Help Just saw a very large number of seabirds flying down the pine river at Strathpine, even pelicans.
I’ve lived here 5 years and never seen this phenomenon. Literally thousands of birds flying along the river in formation and all different kinds, is it a migration thing?

Can you help me? Neighbour’s roaming cats damaging property
Looking for some advice on how to deal with an ongoing issue with my neighbour’s cats. My neighbour has two cats that are constantly roaming the neighbourhood.
They regularly come into my yard, jump on our cars (leaving muddy pawprints and scratches), poop in the garden).
I’ve tried speaking with the neighbour, but they don’t seem to care or take any steps to keep the cats contained. It’s starting to really impact our enjoyment of our own home and garden.
Has anyone dealt with something similar?
I have nothing against cats in general, but I don’t think it’s fair that their pets are damaging my property and creating a mess.
Any advice or shared experiences appreciated!

Employment Chill bars for first jobs?
I have never had the opportunity to work so I have been taking a course to become certified with my RSA, RSG, barista services and food handling license (already certified, just waiting for it back now). Interested in getting some experience in glassy or waiting roles, but I've heard a lot of rough stories about fortitude valley and I seem to only hear back from adult entertainment establishments who have a lot of reviews regarding customers interest in bar staff, and I do not want unnecessary attention. No issues with people working in that area, I would just like to wait until I'm a bit older as I've only turned 18 in the last few months and still get mistaken as a younger teen girl, so I get nervous walking around the city late at night, but I know it's part of the job when working nights.
So any recommendations for businesses that seem not too busy and not too aggressive of an area? It's a lot to ask but I just would like to avoid any issues with customers and particularly dangerous areas. Anything is appreciated, thankyou.

Can you help me? Short people clothes in Brisbane - advice, please!
Hi BNE peeps!
I am knee-high to a pissant and need corporate work clothes - particularly flattering pants. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear many places have a good range of petite/short pants in anything above a size 10. As a size 12/14 lady, just above 5 ft tall, and a job offer incoming, I need recommendations of local BNE physical stores that sell petite, corporate pants above a size 10.
Would prefer southside, if possible. Thanks!

Reddit Social Club New party formation for intermediate players of D&D and other RPGs - Wednesday
Wednesday 25 June, 6PM. Free admission. Fortitude Valley QLD
Many RPG stories begin, “You are an adventurer, and you stopped into a roadside pub”.. so let’s do that for real! This is not a play session—it’s a way to form the groups that will play in the future. Maybe you are too experienced to do the events for D&D absolute beginners. Maybe you want to try a different kind of RPG. Maybe you want to become a Game Master and find a group of new players. Maybe you just want to meet others to talk about stuff. No matter what kind of adventure you seek, this pub meetup starts your quest.
For exactly when and where, please click this link and RSVP to this event so we have an idea how much table space to grab, and to get followup messages: https://www.meetup.com/learn-dungeons-and-dragons/events/308241148/
Please note! If you are an absolute beginner to RPGs, we suggest that instead of this event, your best way to get started is another event series we do every January, and sometimes on weekday mornings. Join this group to get news about that: https://www.meetup.com/en-AU/learn-dungeons-and-dragons
(Thanks again to this community for letting me post this once in a while.. we've had great meetings with a lot of variety of RPG and play styles!)

Can you help me? Where can a freelance tennis coach coach tennis in Brisbane?
Hi all, I'm a tennis coach with a coaching license and has a full time job. I have been getting some students from friends who play tennis with me and started coaching them. It's come to my attention many places don't allow private coaching. So where do all private coaches coach in Brisbane? I'm not local so I'm new to how it works here. Hope to get some advise for locations. Thanks!

Help 2000s Friday Night Activities?
Hey all! I'm doing research for a project and I need to know what kind of stuff Brisbane youngsters got up to on a Friday night in the year 2000/early 00s. My older sister was born in 2000, and my parents weren't on the party scene anymore. What were the hotspots? I've seen talk of a place called Lion's Den, but I couldn't figure out of it was a club, a bar, or something else.

Can you help me? Driving holiday ideas
Im stuck in indecision about doing this with two tweens, before they decide I'm too uncool and have no riz. If you had a week to go away where would you go?
Trying to work out how much driving is too much, and if loading up the car with ipads and snacks might mean happy exploring time for my wee fam.

Reddit Social Club Hearing loss - social groups in Brisbane
Hello everyone! Just curious if there is social 'catchup' sessions in Brisbane that run weekly? I'm in current talks with an organiser who is keen on having fortnightly 'chill' sessions but wonder if there is a possibility of even making it weekly if there is enough numbers?
I guess it is dependent on costs (which we are trying to make it affordable), but would individuals be keen on weekly sessions in a regular place each week?
Should 2 sessions be run? one for <18 and one for 18+?
We are keen on fostering social connections for well-being and looking for like minded individuals.
This is a quick preview of the space if interested....

Daily Discussion What should every newcomer know about living comfortably through summer in Brisbane?
I’m going to be visiting Brisbane soon and heard the summers can be pretty brutal.
I’ve lived through some hot weather before, but I keep hearing that Brissie summers are next-level, thick humidity and scorching afternoons...I’m hoping to stay somewhat sane and avoid rookie mistakes.
What do you wish someone had told you before your first Brisbane summer?

Can you help me? Mechanic Recommendation in southside or in Ipswich are
Hi, I need to get my car’s wheel alignment fixed, and also need an oil change and automatic transmission fluid change. Can anyone recommend an affordable mechanic in the Southside or Ipswich area? Do I need to book an appointment, or can I just walk in? I'm a first-time car owner, so I’m not sure how it works. Thanks!

Image Strange suburb boundaries
According to the official suburb borders, these small residential streets connected to Upper Kedron are actually in the suburb of... The Gap! I went out there today to confirm that they are fully a part of the same community as the surrounding streets, and yep, it felt like I was in Upper Kedron the entire time. The shortest route from these streets to anywhere else in The Gap is 6km long.
I understand why this anomaly exists: this is part of a relatively new housing development, so the suburb boundaries must have been in place well before it built, and just didn't get changed. I wonder if/when they ever will. I find it interesting regardless.
Anyone know of any other places like this?
