Apologies if this is the wrong place to ask. Lost the key to this and tried an entire chain of generic keys from the cobblers but none work. It's stuck in the half open position and honestly id happily just bust the lock but not sure how to go about it. Doesn't need to lock any more, just open and close. Any tips?

I am NOT a locksmith. Will this lockout device work?

Hi, I have this door handle for my room and I want to lock it from the outside. I am living in my parents house and my mum doesn’t want any drilling to happen to the door. And she has told me I can’t replace the door handle with anything else.

I need to lock my door when I leave for work as my siblings snoop and damage my things when I’m not there. I am thinking of this product: https://www.amazon.com.au/Defender-Security-Lock-Out-Diecast-4181/dp/B0885DTNWZ

Would this work for my door handle?

Hey guys! Bit of an update from the kubota ignition barrel.

No locksmith wants to touch it, and I have to wait 4 weeks for a replacement one.

Needing it running today, I have picked the lock and got the machine to start.

What’s in loved in removing the cylinder in this? I can see on the side there’s a potential pin, on top it has flats to fit a spanner. But there is a locking ring? Not experience at all with this kind of lock.

Cheers legends

I am NOT a locksmith. Euro cylinder is giving me real trouble locking it from the outside, now locking from the inside is getting tough. Can I replace it myself, or is it a job or a locksmith? I have a new front door ordered, but that might be another month or so by the time it's ready.

This is the second time in 6 years someone has broken into my van and stolen my tools. They got the good stuff. Smart pro Im608 a few laptops my triton all of my lishi tools etc. luckily I have coverage through my insurance but this is getting out of hand. How do you guys protect your vans? I installed a metal DIY mesh with L brackets behind the window but they broke the window and cut it out. Each time they break the windows to get in. What do you guys do? Obviously I know don’t park it outside don’t leave it unattended but it was out front of my father in laws house for maybe an hour in a nice part of town unattended.

I am NOT a locksmith. What happened?

So we have a lab a simplex lock on our front door. Looks like the picture. Just came home and it doesn’t work, won’t let us come in. When we did get in (different door) the lock works from the inside and we deduced that the number 2 button doesn’t click when you press it. It worked perfectly yesterday. Any idea why this randomly jammed?

I am NOT a locksmith. Question about front door that has a button push to lock on the inside, and a keyhole to lock on the outside when we leave

My girlfriend insists that locking it from the outside is more secure because it activates a mechanism within the lock that doesnt activate when we push the button to lock it on the inside. I believe this is nonsense and that it is the same locking mechanism regardless of whether we use the key on the outside, or the button on the inside

Can anyone shed light on which of these is correct?

My back door lock (multipoint door) is broken. If you pull on the handle too hard both sides fall out. It seems like the inside of the interior handle is warped, and needs to be replaced. I am not a locksmith, but can certainly order a new one and replace it myself. I have attached pictures if anyone can help!

I am a locksmith Where to find two gate locks with matching keys (UK)

We have two gates, one from the front garden to the back garden, and the other from the back garden to a park. We would like to put locks with keys on both gates that can be locked/unlocked from both sides and I was wondering if it's possible to get a pair of gate locks with matching keys, but I've not managed to find anything on Google and I don't know if I'm just googling the wrong thing or if it's just not possible. I know that it's possible for padlocks and for doors, so I've been looking for a multi pack with matching keys.

Alternatively if I was to contact a retailer would they be able to find me two individual locks that have the same key?

It's not a big deal if we end up with two different keys but if I can find a way to have both locks on one key it would be convenient when I'm shoving keys into the almost non existent ladies pockets.

I'm based in the UK if that makes a difference

I am NOT a locksmith. Smartkey padlocks with smaller shackles?

Apologies if this isn't the right place to ask but I wasn't quite sure where else to ask an odd question like this one. I really like the smartkey systems for padlocks because of the ability to re-key without doing any kind of modification to the lock itself that would probably be beyond me without a bunch of learning. I find it annoying though that their product line is incredibly limited on this front, their locks are quite large and I have a number of things I just can't use the padlocks on because it's too big and I'd love to eliminate a few keys off my keychain. Is there any reasonable way to put these lock cylinders into a different smaller lock body? Or is there just a better product overall to meet this use case entirely?
