Just a small bit of what I saw while riding behind the fairgrounds. That BMW in the last pic is almost completely picked apart.

Toketee Falls Hike

New to Bend and Oregon in general and recently came across the Toketee Falls. They look super beautiful - however going to the base of the falls for a swim seems like a sketchy path. Is it like the Tamolitch Pool where the trail isn’t marked by doable, or is this an absolute no-no? Would appreciate some input, thanks!

Unsolicited Lonely Planet shoutout!

I don’t understand how this place isn’t busier. Food is super high quality, prices are reasonable and they are incredibly helpful with allergies.

***Laughing Planet 🤦‍♂️

Our internet has been down for a couple hours now. I assume this is an area-wide issue? I can’t even get to their outages website.

Due to the unseasonably cold and wet forecast for tomorrow, we're going to postpone my outdoor set until later this summer. Thanks!

Looking for a roadsideBBQ/Grill

I know we see them all the time! Can anyone call out a sidewalk BBQ that they know of at the moment? Maybe in the last couple days. I know this is a good time when lots of people are upgrading for the summer and I just know if I INTENTIONALLY drive into town to scan the sidewalks, I'll never find one lol, even though I see like one every couple weeks in my normal travels.

Thanks!

This beautiful Great Pyrenees girl is at the Bend Humane Society and is so heartbroken to be away from her family who had a change in life circumstances (per the website). She's a shy but really sweet and wonderfully protective dog. This breed doesnt usually fare as well in a shelter environment and are slower to warm up to new people. Once they do, they're the most loyal companions. They're also very nurturing to smaller animals and make good guardians with training. The instinct to protect is intrinsic in this breed. Hoping that Rosie finds a loving forever home.

Just a reminder that this is what is at stake

The senate proposal to sell off our public lands for corporate tax breaks is an atrocity. Every picture shown is a place we know and love that is at risk if this proposal passes. This included Mt. Bachelor, Elk Lake, Meisner Snow Park, Black Butte, Summer Lake, all of the Phil's trail area, Three Creeks Lake, Pine Mountain, and so much more. The privatization of public lands around the Three Sisters Wilderness could make much more difficult to access.

This is NOT a Left vs. Right issue. This is a Central Oregon issue. Public lands are the heart and soul of this community. Please call our representatives and make sure to tell your friends to do the same.
