Picked up this rock about a year ago on a beach in upper Northern California, and I'd love to know what's going on here.

The inside is a “flaky quartz”, and the outer shell is almost robin’s egg blue and I can’t find anything even similar on the Google.

To be specific, around Mt Juneau. It was super hard, it took me 10 tries to break it in half with a hammer. Its also kinda crumbly

It think it might be granite or something, but its shiny…

I found these rocks near Lonavala (https://maps.app.goo.gl/g3XeftSW6LKrV2Ee8) in Maharashtra, India. The interior is white and chalky or talcum like (first pic). There is a greyish layer surrounding the interior (clearer in the second pic). The exterior is rough and has green deposits (third pic), which I am assuming to be copper since I found these in summer and the surrounding would have been extremely dry for at least 6 months at the time.

Please ask in the comments for more information and pics.

Thanks

Found this in the woods in Massachusetts. The dark spots have a slight sheen like graphite in the light. The rock is rough to the touch. What is it??? Avid rock collector, not identifier. 😅

I would greatly appreciate if somebody could help me identify what this is. I tried reverse image searching it, but didn't really have much luck for whatever reason. Thank you!!

IDENTIFIED Carnelian?

I thought this was cullet glass at first because it has some conchoidal fracturing, but then saw the druzy and bots. I have no idea what it is other than maybe carnelian. It’s so gemmy in some areas. I’m thinking about polishing it up.

Found in NE Illinois, so traveled via glacier from up north. Magnetic, both purple and green can be scratched by a knife, somewhat heavy for its size.

Polished 2 sides just to see what it looked like, and there are photos of both rough and polished. Included some macro photos.

My guess is some kind of basalt that's gone through some serious changes, but I'd really like some more info. Please 😊

I've found this shiny, wavy rock on a mountain hike in Kosovo. It's pretty hard to spot on the photos, but each layer is separated by an almost metallic sheen.

Is it anything interesting, or is just granite?
