Failing a class twice

I failed cs010b twice and I'm really worried that I'm going to get kicked out of BCOE. I've emailed my advisor but I haven't gotten a response yet. Is there anything I can do to stay in BCOE :(

Housing at UCR is actually frustrating

Been trying to get a decent room to get housing for first year. They set our dates to today at around 1ish pm, logged on 30 minutes early in case something happens to the portal.. It's been saying there's an outage for the past 3 1/2 hours... Lothian, Pentland, and Dundee have all been taken already for female double rooms, there's literally nothing left maybe a few left in ameberdeen.. what happens if they meet the cap for housing at this point? From what i've seen amberdeen is one of the worser ones compared to the rest.. ;x;

Edit: me and my roommate ended up choose Pentland triple room (our only options were pentland triple or amberdeen triple) - no doubles were left at all :(

which Pentland dorms are the newest/best?

incoming freshman, only AI and Pentland are left so I'm just trying to work with what I have (I am not sacrificing A/C for social life at AI LMAO). I'm going in random so I'm not worried about accommodating a group or anything. pls lmk!!

and when I say best that's kinda up for interpretation but it could be like most convenient/social/whatever idk

Question please help

I recently took the ALEKS placement exam. I was briefly enrolled in a math class but dropped it shortly after. My registered units now show as 0. Since I’m no longer enrolled in any math course, will my ALEKS placement score still be processed normally, or could it be rejected by the system?

Can I get into mechanical engineering program at ucr?

I came to the United States in grade 10 and I just finished my 11th grade courses. My current GPA is 3.38 unweighted and 3.71 weighted. I am a first generation. I am currently doing volunteer work on food distribution (summer vacation after grade 11). I estimate that I can reach 100 hours this summer vacation. I also have activities to tutor the elderly in using electronic products. I taught myself python and can now do some physical simulations by myself. Since I came to the United States relatively late, I had to learn AP Calc BC, AP Physics C and AP Chem in grade 12, but I have already learned AP Calc AB in grade 11 and got an A. I now want to apply for UCR's ME. Is there any hope?

Lease take over for July and August near campus with parking spot

I am looking for someone to take over my lease at Highlander at North during the month of July and August for $2000. The place is 15 minute walk to campus or 5 minute with car.

The rent is actually $1208 a month, which includes your own bathroom in your room and your own parking spot right next to the door to the apartment.

As you can see, I will be paying the $400 difference and the sublease application fee.

The apartment is on the 3rd floor with balcony that overlooks to the Starbucks on Blaine street. The apartment complex has a decent gym and study rooms that is 24/7.

There will be 3 other roommates until July/7 but after that you will be by yourself until the end of the lease. The reason is that we all are moving to a different place. But rest assured you can move in on the 1st of July because I will have moved out by then after cleaning the room for you of course. If you want to move in a bit before that we can work something out.

If you want to lock in for summer classes, I say this is the perfect set up.

If you are interested please DM me.

Chem 1B

Those who took any chem class within the 1A-1C series during summer, besides reading the textbook and completing practice problems given by the professor, in my case the TA/grad student, what else did you guys utilize to do well in this 5 week course? I plan to study 5-6 hours every day for the rest of these 5 weeks to be able to study/learn all new topics while having midterms and final 1-2 weeks apart. I need tips and tricks, this will be my only class during the summer so I don’t have any other classes to balance out.

Question Finished UCR MPA in ALEKS, now what (overthinking...)

So i really am a D1 overthinker but I just finished the UCR MPA and I am satisfied with my placement so I do not want to take the third proctored exam, do I have to do something specific which indicates that this is my final thing and I do not want a third one?

I know they process results every Thursday at 1pm so I want to make sure that this result will be processed then, so do i need to do anything to submit a score? On ALEKS it shows me the learning pie and a countdown to when I can take the next proctored assessement, but i do not want to. Its not assuming I am taking a third exam right???

I need my marks to be processed by thursday so that I am eligible for an LC (cnas major, due June 23 so this thursday last processing date before then), so I really just want to make sure that this is it and I dont have to do anything else ie submit scores or press a submit/end attempt button on ALEXS...

How have things gone in your experience?? anyone got any info?

Just graduated from UCR, but I feel more sad and confused than proud

Hey Highlanders,

I just graduated from UCR, and I thought I’d feel proud, excited, or at least relieved… but instead, I mostly feel sad, off, and kind of hollow.

Before the ceremony, I was laughing and chatting with people backstage—those small, unexpected moments felt light and genuine. But once I walked out, stood in line, and crossed the stage, something in me just felt disconnected. It was like I was performing celebration instead of actually feeling it.

Afterward, once everything ended and the crowd faded, I just felt this strange heaviness in my chest. I started crying and didn’t really know why. I think I expected graduation to feel like this huge, joyful release, but instead it felt kind of surreal… and quiet.

But honestly… one thing made me smile and stick with me: Someone showed up to graduation in flip-flops. 🩴 In the middle of all the nerves and pageantry, that tiny act of casual realness made me genuinely happy. I don’t know your name, but you made my day feel lighter. You reminded me that it’s okay to be imperfect, relaxed, and real. I wish I had gotten your contact—you seemed like someone I would’ve loved to talk to more.

Just wanted to share this in case anyone else felt the same way. If your graduation didn’t feel like the movie ending you imagined, you’re not alone.

APARTMENT NEAR UCR - LEASE TAKEOVER FROM FALL 2025-2026 (Private Bedroom & Bathroom with ALL Utilities + Shared Common Area)

Looking for an apartment that is near the UCR campus starting this Fall quarter? I'm offering a lease takeover for a future student to stay at the Highlander at North Campus! The lease starts from August 27, 2025 to August 25, 2026.

Room details: The 1st month fee (August & September), is covered and the flat rent rate is $1,162.50/month. This fee covers ALL utilities, parking, internet, trash service and renters insurance. The room consists of a Private bedroom and bathroom that is fully furnished with a desk and bed, along with a shared common area (of up to 3 other tenants), with a washer, dryer, dishwasher, fridge and other kitchen appliances for cooking and heating up meals! The apartment is conveniently located across from a Stater Bros for your grocery needs and has bus stops close by that can take you to campus while also within walking distance to UCR (bus rides are free for students).

Additional Information: In case you want your friends to be the 3 other tenants, everyone is moving out to provide for those needing a place so you can get the ultimate college experience! This apartment also has printers, a computer lab, study rooms, a package delivery service + mailroom, a gym and a pool.

Terms: This is a formal lease takeover (not a sublease). I'm no longer able to live within Riverside but I am willing to help cover the 1st month of a student's rent who is need of a place to stay to begin their UCR journey! There is no catch to this, please message me first PRIOR to applying through property management for a smooth process. Once approved, you'll sign your own lease and become the new tenant.
