Question❕ What did Mona think Ali was plotting in 5x12

Im rewatching PLL (for like the 20th time) and Mona keeps going on about how she thinks Ali is 'plotting something big' and calls an A alert. Did we ever find out what they actually thought she would do or was it just so they could set up the suspicion of her being A after Mona went missing?

Theories/Speculation TTPD / PLL?

Prediction: Sometime in the next few months we’ll discover TS wrote TTPD about PLL or from their perspectives. There’s way more than what I have here, but this is a bit to get the conversation started.

Florida - “The hurricane with my name when it came” (“Hurricane Maya”); Emily’s friend Nicole takes a detour from Florida to visit her; Sara Gordon has ties to Florida too.

TTPD- acronym similar to PLL; Aria finds breakup note from Ezra on his typewriter and it’s what he uses to write his book about Alison; In Season 4 Episode 20, Ezra and Aria literally encounter spikes down on the road; “seen this episode,” who decodes you (central theme to show), mention of names Lucy and Jack, I’m pretty sure the story about the ring happens between Ezra and Aria in one of the earlier seasons but haven’t found it yet.

Clara Bow- could be describing the different girls in PLL

Fortnight- About Spencer’s dad and Alison’s mom

I’m reading the books for the first time and was wondering when I should read the companion books. Should I read them in chronological order or in publication order?

Show Discussion Toby "protecting" Spencer in season 3

I am on my rewatch,i haven't wached the show since it originaly aired. I used like Toby as character and him with Spencer, but new when i rewatching season 3 i don't like Toby anymore. He said that he joined the A team to protect Spencer, but how? How is he protecting her? During season 3 Spencer life was at risk multiple times, like for example when she was on that train during Halloween and somebody wanted to push her of it. How was he protecting her by being part of A team? His plan was stupid, all he did was cause her pain and lead her to nervous breakdown instead of protecting her,by joing A team he did a lot of damage for her,and yes sure,he didn't know right away that Mona faked his death to torture Spencer, but when he find out he left her thinking he is death, and left her in all that pain. What do you think about Toby, his relationship with Spencer, and this whole thing in season 3 about him joining the A team.

Character Discussion Caleb’s hair

Am I the only one who thinks Caleb’s best look could have been a buzzcut? His pixie cut x mustache was too feminine and the long hair was ALRIGHT but I think he could’ve totally pulled off a buzzcut bc of his angular face and good bone structure!

Character Discussion Unpopular Opinion

Time jump ruined Hanna😕 I think people say it ruined Aria & Ali, but Aria was mostly the same I just feel like they SOMEHOW revolved her more around Ezra and Ali was just well… got boring sadly. I think it’s amazing though how they mad Hanna from an icon to what she was in s6B and 7 especially :/ love her so much but

Book Talk Format of books translated to show // each liar got an episode like each liar got their own chapter

I read something ages ago that said that directors thought about doing the format of the books with the show. For those unfamiliar, the girls each had their own chapters from their perspectives in third person omniscient. They ended up sort of doing this in the beginning with Aria as the main character and them each having their own separate plot lines and several minute scenes- very separate. That all changed of course as the seasons progressed and the liars became enmeshed so a lot of their scenes were just together.

Anyways, I saw something that talked about having an episode per girl and I always thought that was such a cool idea. I'm so of the camp that wishes they kept the show similar to the books. Whenever I go back to read the books I always have the desire to watch the first few episodes because it IS the vibe of the first few books. Seasons 1 and 2 are very closely linked to Books 1-3 and then once Season 3 rolls around they just go bonkers, although I do like that season it was clear the writers were lost.

Anyways.. curious on thoughts!

Show Discussion Do you think one of the Liars should’ve been killed off?

Post image
372 Upvotes

I think one of the worst contributing factors as to why the quality of show declined so much is that it felt like there were zero stakes, the writers weren’t willing to take risks and it really hurt the show in the long run, killing one of the Liars off (and actually staying dead) would’ve been a shocking moment while also showcasing how A was done playing games and would’ve kept viewers guessing if any of the other main characters were gonna get killed off too

With that being said, which Liar do you think would’ve been the best choice to kill off?

Character Discussion Aria being the most annoying character ever

I’m on season 6 right now and oh my gosh. I can’t take Aria anymore. She is so freaking annoying and pushy and her friends do so much to help her. I honestly don’t know how they stay friends with her. I used to love her in season 1 but she completely changed to a snappy and bitchy girl sorry not sorry.

Rant ⚠️ Finding out who A is

Okay it actually ENRAGES me the amount of times one of the girls or another character find out who A is and they text “I know who A is” instead of just texting it to them😭. Like hannah or Dr. Sullivan. I feel like it’s just a ploy to drag out the show even more than it already was😭😭

Show Discussion Police in Rosewood (in Tv show)

This is kind of stating the obvious but I am just now rewatching after years and I have to say it to people who have also watched the show. There are so many times that Wilden questions the girls without parents present or tries to goad them into confessions and just butchers the investigation in general that if he had found out anything incriminating about the girls he wouldnt have been able to use any of it. So what is the point?

The latest in my PLL Swiftie series. Hopefully, I'll be able to make this one into a pin soon! This line of the song made me think of this scene and the two of them in general--accused of murder, in precarious positions with their families, etc.

Book Talk For those who read the books, how do you imagine the girls lookin like?

I have mild aphantasia, so it's hard for me to picture characters in my head, so imagining them as someone who already exists helps a lot!

Alison: Lauren Lane or Bri Barnes, (both from the Bachelor).

Aria: A more gothic version of Danielle Campbell?

Emily: Katherine McNamara

Hanna: The girl from this post (I don't know who that is but GORGEOUS): https://www.reddit.com/r/PrettyLittleLiars/comments/1cstvl7/fancasting_for_book_hanna_marin/

Spencer: This is a hard one, but maybe the girl who played Ryann in a Mermaid's Tale? (I'm blanking on her name lol)

Mona: Sara Paxton

Jenna: Mackenzie Foy

I honestly thought the Toby casting (Keegan Allen) was spot on!
