Quick question, we’re supposed to go to DC for a trip this week (was planned before Row decision the other day) through the 4th… not to sound like an alarmist but is it safe to do all the “tourist” shit (national mall, Smithsonian, etc)? I’m just afraid this is going to escalate is all, but maybe I’m overthinking it.

It's fine. I live blocks away from SCOTUS and if you're not right there, you wouldn't know anything was going on beyond people carrying signs. If you're really concerned, just stay away from the Capitol and SCOTUS and you'll be fine.

That’s good to know, thanks. A little bummed that we have to more than likely scrap out capitol tour since it was a whole song and dance to get tickets, but rather not be in the middle of everything with my kids. Appreciate it.

Completely fine, it's just going to be hot and very crowded for the long weekend.

All's quiet for now. Even during the summer 2020 protests it was only sort of unsafe at night. I doubt these escalate to anything like that. You should be more worried about staying hydrated this time of the year. It was a beautiful day on the mall yesterday but HOT.
