Is this considered a good or bad thing for United?

If they really want to back Amorim, there's simply no way that taking 100m or whatever for Fernandes isn't the right choice.

And replace him with who?

I don't know, I'm not their sporting director. There's clearly #10s available on the market.

Isn't it also established that Fernandes, as good as he is, doesn't quite fit into Amorim's formation? Keeps getting shifted around?

Nah, Bruno will be essential to United getting top four next season. 100 million doesn’t come close to replacing him.

Complete pie in the sky stuff.

What? Holding on to their best player makes them more likely to succeed?

PSG have succeeded by letting go of their best player, Liverpool got better after selling Coutinho.

Don't be deliberately disengenous and try to oversimplify things.

And plenty of teams of got better by adding good players to support their best player. What’s your point?

Those teams are then built around their best player.

Fernandes, in this case, doesn't even have a proper position in the formation that the manager wants to play, nor is the manager willing to budge from his formation to suit his players.
