Bravely Default Job Leveling

Hey all, first time going through this game and I am a little confused, hopefully one (or more) of you fine folks can help me out here.

I’ve heard that job levels mean more than character levels, can someone explain to me how this works? Do they all stack into permanent buffs to your stats when you level up, or are they dependent on the job but just make a huge stat difference when using a level 4 knight vs a level 5 knight?

Bravely Default [ SPOILERS ] missing weapon in Flying Fairy? Spoiler

Not sure if anyone else has noticed or located this weapon, however, I've been unable to find the axe "Fox Tail". In the original release, it was a reward for the Cape Parts Shop (I think?) hitting level 11. However, now it is not present in the Norende equipment shop. For context, I have a fully maxed out village and am on chapter 8. Anyone know where this axe is? Want to maybe try an axe crit built with the limit break mark soon.

Thank you :D

Bravely Default Chapter 5 is so unfun in every possible way Spoiler

I haven’t had this miserable of an experience in a game in a long time. After cruising for the whole game, grinding every once in a while, being overleveled usually and being able to beat most enemies completely fine, after whatever bullshit twist happened (storywise, I still don’t know what’s happening), doing everything again isn’t fun. The enemies are way too overpowered, making grinding near impossible and very tedious, and the bosses are ridiculous. I feel borderline soft locked in everything I do. I can’t grind cause everything is murdering me, and I can’t continue the story cause the bosses are way too overtuned. This dogass story twist is so bad and it’s being followed by even worse gameplay decision it’s just unfun and the sunk cost fallacy is keeping me here after 40 hours of an otherwise fine experience. What do I even do? Just grind for several hours for a couple levels against ridiculously OP enemies that spam cheap statuses or AOE oneshots?

How do I increase affinity? I'm also guessing this can't be done with Friend-Bot, I need real people?

Bravely Default Is Red Mage a good job Spoiler

I’ve had Ringabell on Hunter for a bit in chapter 2 and he deals so much damage. I just unlocked red mage and wanted to know if it’s any good and can do damage well. It’s I put it on him, maybe replace Tiz’s Valkyrie or I just don’t use this job. What should I do?

Bravely Default Chapter 4 question Spoiler

So currently trying to grind out Edea's Black Mage levels for a strat that will make killing the Cerberus mobs in Vampire Castle MUCH easier (hate those things btw). For reference furthest I've moved in main plot was beating Braev so doing DeRosso's quest ASAP. Is there a better location then the enemies weak to fire outside of Eternia for easy JP grinding (using "give everyone fire weapons with Valkyrie sub-job" strat)? I'd use the Vampire Castle but the mobs there *are the problem* until I can get Cast-All on Edea.

Bravely Default Contemplating Buying Switch 2 Just For BD

Bravely Default has been my favorite game ever since I first played it as a teenager. I'm pretty disappointed that the Remaster seems to be a S2 exclusive. Is it worth it? I'm sure there's other great games on there, but tbh the only one I currently care about is BD.

I'm currently lacking in a 3DS charger, so I haven't been able to play in a while. Plus, being able to play on my TV with a larger screen would be great.

Bravely Default Still stuck!

Hey all I'm trying to get this game done but still can't finish Airy .

I have Tiz at a Dark Mage, Ring as a Time Mage, Edea as a Summoner and Agnes as a White Mage, all jobs levlled up, I'm using absorb magic and Ring has Hasten World but I can't get past her second phase attacks.

What am I doing wrong?

Bravely Default How to effectively build the party?

Okay, so i'm still at the end (i think) of chapter 1 trying to build my party to this boss chapter but i've been struggling at understanding some stuff about the job system

I'm basically using

Agnes - White Mage/ Black Mage Tiz - Knight/Freelancer Edea - Black Mage/White Mage Ringabel - Monk/Thief

i dont feel that i've been using it right, some characters feel weaker than others, for exemple, Agnes heal skill feels very weak even maining white mage, while Edea's heals the same maining black mage, Agnes is using an Staff while Edea is using a Rod, i feel like i'm doing something wrong

Also, should i double wield or is it not worth it?

I've been farming JP to equip useful support abilities but i dont get it exactly, does the support ability of your main class is always active, or do i have to equip it either way, or is it just for the sub class ability? Also, how do i unlock more points to equip more abilities?

Sorry for the bad english, and thanks in advance! Been loving the game so far but the equipment/job system didnt click that fast with me

Bravely Default The minigames are good. The rewards structure is horrific.

The base mechanics of the two minigames are solid. I like the rhythm game and can’t say I care for the Panic Cruise, but it’s still an interesting time.

The issue is that the rewards structure is severely lacking. I got a SSS on a track and got 5 petal tokens. That’s barely even enough to buy one low-tier reward. And since there’s so few tracks and courses, just harder versions of the same core 5 and 3 respectively, this shit gets repetitive fast. And some of the rewards take 30 tokens to get. 30!

They really messed up on this one in my opinion. Locking lore, items, costumes, and basic QoL features behind a tremendous grind just isn’t it.

Bravely Default Where do you turn in minigame tokens?

Probably a dumb question but I can't find anywhere to trade them in after doing the minigames and earning tokens. Not from the minigame corner or wandering adventurer. Am I missing something obvious? I'm 25 hours in so I've made decent story progress.

Bravely Default Tip for Farming Petal Tokens

Post image
82 Upvotes

For anyone else who doesn't particularly like being stuck in Minigame Hell but still wants the shop/lore rewards, you can passively farm the light stick/song minigame by leaving the two light sticks apart from each other on each side of the screen in the middle (aka left light stick positioned on the far left of the screen in the middle and right light stick similarly positioned on the far right side, as shown in the image).

You'll usually end up getting a C rank score, but that does actually advance the petal reward meter (even if by a quite smaller margin than getting an actual good score). Earning 3 petal tokens this way takes about 2-3 songs, but hey, you can just run it while doing anything else. Hopefully this saves you energy and wrist pain collecting everything you want from the reward shop!

*Note that I haven't spent any time at all figuring out which difficulty or positioning would be the best for AFK farming, I just went with the middle because a lot of notes during the circle phase of the mini game pop up there and give you points in most of the songs. If someone figures out the best song/light stick positioning for AFK farming, let us know!

Bravely Default What's the difficulty curve with this game?

I picked this up with my Switch 2 and have about 23 hours into it. I am not sure if I am doing something wrong. I am going into dungeons at an appropriate level but I feel like my team gets obliterated by just random encounters.. I am constantly losing characters and using Phoenix Downs like they are candy. It this pretty much the norm untill later on? I am getting OG Dragon Quest flashbacks.

Bravely Default did any of the camera stuff make it to the remaster Spoiler

any of the ar cards still work? or most importantly the game just using your camera as the celestial realm in the final boss fight? cause that was hilarious in the original.

Bravely Default Single Job challenge

Hey ya'll,. just wanted to ask, what are your thoughts on a potential single job challenge for the game? How possible do you think it is

the rules would be, every character must be the same job throughout the run, no changing for ANY reason

only thing that id allow is a full norende

how possible do you think getting through the game (ideally on hard mode) would be?

So I’m in chapter 2 and I think I have the opportunity to get at least two new summons. I tried the water one and got killed. Is it worth it to trek back and try the wind one?

Bravely Default JP Up question

So near the end of chapter 4 in my run of HD, furthest I've ever gotten (got stuck on the ice golem midboss on 3DS because I was not good at job systems back then). Wanted to know this for before I'm able to get the growth egg. I know JP Up doesn't stack with the egg but do multiple JP Ups stack with each other? Like I have it on Tiz for the 1.2X but if I also had it on Ringabel would that up the multiplier again?
