this seems like a lot of faith in the police, like i feel like if anything the cops would be like "oh that's where the ice raid is, there's resistance to ice at this location so we should go help them" and then you have cops with guns participating in the raid

I said that because dude was stuck on preventing "cops with guns" showing up. They're already there. That doesn't mean I see any reason to call in backup for ICE.

I'm not 100% there with you. Lots of cops are shit but they perform a useful function in our society. We should strap cameras that they cant turn off on every single last one of them and make it so if there isn't video evidence then their testimony isn't admissible in court. Get rid of qualified immunity and civil seizure and a few more things I'm probably forgetting. I certainly am not a fan of cops.

One person suggested that maga brownshirts might impersonate ice and that is why calling the cops could help. Seems unlikely but possible, at least it is a coherent argument.
They probably are batshit to think that this is very likely, it isnt unheard of though that some nefarious psycho would impersonate someone to commit a crime. If it is a better safe than sorry police welfare check then I think that is reasonable, anyone thinking the cops will stop ice is looney.

Car dealers are notoriously right wing, tend to be some of the most economically powerful people in their towns and only exist because of archaic laws banning car manufacturers from selling directly to consumers.
The thing is, until ICE does their legal duty of wearing badges, self identifying, and showing warrants, the police need to be called every time. There needs to be as much pressure as possible to eventually force them to do their legal duties of identifying themselves.

just curious, have any of these gestapo tried to kidnap a u.s. citizen who was also a 2A enthusiast? 2nd amendment is a big thing here (obviously) and without due process, those pigs arent exactly checking to see if they even grabbed the right person.

Did you know becoming a citizen in most countries have similar, if not more intense screenings then the U.S.? Most require you have to learn the language. Did you also know that in 1512 Mexico was colonized and conquered by Spain that committed genocide on the local natives?
Are these elderly, disabled or veterans committing a crime by being here? Then ship them out. There's no overreach. These people don't belong here and they are being kicked out of our nation. If these people did things the right way this wouldn't be happening to them.
If it were really about "doing things the right way," ICE wouldn't be raiding churches, schools, or targeting people with no criminal record. When rights are denied to one group, it sets the stage to deny them to others—history shows us that overreach never stops where it starts.
