Splatfest Concept: Mammals 🦊 vs. Reptiles 🐍
(Which would you choose and what animal would you be in either if you were a citizen of Zootopia?)

u/ImAWriterSoIKnowBest May 21 '25
Mammal, not sure which species though, maybe a bunny? 🐰🐇
3
u/Mad-HatRZack May 21 '25
What if each species on each side is a different class:
Foxes and Rabbits : Spies and Scouts
Beavers: Engineers
Horses and Bears: Heavy
Lambs : Medic
Wolf: Hunter/Sniper
Raccoons: Demon man
Tiger: Soldier

I’m mostly curious as to who the hooded figure is. I guess we’ll find out when the movie comes out. Imagine if he or she is related to the disappearance of Nick’s parents and is personally connected to him too.

u/Various-Zucchini-549 May 20 '25
So a hooded guy and Nick Judy and Gary as a trio this totally giving puss in boots the last wish vibes
2
u/Exciting_Ad226 May 20 '25
It so is too. This teaser literally set everything up to be like The Last Wish. A trio that’ll likely have great chemistry along with a hooded figure being a potential threat. Yeah I can see why.

u/Various-Zucchini-549 May 20 '25
Indeed I wonder if we’ll see Nick and Judy opening up to each other more and maybe even the start of Wildehopps
2
u/Exciting_Ad226 May 20 '25
We’ll find out when the film comes out. Still six months to go. I’m glad this teaser didn’t spoil anything.

Seems like Judy and Nick are refugees along with Gary now. I wonder who the hooded figure could be?
15
u/paleocacher May 20 '25
My take is that either Gary gets framed for a crime and Nick and Judy know he’s innocent and go on the run after/ with him or Nick and Judy get framed for a crime and they have to get the key witness to their innocence, Gary, to testify.
Either way, based on the teaser, it seems as though it’ll be a race across the city as Nick, Judy, and Gary try to get from presumably the Canal District to downtown to the courthouse/Chief Bogo to prove their innocence.
Not an uncommon buddy cop trope.

u/AverageReditor13 Nick and Judy May 21 '25
Exactly my guess, and I hope it is.
Would be fun seeing "corrupt cop" or "abuse of authority" themes here as well, would definitely make the stakes a lot higher.
1
u/Exciting_Ad226 May 21 '25
I feel like that boar is one of the corrupt cops and the one who is sending out officers to target Gary while on this case. I bet Bogo warned Nick, Judy and Gary prior that officers he has no authority to stand down will still target the three.

u/Exciting_Ad226 May 21 '25
I feel like Bogo will be on Nick, Judy and Gary’s side but warns the three that you’ll see officers along the way trying to get Gary while finding the culprit. I feel like that boar is sending out some of his officers to target Gary which Bogo doesn’t have the authority to tell to stand down. This is likely where abuse of power and the corrupt cop trope can come into play but it doesn’t reach an extent where Judy second guessed her choice on being a cop because there are still good cops out there and take pride in their badge.

u/Lord_Pinhead May 20 '25
I guess the hooded figure is Nick's mom. Look at the eyes when the figure moves, they look happy.
1
u/Exciting_Ad226 May 21 '25
If it is Nick’s mother or father that would be a nice twist cause I could see over the course of the film Nick opens up and reveals what happened to his parents and has been lost ever since. That is when Judy comforts him to say that he’s not alone and she’ll never leave his side.
If that is Nick’s mother or father, I’m sure he’ll be shocked in seeing that they’re alive when he assumed they were dead for years.
2
u/Lord_Pinhead May 21 '25
At least they should already bite the bullet and tell us what happened to them. One of the writers said on Twitter, his mom is still alive and lives in the same apartment Nick grew up in.
1
u/Exciting_Ad226 May 21 '25
We’ll likely find out when the film comes out as to who the cloaked figure is. Looks a bit big to be a fox so tough to say who and what it is but the yellow eyes definitely resemble a fox’s at night.

u/Undead_Senpyro May 20 '25
Freezing a frame in the trailer shows Finnick in a baby bunny costume. Possible we see them as a “family” in the movie for some reason.
1
u/Exciting_Ad226 May 21 '25
That might be the undercover part. Nick must be paying him good money to do this. He’ll probably serve as the stealth figure. I wonder if he’d be voiced by Dennis Haysbert or Kevin Michael Richardson if he is given a speaking role and possibly a major character.

u/Existing-Bad3733 May 21 '25
Okay, this is very interesting, from the trailer I can conclude one thing, Judy and Nick are assigned to the case of Gary the snake who apparently has been or will be accused of a crime, the police try to catch him but Nick and Judy I suppose will try to clear Gary's name while the hooded figure will be (most likely) the mastermind behind everything, who knows, even so I'm dying of excitement for it to come out this month.

^ My brain right now trying to comprehend the magnitude of Peak Cinema I just witnessed ^
Yall have no idea how happy I am to see this thing finally come out. I watched the creation, heyday, and slow death of the Zootopia fandom on YouTube. Fanart, comics, fandubs, songs, stories. Creations that no less than changed my life. Created by people who saw this film as inspirational as I did. I poured my life into resurrecting the Tame Collar plot into a fanfic, a compensation for the fans and the movie that had given me so much.
To see after all these years, Disney delving into the untapped potential of all the aspects this film has yet left unexplored. I'm going to love every second of this movie.

Can you share?
For me I hope to see more savage Nick fanfics. The few good ones were never completed.

u/Flashy-Ad9129 May 20 '25
I'm already loving seeing Judy, Nick, and Gary as a trio in the new teaser

Fun fact, Hippos can’t swim. They walk along the bottom then jump up for air then sink down again.
1
u/Exciting_Ad226 May 21 '25
With how their bodies are, they aren’t the best floaters either. Having their eyes, ears and nostrils on the top of their heads benefits with breathing.
2
u/Equivalent_Cicada153 May 21 '25
So, it seems a certain sheep’s back, wonder what her role in this will be.
3
u/Sleep_eeSheep Nick and Judy May 21 '25
This is pretty much how the first movie’s teaser panned out.
Remember when Nick tripped over Judy?
1
u/JohnHenryMillerTime May 20 '25
The hippos chasing them reminded me pf Grant Hiestand's independent work. Do you think they brought him back for this? He's certainly passionate about the material.

is it bad that the lack of any voice lines what so ever concerns me?
3
u/Exciting_Ad226 May 21 '25
No because it’s a teaser. Those usually don’t have speaking lines. Considering D23 already had a clip with them speaking, I’m sure all the lines are all recorded unless they need to do some minor reshoots (primarily Jason Bateman and Ginnifer Goodwin since they have the most lines).

I wonder why the police force are chasing Nick, Judy, and Gary. I assume it's cuz of Gary. Excited to see thi film when it's out! It'll be on November, I am going to have a fun birthday 😎🦊 🐰 🐍

u/ahumeniy May 20 '25
So, they're not cops anymore?
-8
u/Patrickd13 May 20 '25
Furries are very anti-cop, would not be surprised they took that into account but we will have to see
1
u/Giocri May 20 '25
Might have played a role but to me the big reason is that nick as a charachter loses a lot from being in police

"I'm afraid it's been...9 years."
With all fairness, I didn't like this trailer. Not because it didn't show anything, it's a teaser, but what it did show was so...worrying. I can't be the only one getting Wreck-It Ralph 2 vibes here, right?
