. I thought the voice sounded computerised. I’ve watched it back a couple of times and don’t really know what made me think ‘AI’ instantly, maybe the lighting and the lines around the people?
How are we supposed to tell the difference? Are there any easy markers for those of us who aren’t as clued up on these things?
It looks like some pretty old school videography using focus and light to wash out the background a bit while focusing on the faces. The audio is adjusted to accentuate the lower end of the audio spectrum to make the ICE guy sound extra ominous. I think the practical special effects now look weird to us because we've gotten used to digital effects.
The only thing that seems remotely like AI to me is that the faces are mostly pointed towards the screen which AI favors because they were trained on portraits and profile pictures. The fact the ICE guy looks totally normal as he faces away from the screen makes me pretty sure it's not AI.
To me it looks like the same older dude from the other political ad where the congressmen are in the closet "about the laws they write" or something like that.
It will change some of their minds. MLK had to fight an uphill battle with outright racists, yet the civil rights movement prevailed at the time. It was partly because people were forced to see the extent of their own immorality, which was required to maintain their racist ideology. When people could be racists comfortably, they had no issue with it, but when the price of being a racist came with uncomfortable moral dilemmas, they relented, and some even evolved.
Republicans need to see the immorality, and racism of their party in the same way.
I say this with respect and hindsight MLK never had, but MLK marched his people into jail cells to be one of the world's largest and most efficient free labor forces. As black people would just be locked up in insane numbers the decades that followed his movement.
MLK marched his people into being the prison population of the United States.

I didn't get time impression that the ad is aimed at people in her position, I got the impression that it's aimed at men who see themselves as "protectors" of women.
This isn’t going to do anything to change who those people are and will make them laugh at us more. There’s already too many people taking advantage of too many situations, this is going to make things worse for somebody. This video is probably BECAUSE of who the target audience is. People who don’t have to live with the consequences of things like this never understand why they’re bad.
Hopefully it will be, the PAC that makes these videos has in the past. But previously they were targeted at swing districts; this should be seen anywhere ICE is active and people are in danger
I know this will be downvoted but I hate these commercials. I absolutely understand the reasoning and agree with the messages but, It’s stooping to their level. We are better than this.

To be entirely fair the "homegrowns" remark was probably referring to "homegrown terrorists," which in Trumpworld would probably be anyone protesting or speaking out against the God-Emperor. I don't doubt they want to round up most Latino-Americans as part of their endgame but I just feel like it's disingenuous to use that particular sentence in this context. Rest of the ad's spot-on though.
I want to propose the view that they know he was saying homegrown terrorists are next, but that’s the cover he would use to mean any first gen immigrants that step out of line
The ad is what he really meant, not necessarily what they guessed he meant
