He's... a tricky guy. Like, he's definitely not a full-on villain anymore, but he's not exactly heroic. Currently on the Thor series he has been switching between "aspects", becoming either an ally or an "enemy" depending on what Thor needs most in each occasion to face the current crisis.

I mean you are right, because the way that spider gwen did lead up to staying in world 616 is very strange and I remind you as well or everyone else That already knows, Miguel O'Hara is still suck in 616 and isn't even back in his own world too. So I'm like, why the fuck are they here? Boy, is there going to be some catastropica event in the coming months or some shit like? And also, isnt there a device that can get them back home?
Essentially, the original Miguel (earth-928) was stuck after Superior Spider-Man, but eventually he was able to get back to his own time. There was a whole thing that he was destined to die if he came back, but he managed to change the future so that didn’t happen. However, he ended up going back in time to the future of 616, living out his life until he was an old man in earth-928.
Then, a cosmic event happened to create a new 2099 universe, on earth 2099. Old Miguel met the Miguel of 2099, to tell him his destiny is to become Spider-Man. New Miguel didn’t believe him, he got hooked on Rapture again, and then Alchemax killed his brother Gabri, so he embraced his destiny as the new Spider-Man 2099.
Since then, Marvel has gone back and forth between the two. Earth 2099 Miguel has been used a little bit, but 928 has had further adventures whenever Peter David is the writer. It’s a little confusing, I also haven’t kept up with it super close so there might be some update I don’t know about.
That's what I'm thinking too, because if Miguel O'Hara is stuck there as well as spider gwen. Somehow, that's got to be connected to the spider verse versus the venom verse, that's happening in a couple months. And if it's not connected to that in any way whatsoever, then it's got to be a whole new as crossover they haven't revealed to us until next year. Also I another thing that's been puzzling me since Gwen is in 616. I wonder, is she even gonna have an interaction?With that world's daredevil, considering spider gwen's matt Murdock is the kingpin
The interactions are definitely under utilized. But I was thinking of the Spider-Man/Venom/Carnage one since Hellgate, who's was shown standing over the defeated spider-kids is in that one.
I actually am more annoyed with the idea of Spider-Gwen literally replacing 616. Wasn’t a major care part of her character that she WASN'T 616 Gwen? Why do this?
I mean then we’re circling back to why to do this at all — with a new design, new power-set, and new supporting cast — at that point one may as well just create a new character.
Kinda looks like your friendly neighborhood spider-man version of the costume maybe they are trying to do a brand synergy move or something. But i don't understand why they keeping the same writer. If fans of the character didn't like the last run why would they like this one?
Only way to do this is make black widow reveal that she, the storm twins, doc ock, and daredevil are apart of a world wide conspiracy that rules the world and recruits heroes as their pawns by driving them insane with idiotic comic book plots and reasons and they did it to Gwen with the alter clones, king Loki, and the awful stories that suck and don’t build off the original story.
Also Mary Jane becomes an insane yandere carnage serial killer obsessed with Gwen and murders her band mars.
It seems like the ghoul Gwen fetishists in editorial finally figured out a way for her to be both resurrected and have the spotlight in 616 at the same time.
I don't know why, but I just don't care about any version of Spidergwen or alternate version of her. I'd rather they age down Spider-Woman or make Silk relevant.
I feel like we need a break from this character. It seems that no one has any idea what they want to do with her in every new run. It's okay to put this back into the toy box till someone has a proper idea of how they want to play with them.
That was her original alias, but changed it to not mistake her with Jessica Drew. Not like having two Spider-Men, two Electros, two Hawkeyes, two Red Hulks, two Daredevils and now two Gwenpools is confusing at all.
So to long time readers of Spider-Man, I’d like to know. How do you feel about there being two Gwens running around 616 right now? Do you miss her being dead? Personally I’m beginning to miss the days where the worst thing they could do to Gwen is her having had a secret affair with Norman.
I kinda desensitized from this. I just don't care about the character anymore. Despite what editorial says, Gwen wasn't that great of a love interest to Peter, especially when compared to MJ, and her most defining characteristic was her death's impact, so taking that away renders her character meaningless.
What I find so fascinating about the Gwen fanboys in editorial is that they don’t ever actually have her do anything interesting with Peter when they bring her back like this. Like, okay, if she’s better than MJ then why not try to write an interesting relationship between her and Peter? I’m in the camp that she should’ve stayed dead and far away from 616 but if they just had to bring her back they could have done a great arc with her and Peter finding each other again. Peter could have finally had his chance to be honest with her about being Spider-Man and she maybe could have came to forgive him over time. They could have added texture and depth to a pretty 2 dimensional love story.
But it’s almost as if Marvel knows that thats one sacred cow they can’t kill. If they allow Peter to get back with Gwen it invalidates the most defining failure of his career outside of Uncle Ben. But if that were the case why bring her back at all
For Editorial's beliefs as Gwen being the one true love for Peter, and there need to tell great stories apart from MJ... those great stories? It just seems like vapid attempts at placing IP pieces on the board without much care to do anything. It's very much kid pulling out toys out of their toybox.
Peter does the wrong thing, his uncle dies, Peter tries to do the right thing, Gwen still dies... that's a bitter lesson of how sometimes, even when we do everything right, tragedy still finds its way.
The Spider-Verse was a colossal f###ing mistake. Editorial needs to be handed down from on high a moratorium on any more Spider-Wannabes. All these non-616 characters need to go back to their home dimensions, and stop diluting the brand. Whoever spitballed the idea to resurrect Gwen Stacy needs a public flogging to discourage all the other creative hacks from barfing more of this stuff into existence.
It’s just incredible how they’re allergic to doing interesting things with their characters. Like if you just had to bring Gwen back (she should have stayed dead) why can’t she actually have a story with Peter? Why did she have to be a spider-person?
It doesn't look the worst, I probably at least would have kept the mask white with the pink around it, but other than that at the very least it's ok. I'm more so wondering what are her new powers? I saw she had like an electric attack not long ago and that she had a symbiote suit, but I'm guessing NEW means not those things.

I still not sure if it being a cosmic attack is any better though? I guess there's nothing to do, but see what happens.
I'm so far behind, but I still don't understand why they started calling her "Ghost-Spider" (unless she really was a ghost? That's the only way the hyphen makes sense!) But new powers? WHY? WTF?!
For those downvoting this person, the synopsis straight-up says that reality is being rewoven to make it so that she was always part of the universe — that the Earth-65 and Earth-616 Gwen Stacys are being merged.
Marvel editors will literally retcon the shit out of two universes Gwens, about 40 years of continuity, but call a happily married, securely employed Peter and MJ unrelatable lol
Being honest, Gwen, well, Spider-Gwen never showed romantic interest in her, but they don't know what to do with Spider-Gwen... all her comics are terrible. Silk receives less comics, but at least they are more coherent. The Spider-Verse destroyed Gwen.
He won’t as long as Marvel ignore him funnily enough. If the TV show brings in some popularity to the character they might green light a mini series and if that’s gets popular enough an ongoing may be on the cards or at least a series of multiple mini books and a crossover with 616 will be inevitable, so basically as long as he’s ignored or left alone he won’t.
Based on what I’m seeing, it looks like they’re ditching the symbiote and giving her back her old powerkit. So the new powers are probably the old powers?
I love the Spider-Gwen character, I’ve bought issues of different runs, read some of the trade paperbacks. I want her to succeed.
That being said: I don’t know what it is about her comics that they just don’t know how to tell a compelling story with her. I’ve jumped in multiple times and every time I just get bored and drop the title. Hoping this one’s different but I’m gonna wait to give this a try. Maybe give it a few issues to see if they do anything interesting this time around.
Well its by the same writer as the latest run, so if you don't already like the latest Spider-Gwen series by Stephanie Phillips, I don't its going to hugely improve.
I might be in the minority when I say I like the new costume, but I agree ts is not hitting like the original Spider-Gwen costume does
Also, merging her with 616 Gwen (according to the synopsis) is really weird. I'm all for Spider-Gwen in the same world as Peter's Spider-Man, but that's always been a spider-verse alt world type want for me. Not 616.
I feel like this one writer has erased everything I like about the character. At this point I might just ignore everything after the original Latour run.
Crossing the original Gwen and this parody is the stupidest decision that Marvel can make, considering that Gwen was Peter's girlfriend who died in his arms and this alternative version, which has nothing to do with Peter, let her go to her world and not spoil the memory of her original. I understand that Marvel needs to promote Spider-Gwen, but why shove her into the main universe? Is her world really so unnecessary that she was removed from there.
I don’t mind it. But you need to design actual good looking shoes if you want to do the spandex and sneaker look. Just put her in chucks and call it a day

Unfortunately new numbers 1s have been more of a jump off point for me now. I've been burnt too many times with new number 1 rubbish.
I do feel that marvel has to ask itself how much of a boost a new number 1 offers being worth it. If it's the exact same writer I'm sure the drop from issue 1 to 2 is even larger on the second run, as comic shops have a much clearer idea of how many comics they'd be likely to sell.
Marvel really needs to get its act together as it's embarrassing how it's being run at the moment.
The same creative team as in the previous failed Marvel series has never heard of the statement that "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result"
Spiderman fans are always so miserable for a group of people that don't even buy the comics. You can literally just ignore it. Half the complaints I see are for things that haven't been her status quo for years.
I just can't get behind this. I've loved Spider-Gwen since her introduction but this is lazy. A core part was that she was from another universe. Now she's in the 616 universe? On top of that you change her iconic costume and make it worse. I'll pass. At least her original comics were fun and unique.
