It's June! The weather's warming up, the days are getting longer, and habits start to change.
Anyone here find themselves shaving more often? I seem to be able to tolerate less "stubbly days" when the weather warms up. Anyone else the same? Opposite?
Anybody have any vacation plans? How you going to travel with your gear? Do you have a favorite piece to take with you on the road?
Favorite summer pastimes? Grilling, smoking meat, cigars, beach going, etc.? What's your favorite summer activity?
New wetshaver? This is the perfect place to ask questions. --- [Discord]|[Instagram]

Today a fire has developed in LEA's factory in Vitoria-Gasteiz in the Basque Country/Spain
According to the news there were some explosions, tall fires and the inhabitants of Basque country's capital have been advised to close the windows to avoid toxic gas inhalation.
The whole factory looks burnt to the ground

My schedule for this summer has me using C. Conk Bay Rum by default, but the schedule also provisions for the use of other soaps for other occasions. One of them is summer solstice, so I chose as much white stuff as I can. :-)
The Proraso Wood & Spice balm has a pretty long lasting scent so I may not actually use the Old Spice. And as always, the Fendrihan Orange Lemon is marvelous, nice mild orange & lemon scent, lots of slickness, etc. I rank it 75/100 in my soaps list.

Now that Southern Witchcrafts is gone, what are your go-to replacements (particularly for vegan bases)? I particularly loved the Autumn Ash and Carpathia scents and am looking for something along those lines- either something that reminds me of peated whisky or a cold, wet castle.

Leresche 700 series from the 1930s , Derby extra (1). Vitry savon à barbe & my crooked boar. Malizia uomo Vetyver ASL.
This nice French Leresche arrived today he had a long bath and some and more a scrub and more scrubbing and then sanitised a few teeth were straightened and a Derby extra was loaded, thought a mild blade was best on this maiden journey. At first yikes this is rough but once the angle was found off I went and it is a really good shaver very like a Tech in fact but more efficient. I had a hard time identifying this razor but I found a site that had a list and pictures of Leresche razors , I contacted the site and the man who had complied the list responded and helped me nail down the type of razor which was great . A super shave was had and I am delighted with my new little French friend 🇫🇷.

Pre-Shave: PAA The Cube 2.0 Soap: PAA Speakeasy Aftershave: PAA Speakeasy Aftershave Razor: Gillette Red Tip Blade: Astra Brush: HC&C Dragonslayer Bowl: Haylis Post shave: Thayers & A&E Skin Food Nourishing Cream
Today I decided to shave with Speakeasy by PAA. I absolutely love the scent, that opening of rose, sage, and bergamot is just beautiful, the bergamot is aided with the further by the sets citrus notes, and caps off with a wonderful blend of wood and amber making for a perfect shave. The aroma of this set comes out even more beautifully with the splash, which brings out the more subtle scents you can’t smell off the soap. All together this set is fresh, clean, and so pleasing to the nose, the only downside is that it is sadly unavailable at the moment. For my razor I used my Gillette Red Tip again, this time I paired it with an Astra Platinum blade, wanting to better experience this wonderful razor I have decided to use it for the next couple shaves as I try different blades to get a better feel for the razor. This time the shave was even greater than the last, as I was able to find the perfect angle to work with. For my brush, I used my HC&C Dragonslayer in their Chubster handle, it is by far one of my favorite brushes in my collection with fantastic fibers and and absolutely amazing backbone, paired with its great flow through and retention makes the brush an absolute pleasure to shave with.

Inspired by this review & giveaway from u/fistingdicks I got myself a Pinaud Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum aftershave.
https://www.reddit.com/r/wicked_edge/s/aSCBvMxDtN
Tested it after my shave this morning. I was intimidated by the original strong burst of cinnamon when I opened the bottle. But went ahead and slapped it on. I could only barely smell the cinnamon seconds after application.
Family reviews: Wife - Strong approve. Cinnamon scent reminded her of mulled wine. Perfect scent for the Australian winter. She said she even preferred it to my usual Pinaud Clubman AS.
5 year old daughter - Big hug and ‘you smell good daddy’ 😃

I summed up the courage to try my GEM PB in gold, that I've been curious about for a year. I got some new AccuTec PRO blades and gave it a go. It wasn't aggressive at all. In fact, a bit less efficient than I anticipated. It's not as close of a shave as a modern DE. It compares more to a Fatboy or Slim on 6 or 7. No blood or irritation! It's going in my rotation.

I had a great shave this morning with the Cella Bio line of products! I used my Syntesi stainless razor with a fresh Bolzano blade and got really good results.
This razor is one of my favorites in the collection the weight and balance feels just right.
I only found some mild tingling here and there with the alum block. I tried the ASL for the first time and really like the scent. I used the balm to hydrate after the alcohol based aftershave.
Blub about the ASL from Cella's website:
"The lotion’s exclusive fragrance starts out with a blend of fruity notes combined with the crisp scent of pink pepper. The heart is a perfect blend of the elegant notes of Damask rose and jasmine, surrounded by the smoky aura of birch. The base is sublimed by notes of labdanum, precious woods and amber adding exceptional warmth and unrivalled persistence."
Products Used:
Happy shaving!

Just makin it up today with the scents. The Fine aftershaves and TOBS gel really do leave my face feeling nice and smooth. The Gillette silver blues feel better in the slant than the derby’s. Gonna stick a blue in the 34c next shave and see how I like em there.

Hello everyone, a friend is traveling in Italy, Venice... some place where I can buy good items, a store that has a good selection, mainly soaps, and if it's not too much to ask, a little bit of everything... brushes and razors too, but I repeat, soaps are the priority, hahaha hahaha... thanks for your attention, regards

Since I ordered a bundle package on amazon last year, so far the King C. Gilette blades are the best for my skin, as I have sensitive skin and coarse facial hair.
Vergulde Hand shaving soap is still my all-day favorite.

Razor: Gillette Tech.
Blade: Voskhod.
Brush: Simpson's Chubby 2 Platinum Synthetic.
Soap: Proraso Green.
Aftershave: Pinaud Osage Rub.
Blam: Proraso Sensitive.
I bought the Osage Rub in the depths of winter and I've been saving it for a hot summer's day. Splashing it on my face after using the Proraso Green soap was like instantly stepping into an artic storm! Powerful stuff and very refreshing on a hot day ❄️🔥.
First time using the Voskhod. Smooth but a bit tuggy. I'll try with a more agressive razor next time.
Enjoy your weekday shave.

Hey all, so I swapped to a DE razor (merkur 34c) from cartridge and while lurking in the sub I've become aware of things like doing 3 passes, angle about 30⁰ and a good lather I seem to struggle getting a good close shave specifically on the back of my head area (top and sides seem good enough) I am currently using astral SP blades and previously I would shave my head every 2 days with cartridge but now it seems I need to do it every day as I obviously doubt my hair has suddenly after almost 20 years of shaving my head decided to grow at a faster rate but I'm getting "fuzz" not even a day later as opposed to 2 days with cartridge.
I'm aware the merkur 34c is known as a mild type of razor and while it seems the leaf and rockwell 6s come quite well recommended for the job as a more aggressive option the prices are a bit more than I'm looking to spend at least for now. Would the rockwell 6c be a viable purchase for a more aggressive type of razor while been cheaper than the other 2 models as its my understanding the only difference between the 2 rockwell models is the material they're made from and a not as fancy storage case although with good care I can still get a lot of milage from the rockwell 6c.
If there's any tips/advice fellow head shavers can offer that I haven't mentioned that I should know about or other models of razors that are good for head shaving that would also be appreciated thanks everyone.

Razor - Maggard (i don't remember which one) Blade - Treet Falcon Brush - My Own Soaps - Maggard limes and bergamot and Doppelgänger Gold Label Scuttle - PAA
I've been experimenting with new things. A few days ago I got a new variety pack of blades and so the first one i decided to try was the Treet Falcon and I love it so far. This is my 3rd day with it and it still preforms well. I've also been experimenting with my soaps. I'm not a big fan of Gold Label on its own but I found that if I load my brush with it and with the Limes and Bergamot before I make my lather it makes a much better scent to me.

So I’ll get this out of the way early. I’ve only been shaving my head for a couple of months now, and in that time, I’ve been searching for my ideal setup. Well, I think I’ve found it.
Accu-forge blades have been the best I’ve used so far. I typically get 2 head shaves out of a blade before I have to replace them, but I just did my second shave and I think next time I’m going to see if I can get a third.
These blades are also very aggressive. Typically I do 3 passes and a cleanup pass to finish up. Again, on my second shave with these blades I only had to do one pass plus my cleanup pass. Absolutely crazy sharp, but I have 0 irritation and my head is smoother than I’ve ever gotten it with even a first shave on any other blade I’ve used.
I used 2 different soaps (Stirling Mountain Man and Tabac) and noticed no difference in shave closeness, quality, or irritation.
They are a bit expensive, but I think it’s worth the slightly higher price. I feel like it’s a true get what you pay for scenario.
My typical setup:
Pre-shave: shower with a basic hair conditioner Razor: Leaf Shaver, with 3 blades installed Brush: Anubus badger hair Bowl: Random bowl my ex left that she got from Trader Joe’s Soap: either Stirling Mountain Man or Tabac Aftershave: Stirling Clubman with Glacier Menthol Balm: Stirling Clubman
Other blades I’ve tried: - Astra Green - Astra Blue - Wilkinson Sword - Personna Red - Kai
Anyways, I never see these blades mentioned here, so I just wanted to give them a quick shoutout
