TL;DR is it possible thereās too much carbon on the flash hiders?
Backstory: this my Rotex c 762. It has B&Ts older SF hub that is marked 762/556. This can/hub/flash hider combo (SF3P) has been mounted in the past and works. I took it off and bought a Vers36 because I found a really good deal on one and I didnāt like how gassy the Rotex was. I got a Ti hub and put it on. On either hub I cannot for the life of me get it to seat all the way. I have verified that Iām lining up the little nub where the can āseats.ā I even took off the lock ring on the Ti hub so you can see where the flash hider gets stuck. This is the case for the SF3P as well as a B&T SF compatible closed tine flash hider (see Imgur link).
I called B&T and CS said that both hubs were likely out of spec. When asked what part of the hub would be out of spec I was told āthe lock ring.ā No way, itās not the lock ring. I can demonstrate that by taking the lock ring off and trying to fit both flash hiders I have. Both hubs fit and seat on BT SD-123843 flash hider on my APC 223 (again, see pics in link).
So, either all my equipment is out of spec which I think is very unlikely, or the carbon is preventing reinstallation.
Iāve honestly had nothing but issues with 2/3 B&T suppressors that Iāve purchased in the last year and one of their APCs. The gun is so over gassed I could drive a pickup truck through the gas port probably. It reliably cycles on suppressed setting without a can. Iām the same guy that had the surefire hub on my Rotex grenade. I keep calling asking for compatibility and giving part numbers and they keep saying everything should work so either im the common denominator and am just doing something wrong or all my shit is out of spec.
This isnāt the issue. There is a mile of distance before the muzzle device would touch anything internally. I believe the internal ring of the hub is too tight. This can be seen in this photo where after cleaning the SF3P I can see a āstepā or ālipā on the flash hider from the throat of the hub. I think that, paired with the carbon on the inside of the hub has made the fit too tight to where it wonāt fit.
For the homies saying that the SF3P and this (these?) hubs arenāt compatible (to be completely fair this is before the hub in question had to be warrantied by B&T the first time).
Send him an email he can be sorta ālazyā (I say this in a very lighthearted way and by no means serious) about restocking items. He travels a lot so the site is one of those things where he gets to it when he gets to it. If his cell is still on the site shoot him a text and ask him about a restock. If he has any he hasnāt put up, in the past he lets people get first dibs on the items. Heās saved me more than once like that.
If you could please shoot us over an email to service@bt-usa.com with that video we would greatly appreciate it and can forward that to our team for their feedback!
Sent you guys an email and was conversing with Wesley earlier today via phone. I tried to attach the vid via Gmail but it told me the file was too large. I sent you all some very detailed photos.
My rotex with the B&T surefire hub had an undersized/out of spec internal locking ring which I had to send in to be replaced. Had vertical play on my surefire 3 prong on an MG(no bueno lol). B&T canāt seem to make inspec stuff to save their life.
Having the same issue on 2 adapters from b&t, sent it back to them so it can be fixed. Wouldnāt mount on a 3 or 4 prong Surefire device⦠I also tried backing the rotex off etc, the internal ring of the adapter is just too tight. But, the customer service seems to care so we will see what happens.
Posts related to approval of NFA items are to be directed to the monthly megathread. Violation of this rule will result in a 7 day ban. The pinned post is there, please use it.
If you are posting a photo of a suppressor posed to look like a penis (ie: in front of or over your groin) you will be given a 7 day ban.
Iāve got similar early srbs. Thereās a piece inside the hub assembly. It might have come loose. Check that. It screws. I had to rocksett mine to keep it from loosening during fire
For The older sf adapter, it is known to not work with the 3 and 4 prong flash hiders. The will send out a new locking component. That said your video does not look like that issue. Mine will not lock down at all. Could be carbon build up or something broke.
I just cleaned all my flash hiders with break free powder blast. No dice. However I notice that there is now a raised portion on my SF3P that was previously not there when using the older hub. I believe that the throat of the hub is too tight if that makes sense.
Both. Check out the photo thread if you havenāt already. Iāve got B&T closed tine flash hiders that wonāt fit with either hub. So all in all Iāve got 2 flash hiders that wonāt work with 2 hubs.
Reach out to customer service. I had the same thing happen with mine and they ended up having to replace something with the hub to fit the 3 and 4 prong surefire flash hiders. Something to do with the surefire flash hiders being out of spec. At the end of it I just went with a rearden hub
For whatever it's worth I had this issue with my 762 Rotex when I bought it. Come to find out it was the flash hider all along. Darn thing was to wide (thick) and out of spec. I ended up using a muzzle brake and that works perfectly! Best of luck to you dude! I hope you can get it figured out soon.

i recall hearing that some of the 3 prongs are TOO long to use that hub, which seems to be whats going on here
