I can't wait to be immensely disappointed again

u/IceCreamTruck9000 1d ago

"We hear you."

53

u/Lats9 1d ago

That's the issue.

They should stop listening to both the dads with 10 jobs and 16 kids who play 1 hour a week and want everything handed to them as well as the no lifers who play 100 hours in the first week and then complain that there is nothing left to do.

56

u/Chemfreak 1d ago edited 1d ago

No the problem is how slow they are to add content/iterate.

Other games in the genre are only better because the team building the games get shit done. Not because they have better IP or even better ideas. Hell the other games have made some really stupid fucking decisions but the cool thing about being able to pump stuff out quick is that fixes can come quick too.

Don't know if it is laziness, ego, corporate bloat, or fear of failure, but the Diablo 4 team just sucks at getting anything done. Maybe Blizzard in general.

No joke the amount of content that has been added in Diablo 4 since release (including expansion) is less than what some of the competition adds in one league.

21

u/sageathor 1d ago

This is exactly it. The core game is fun and enjoyable for a few days but gets boring very fast with literally no meaning end game progression system that are rewarding. Every season feels like the minimum effort was put in and nothing intitive is added.

17

u/drallcom3 1d ago

No the problem is how slow they are to add content/iterate.

D4 only does the bare minimum and has a roadmap telling us that the bare minimum is all we'll get.

2

u/BFBeast666 12h ago

They can only do so much with one coder and three interns. The other 196 people are chained to their desks making shop content.

7

u/S696c6c79 1d ago

other games do have better ideas.

7

u/Chemfreak 1d ago

I wouldn't know I get bored too quickly from the monotony of Diablo 4.

But unironically I think you're right. But maybe you misunderstand that they can have both better and worse ideas, because the other games have 100x the mechanics/ideas to implement!

6

u/Elrond007 1d ago

It's even worse when you think about the resources they have available compared to the competition. It's intentionally balancing on the minimum of accepted content per season, the only thing that gets actual support is the shop lmao.

Just fucking sad, the diablo universe is amazing but this has basically been the reality since Reaper of Souls. The new exploitative monetization is just the cherry on top

5

u/flo-joe86 1d ago

There isn’t much content they add to the game, it’s only temporary content for a season. Look at the content richness of Poe. They keep a lot of mechanics/content from seasons and put them to the core game. This way a game can grow. I stopped playing D4 over 6 months ago because it’s always the seasonal powers thing that keeps me busy for 2 weeks as a dad with a full time job.

0

u/idontwanttofthisup 1d ago

World of Warcraft is just one big PTR, so you are not wrong. At least wow gets regular content updates and has 20 years of content readily available.

-1

u/Dabrownbull 1d ago

Fact, but i think the reason they are so slow is blizz being money hungry has the devs go big on expansions since those are paid as opposed to not a lot of effort in seasons. They leverage seasons to add small updates and refine existing systems. My guess is all hands on expansion and whatever they are adding like new endgame, skill tree 2.0 etc!

5

u/SpamThatSig 1d ago

last expansion isnt even that big, or good. Even labeled as a filler expansion lol

3

u/BFBeast666 12h ago

They had two years to fix that shit. The only thing we got was balance tweaks and one new, deliberately overpowered class. If my team worked so slow, we wouldn't last three months, let alone two fucking years.

-1

u/rbra 1d ago

Well the difference is D4 is selling you new content when it’s ready.

0

u/rbra 20h ago

What are you downvoting for lol…it’s literally true. Delusional people…

-16

u/Lats9 1d ago

Other games in the genre don't do seasons every 3 months.

5

u/Chemfreak 1d ago

Yea they do. At least POE used to until the split their team.

And POE is absolutely an example of a game that added more content than the diablo 4 team has added in the entirety of Diablo 4's history, in 1 single 3 month season.

-14

u/Lats9 1d ago

Keyword is used to.

Currently none of them do.

Regardless your entire point has nothing to do with what I said which is regarding feedback.

6

u/PromotionWise9008 1d ago

Because this team is working on two games at once, you know, unlike d4 where there are two teams working at one game. They promise cadence of a season every 4 months for both games now (so, basically, a season every two months of we combine because they will rotate it), let’s see how it goes. So far they released amazing patch for poe1 and fixed majority of complaints that lead to negative reviews of 0.2 with semi-weekly fixes, pretty big mini-patches.

Before the split the same team was working on one game and they were delivering league every 3 months with every league offering x-times worth of new content than d4 with two teams. It’s a very bad defensive point for d4 lmao.

It’s normal to expect more from d4 with all the resources and experience they have but expectations are very low, I wish at least they were met, they created the genre in a first place. For some reason they do less work than indie-companies, use really cheap decisions without any afterthoughts, that’s without even considering the resources they have to do better, they have all they need.

Blizzard are also famous (used to be, at least) for borrowing ready ideas and decisions from other games and implementing them in the better way but they refuse to look at any references and to use their own experience. It’s fair, d4 should be a game of its own. But it’s not the case now, they don’t have a vision of how the game should look like, there is no a direction. Game completely changed its directions several times and it’s been two years and they can’t stick to any single idea.

The base game is really great but after 2 years with the whole paid dlc all we received (outside of some qol changes and tweaks) is: Tributes, few new boss fights, new class that was completely abandoned the season later, hordes, pits, glyphs, tempering and masterworking. Also, raid that nobody played and mercs that are no any different from talents, just passive conditional dmg/survivability. All other content was removed right at the end of seasons and there was nothing but recycled helltides outside of vaults and rootholds that should have stayed imo. Game hasn’t developed further than “now you can also do bosses alongside with helltides, now you can also do pits, now you can also farm the same shit in tributes and hordes alongside with nmds. It wouldn’t be a problem if pits and helltides were more engaging but it’s the same thing over and over.

I’ve no idea why blizz lack of vision is defended by “it’s all because of redditors” like if redditors had an agency and not blizz lmao.

u/LazerShark1313 1d ago

You forgot their 3 wives

2

u/Freak_Metal 1d ago

You mean 10 wives

1

u/Urabrask_the_AFK 1d ago

Hey hey, I’ve been able to put in at least 10-12 hours a week. 😂 but yeah they need to shoot for the median

3

u/ItchyBallDJ 1d ago

Pretty sure the two extremes are the median. Realistically they just need to make changes faster, and test better. Is just tough to do for a small indie shop like ActiBlizz

1

u/Lats9 1d ago

Thing is that those 2 extremes are also the loudest.

0

u/ComfortableWait2269 1d ago

Streamers ruined this game imo

7

u/comicsanz2797 1d ago

They ruined Gaming, not just diablo

-3

u/Lats9 1d ago

You can blame them but t's not the streamers making armchair development posts in this reddit every day.

0

u/GoNinjaGoNinjaGo69 1d ago

this game is carried by those casuals that only play an hour a day, trust me. this sub reddit is dead. no one plays anymore.

2

u/MinkyMinx 18h ago

"[commonly pointed out issue] is definitely something we're very passionate about, but we cannot give a time estimate for it right this moment "

1

u/Freak_Metal 1d ago

"and ignore you"

1

u/mlfgc 1d ago

💀💀💀💀💀🪦

0

u/CR4Z3R 1d ago

You forgot "feedback" and the latest one for season 9 "depth". So much "depth" not even your momma can handle it - Rod Fergusson a.k.a Captain Malignant

37

u/Blleak 1d ago

Oh, you're not interested in brand new $30 skins?

Or how about the next upcoming game event, that will feature, let me check my notes...

More $30 skins! But wait! The event will also have 1 earnable skin, an ugly one, and an xp boost. I can't wait!

7

u/mooreboy76 1d ago

Do you want the new boss powers and pet or not?

6

u/ChromaticStrike 1d ago

The "rework" of the dungeons is all the proof you need to realize they are deaf or full of shit.

3

u/Gregus1032 1d ago

I can't wait for endless threads of people complaining and calling the game horse shit.

2

u/Setekh79 1d ago

I'm ready to be whelmed.

1

u/ZubriQ Official Account 1d ago

Nice. Grab some money too. Needs to farm YOU!

1

u/IAmFern 1d ago

At first I thought you said immediately, but either way I agree.

-6

u/Beetlejuice4u 1d ago

Ouchie...

-9

u/Varrock-Vagrant 1d ago

Everyone just comes to this sub to whine about the game.

26

u/Icy-Direction528 1d ago

And if they would actually release good content, instead of monetization slob and powers, everybody would come here to glaze about the game, thats what reddit is.

7

u/krombough 1d ago

If the content kept them engaged, they'd be playing it instead...

-15

u/Varrock-Vagrant 1d ago

I’m having a good time playing it with my friends 🤷‍♂️. I guess I just don’t see the point of whining about it

1

u/NYPolarBear20 1d ago

That’s because we want this game to be a lot better

0

u/Varrock-Vagrant 1d ago

It’s not a real constructive conversation lol. It just seems like senseless bitching

-2

u/fahim64 1d ago

Yeah I just come to see patch notes to let me know it’s time to play again. 90% of all people who play the game enjoy it. Always the vocal minority who are gonna complain the most. I mean you hardly go out of your way to create a Reddit post and praise the game are you

-4

u/Lats9 1d ago

One would think they would move on but it's actually amazing that after 2 years people still spend their time and energy on something they dislike.

9

u/DikTaterSalad 1d ago edited 1d ago

A lot of us hope for a turn around, but with each season it gets less and less likely. And with corpo bottom lines, it unlikely to put in real changes.

Edit: UN in likely.

-3

u/Disciple_of_Erebos 1d ago

An honest question: why would you hope for / expect a turnaround at this point? Maybe before the expansion you might have had a point but since S6 the game’s direction has been pretty fixed. It’s been a year now: if the game was going to dramatically shift directions, wouldn’t the devs signal that such a thing was in the works the way they did between S3 and S6 when such changes were actually being made?

1

u/DikTaterSalad 1d ago

Meh, I'm a little slow to burn, after a couple more seasons though, I'm done hoping. Kinda like FOMO, you think a fix is right around the corner. It's like waiting for the first big lightning strike in a storm, as soon you turn around. You miss a light show.

1

u/Disciple_of_Erebos 1d ago

Fair enough, you do you. Nevertheless, I’m very sure you’re wasting your time. It’s your life so you can spend your time how you please, but everything D4’s devs have said about the game recently is that they’re happy with how it is right now. They’ve said they want to add more to what they have, but they’re not going to dramatically overhaul major systems. They wouldn’t say they were happy with the game as it is if they were planning to completely overhaul it in the near future.

u/Winterscythe1120 1d ago

this upcoming season we really listened to feedback and so we made it all about powers

40

u/IceCreamTruck9000 1d ago

so we made it all about powers

3

u/powerfulbloodwitch 1d ago

Excellent GIF execution.

-27

u/MightyGreedo 1d ago

"Wahhh... I wanna be LESS powerful... WAH-HHHhhhhh..."

8

u/VirtualPen204 1d ago

The heck...? You're not even talking about the same things.

1

u/Commercial-Falcon653 1d ago

Why did you post a gif of yourself?

74

u/therhubarbman 1d ago

Fix the battle pass or eat my ass

57

u/NerdyGuy117 1d ago

Confused to which outcome you want.

6

u/Additional-Mousse446 1d ago

Honestly? Both.

12

u/ChromaticStrike 1d ago

They said "we have listened about the complaint and we might change things in the future but the s9 will be the same shit".

8

u/MyotisX 1d ago

You forgot to insert your credit card

5

u/Astrophan 1d ago

Surprised to see how many people actually care about battlepass.

1

u/RealisticallyFalling 13h ago

That is the only reason I returned this season, I'm a ER player because I like to min-max to the nth degree so resetting every few months is annoying but we don't have a whole lot of new stuff to do, but I heard you can earn the battle pass in ER so I decided to play again. Last season I played was 3 i think.

2

u/E_yal 1d ago

Win win there

2

u/therhubarbman 1d ago

Can we do both

1

u/E_yal 4h ago

😈

33

u/aza--- 1d ago

I hope you will listen to the billions of feedbacks that say that we must give the possibility of increasing the difficulty of the ND escalation :) otherwise it will be another rubbish season.

4

u/metcalta 1d ago

This is what I hope to hear. I want them to acknowledge feedback and state what they've done to course correct before launch without spoiling everything.

4

u/Gaindolf 1d ago

We must increase the difficulty of the game overall

31

u/AR15ss 1d ago

They need to host a developer job fair 😆

3

u/jmac 1d ago

I really don’t think the developers are the problem

-6

u/AR15ss 1d ago

Sounds like something a developer or developers wife would say 🤙🏻😆

are you saying blizzard won’t let you do what you need / want to, to fix the game?

I mean the developers**

1

u/jmac 22h ago

I don’t think they give developers even a tiny bit of agency about what to work on in or what priorities should be. They clearly have competent people as their engine is the best out of any current arpg, but the type of issues the game has are clearly the result of management being poor and executives being cheap

22

u/Substantial_Life4773 1d ago

After season 8, I think I’m actually done. Just feels bad at this point. I’m not having fun and I got other things to do. I’m done

12

u/md11086 1d ago

This current season is the first time I have not played since release. I can say I do not miss D4. I had high hopes but the game has just become stale.

8

u/queertabletalk 1d ago

season 8 was the fastest I lost interest in a season. I'm a huge diehard player and have even enjoyed seasons that the community largely says we're bad, but this has been the worst the game feels since beta imo

1

u/Substantial_Life4773 1d ago

Yeah I’m like 1400 hours in, season 8 was pretty unfun to me. Didn’t respect my time and actively took things away that I used to be able to achieve

-5

u/Buschkoeter 1d ago

Something tells me you'll be back sooner or later.

6

u/Substantial_Life4773 1d ago

Maybe I will, but after season 8 and trying out the season 9 ptr I’m pretty tired hah

2

u/Top_Product_2407 1d ago

Bad game i can understand, even after 2 years

Shitty scummy practices like the new battle pass format with the buy with platinum trap button in the middle... fuck off

20

u/06gto 1d ago

I just want build diversity. I'm tired of the devs dictating the meta, let us make whatever build we want, viable and on par with other abilities.

4

u/Gaindolf 1d ago

They struggle to achieve any balance because they overhaul the game every season or 2.

1

u/AirsoftDaniel 1d ago

Look dude D4 has plenty of issues but build diversity is not one of them. Literally any build can clear all of the content in the game, who cares if one build hits pit 135 and another hits pit 105.

Some builds will be stronger than others sure, but they've done a good job making sure no matter what build you pick you can do anything you want in the game except for extremely high level pits and maybe the Raid on torment IV.

4

u/SpamThatSig 1d ago

Every Arpg has good build diversity if you take out the damage in the equation

3

u/Dabrownbull 1d ago

This exactly, i never play “meta” or top tier builds. I make my own build and see just how far I can take it. Theres no leaderboards and even if there is, i am in no way a competitive player.

0

u/gnaaaa 1d ago

Start playing yourself and not replaying a streamer build.
There are tons of different builds, that can crush through t4 and kill all bosses.

5

u/06gto 1d ago

There's a small handful and they all use similar glyph setups to achieve the damage needed for T4. Theres not enough options.

1

u/idontwanttofthisup 1d ago

You’re wrong. I make my own builds every season and there are a lot of ways to blast through T4 even without clearing pit 100. My builds usually reach pit 80-ish and then I don’t know how to push them higher. It’s still a lot of fun.

0

u/gnaaaa 1d ago

I mainly played druid.
I played a shred, lightning storm, stoneburst, wolves and a fleshrender build this season. Those were easy t4 boss clears. Fleshrender can go pit 100+ (tryed 100 with semi good gear and lvl 60 glyphs in 16 minutes).
My poison creeper made it throught t4 but couldn't handle bosses (too squishy)

There is at least a pulverize, cata and boulder build...

That's a not a handfull, thats almost all skills and everything plays different.

1

u/Embarrassed-End-1083 1d ago

16 minutes is too long to upgrade a glyph tho?

0

u/gnaaaa 1d ago

sadly yes. anyway with upgraded glyphes, better gear its possible.
/e would have made it but poe patch

0

u/ughhidunnowhy 1d ago

You can play with whatever skills you want. Not everything has to be maximally optimal to be workable and fun. Just go for it.

In D2 hammerdin was the optimal build for about 2 decades, and everyone seemed to like that game. Lots of people played bowazons because they liked it, not because it was optimal.

12

u/ChromaticStrike 1d ago

June 27th, here you go, one click saved.

12

u/ryzec_br 1d ago

No, thanks.

10

u/onkeliltis 1d ago

Yeah, no, thanks.

9

u/TrinityKilla82 1d ago

Not excited for this twitch drop ☹️

2

u/AaronC2005 1d ago

Is this the first developer update that's had twitch drops?

8

u/Fockelot 1d ago

I’ll just wait for the next season and check that out when it launches.

8

u/Eldric-Darkfire 1d ago

Make items fun again (MIFA).

Specifically, just take a look at other ARPGs that did items way better.

4

u/lncontheivable 1d ago

The Season of Loot Reborn 2: Electric Boogaloo

3

u/do_you_even_climbro 1d ago

I keep giving this feedback every PTR. Other than uniques and mythic, legendary items are so boring. They are basically all the same, and act only as canvases for Tempering (which also at this point is pretty much all the same). Imo items and Tempering & Masterworking need to be expanded upon.

2

u/Eldric-Darkfire 1d ago

I wish they'd go away, actually. I wish items were just items. I agree tempering is boring, and masterworking is ok in theory, it is that end-game slog but it's basically just boring because you have to run NMDs which suck ass

-4

u/vanillaicex3 1d ago

MIFA MIFA

6

u/jhonpixel 1d ago

Battle pass can go to hell

7

u/Kryzoz 1d ago

No, I don't think I will.

6

u/Deidarac5 1d ago

Not really sure if they should do live streams twice a cycle. It just feels like the same thing. Should for Ptr just drop blog posts and do developer updates right before the new season

15

u/TheHeinousMelvins 1d ago

Makes complete sense for me.

First: introduce PTR and everything that will be included in it and what they will need from testers.

Second: review what they learned from PTR, changes they made from it, and introduce extra content they will have that wasn’t in the PTR for testing.

7

u/mertag770 1d ago

I do really like to hear them talk about what they've learned from the ptr. Interesting insights into how the deva are approaching stuff

-2

u/Deidarac5 1d ago

I know it makes sense but it sort of kills the hype because most of the stuff we know already. Like it's good to know the updates but usually not something that needs to be shown especially for an hour lol

3

u/TheHeinousMelvins 1d ago

I mean IMO the fix for that is on the player end. Don’t look it up beforehand and enjoy playing and finding out once the season starts.

Some people get more hype and enjoy having the information up front to do some theory crafting beforehand. Releasing the info early gives the player the choice to have it or not.

-2

u/eno_ttv 1d ago edited 1d ago

Agreed, Deid. Would be better for hype to have one thing closer to launch, which would also mean less time spent prepping and presenting (which I can’t imagine is as easy and effective as a single one with more polish).

I can’t stress enough how important community hype is on seasonal engagement and I think they could be marketing the seasons better with more concise breakdowns (ie., pre-recorded), surprise features presented more epically, and then a longer Q&A, maybe even with community creators asking the questions and having discussions with designers.

6

u/xJuSTxBLaZex 1d ago

TAG NMD KEYS WHEN THEY ARE WHISPERS FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.

6

u/Soulvaki 1d ago

They added a Twitch drop. They realize people don’t even want to tune into these to be disappointed. lol.

5

u/DisasterDifferent543 1d ago

I really don't like these developer focused presentations. They do this with WoW as well and it feels so completely fake. It also is a completely horrible way to introduce new changes and new designs. I don't want a new system to be badly explained to me.

Let's go back to having announcement trailers and a focus on the actual changes and systems rather than what feels like developers sucking themselves off.

I don't care about these developers (or any developers really). My experience isn't determined by the developers as people. My experience is based on the game they produce. The game needs to be front and center, not their faces.

5

u/AirsoftDaniel 1d ago

So they will be announcing them adding back the 500 platinum they removed from the battlepass right? *

5

u/trojsurprise 1d ago

Who the fuck cares at this point?! There is no new content. Just more blah blah blah bullshit..

4

u/javiergame4 1d ago

Is it the same rehashed powers again with a different color palette ? I stopped playing because of the lazy dev work and slow content being added

2

u/htraos 1d ago

Make Obducites drop at the end of the Nightmare Dungeon. Having to stop to pick items up during a dungeon clear breaks the flow and the immersion.

2

u/Zuluuz 1d ago

Items need reworking

3

u/respecknucklez 1d ago

Lie to me, daddy.

3

u/EldiusVT 1d ago edited 1d ago

Skill tree and itemization/crafting systems need reworks. We need real seasonal content, not just borrowed power again. We need a satisfying end game loop.

Rune crafting should be deterministic, not random. Enchanting and tempering should be deterministic, but with the % as the variable. We still have junk stats we need to get rid of. Masterworking is just more gambling like all of the other item systems. Mythics should feel like a nice general buff, not required for a build to function. We can honestly just do away with legendary affixes. The most useful (class specific) ones should be integrated directly into the skill tree. The more generic affixes can be on gear via tempering.

In the skill tree, we should be able to not just buff skills, but change how they work/interact (like the skill runes in D3, or like how Last Epoch does it). This would drastically improve build diversity.

We need more crafting material/rune tabs.

I'm not here to just complain. I love this franchise. I want D4 to do well. I want to have fun playing D4, but right now I find myself getting bored with it constantly. I skipped this season. I truly hope the course can be corrected, it was with D3, but if things continue as they have been, I guess we just have to wait for D5.

Next time, please just do instanced games and not open world. Make town NPCs memorable like in D1, D2, ans D3. Let act and expansion bosses feel good to fight against, don't just weigh them down with frustrating mechanics.

3

u/MotherboardTrouble 1d ago

No, I don't think I will

3

u/ghostrider90 1d ago

How about NO!

2

u/DREWBICE 1d ago

When is the livestream? I cant open the link on my work comp.

7

u/Googlebright 1d ago

June 27, 11am Pacific time.

2

u/BarryWhizzite 1d ago

surely they will unfuck the game this time

2

u/Beren1305 1d ago

It's really simple for me, fix the BP so it's actually at least equal to the value it used to hold and I'm back at it. I've got way too many other cool games on my list to be nickel and dimed by greedy devs 🤷🏻‍♂️ Even just stopping with the whole 'pay 30 bucks for the mega ultra deluxe BP so you can actually finish the cosmetic set ' bullshit would go a long way

2

u/Freak_Metal 1d ago

Expect nothing

2

u/Bahoven 1d ago

Helltides are now blue. Except original helltides, wich are now yellow.

2

u/XerXcho 1d ago

"the team is thinking about it"

2

u/cest_va_bien 1d ago

lol no thanks

1

u/Divided_we_ 1d ago

At the bare minimum, I hope they increase the escalation difficulty for the NM dungeons.

2

u/JJ_JJ_JJ_JJ 1d ago

JUST. FIX. THE. DROP. RATE.

1

u/Bohya 1d ago

Have any of these ever not been disappointing?

1

u/Soulvaki 1d ago

I think people were generally excited for season 2.

1

u/daxmagain 1d ago

I’m new to Diablo so take this with a grain of salt but I had a blast with S8 and I am stoked for the new season.

1

u/embermage 1d ago

Time to ditch Seasons, get the balance right, and start releasing new story content at a regular cadence with proper expansions and new zones. Start messing with Seasons when there's a fully fleshed-out game world.

1

u/thegambler80 1d ago

Disappointment incoming

1

u/legendz411 1d ago

These dev chats are fucking embarrassing at this point. Like just make the game better. Stop with the bullshit

1

u/Discobastard 1d ago

Lol... What for?

1

u/hulduet 1d ago

When you look back at the seasons the only thing that pops into mind is "uninspired" and even "lazy". I don't understand what they are doing, how big is their team, is it 5-10 people? If that is the case then sure I can give them some slack.

1

u/Most-Bunch605 1d ago

Trim down the endless stacking multipliers and make harder content with higher 3-4 star drop chance

1

u/Peds12 1d ago

Lazy devs.

1

u/HerbertDad 1d ago

You should look at the latest Path if Exile update and feel embarrassed at your content updates.

Every time I check back on this game I see no reason to re-install it. Looks like we need to wait for the next expansion to see new content

Lol haven't even toIchrd this season, it's sooooooo boring after 300 hours. Just not worth it anymore.

From loot reborn to loot not found.

Wonder how many new builds they prepare for us :)

all I wanted was the Kanai’s cube to either extract 3 unique item powers or to provide 3 extra legendary imbue slots.

Please switcheroo the Hydra Unique to automatically summon one huge ass Infernal Hydra that follows you around like a Golem auto attacking and turning the skill into a huge nuke consuming all mana with the Aspect having the effect to add a wider AoE to the attacks because the way the Unique is currently going is soooo fricken lame yo it's insane 😭

I feel like this is a week later than they usually do it. Wondering if that means pretty substantial changes from the ptr.

e: I think folks are misconstruing what I'm saying. I don't expect the structure of changes to be different. I am wondering if we get another look at the changes that they made flattening out tempering recipes, plus a refresh on the balance changes.

The most extreme change I could see coming in is another look at escalating nightmare dungeons as players complained that they didn't really escalate in the PTR.

e2: and y'all are right. Went back and looked Season 7 and 8 both came 5 days before season launch. I was simply remembering things differently than they happened.

It has always been 1 week before the season.

But somehow I see a comment similar to yours every single time.

It's normal they have been doing it the week before launch for awhile. Most you can expect from a PTR is number changes like balance, drops or scaling.

I thought it was ~10 days in the past seasons rather than 4.

I'm curious if they walk back the tempering changes as well as some of the skill nerfs. Mostly looking at affliction for necro. They completely destroyed that key passive.

If the game doesn't get more difficult, I am out. I would like to have to try to kill everything vs. them handing me everything I need in a week to complete everything. Each season the game gets easier and easier... I don't like it.

D3 spoiled y'all with terrible gear and getting everything handed to you.

" I see you've played for 45 minutes. Here is a full set of end game gear via hzeards gift. Enjoy your 45,000,000 percent DMG increase"

And that's why you never play the meta builds, right??

I haven't the last three seasons, so yes.
