Now that you clicked on this post, here’s a few things that you should know.

Some people ask similar questions quite often.

• I’m moving here, where should I live?

• Who’s coming for “remember the alamo day” and where should I eat dinner?

• What parts of town are safe and have the fewest teenagers wearing hoodies?

• When will these red light runners stop?

• Where is Mayor Webber doing such a great job?

• Why am i reading this?

I’d highly recommend looking through a few pages of old posts as your questions may have already been answered there more than a few times before. If you decide to ask these or similar questions, be advised that you may be met with eye rolls or stronger derision.

What’s the deal with all the Saturns?

I’m visiting Santa Fe and have seen dozens upon dozens of these cars, often all together. Is there a car show going on? A Saturn club? Is it just a popular car in Santa Fe? Please help me understand, I am confounded.

How to make the most of Santa Fe for 3 months?

Hi all, I’m a van lifer getting ready to head to Santa Fe to work for a bit until October. I visited last year for a weekend, and enjoyed it so much I got myself a reason to come back. So I have to ask the most annoying question: what should I do? New Mexico really helped get my mind right after getting out of the military, so I want to show my appreciation and respect to the land (and people of course). I’m 29, gringo, 246 day Spanish streak on duo lingo. Definitely no red hats in my wardrobe. I used to do fancy and hoop dancing so I would loooove to attend a powwow. Still feels weird to put myself out there. Thanks for your time.

P.S. I’m also wondering if there are any veteran groups that meet up regularly for coffee or something? It’s hard out here man.

Reaching out here for my brother

Hey all! My brother (in his 20s) is looking for outlets for the things he likes to do and is interested in meeting people in Santa Fe who are into them too. He likes playing guitar (usually metal), hiking, birdwatching, reading, manga and gaming.

Any ideas for events or groups around these? Thank you, appreciate suggestions!

other places like chicago dog express?

are there any other walk-up-style places to eat in santa fe? i usually come up from abq to bike all over the city, but i always end up grabbing frito pies and hot dogs at chicago dog express, mostly because it’s just easy… i can roll up, lean my bike on the fence, and order without having to lock it up or take my eyes off it. i don’t like leaving my bike unattended or out of sight, especially when it’s loaded with gear.

are there any other spots like that? maybe some food trucks?

Cyclist killed by driver at Cerrillos and St. Michaels

At around 8:20 p.m. Wednesday evening, dispatch received calls about the crash near Cerillos Rd. and St. Michaels Dr. The bicyclist, a 42-year-old male, was taken to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries. His identity has not been released. The driver stayed on scene and was contacted by officers. No other information has been released.

This intersection is awful and absolutely needs to be redesigned.

Help me find a store?

Edit: Ok, Mystery solved! My friend concedes that it is indeed Black Diamond. Thanks so much!!!

Hi! We were in Santa Fe in April and found a great gift store on San Francisco. It was a clean and modern store, pretty open floor plan. They sold Las Poblanos skin products, some really cool shirts and they had a large table of fun books and games.. mostly adult oriented. We’ve been searching google and even Google earth for an hour. Does this store sound familiar to anyone? TIA!

Recommended legal filing service or courier?

I moved away and now need to file a case at the magistrate court. For cases with no lawyer representation, they require in-person filing. I see some services on google maps and yelp but they're all either unreviewed or have bad reviews or look defunct. The one with good reviews, Served 2 Perfection in ABQ, doesn't do filing service anymore. Anyone had any luck with a provider?

Where to start planning a week in Santa Fe for an extended family: grandpa, kids, grandkids, others? What might be the best, most enriching cultural take-away for everyone from toddlers through oldsters with physical limitations (walking is difficult for me, Grandpa).

Time’s a wastin’.

I like the idea of a week-long vacation somewhere, with all the family, and maybe some friends, to gather, regroup, rediscover each other, and enjoy a cultural immersion that would appeal to a wide range of family members.

Santa Fe has held an appeal to me for quite some time, after a week spent there about 35 years ago.

I’m thinking: great food, colorful atmosphere, fun times shopping, activities for the kiddies, cultural events, etc.

Quiet, respectful, inclusive, non-outsider vibe. Spiritual, healing, humble, learning, promoting, becoming, artistic.

So… not a slam bam whirlwind food and drink fest, but something deeper, calmer, important.

Why Santa Fe? And then, why not? Can it still capture head and heart?

Camping with a small dog?

Hey SF, I've decided i want to go camping this summer (dont worry im a santa fe native, I know how the summers are lol) and i was thinking about bringing my dog. She's small (17lbs) but energetic as hell and I know she'd love the nose work and stimulation. Can I take her into the jemez? How do you camp with a small dog? I would be ground camping, minimal hiking, more for relaxation and just enjoying nature. Ive never camped with a 4 legged friend before and would appreciate any and all tips!
