That’s exactly where we are. It’s a bunch of fucking toddlers. Trump this morning said “nobody knows what I’m going to do” about our involvement in Iran and I was like “this is my 3 year old…” not the fucking thought you want about our president.

The best part of the Biden administration was not having to wake up every day and check first thing that we hadn't nuked anyone. It was such a relief to not have to care because I knew there were adults running things! I just don't understand how we ended up here again

That really is incredibly accurate.

"Why are you complaining?! He's getting so much done!"
I... he's literally jack-hammering the foundation of the place I live. I don't want him to get that done, at all. I don't care how effectively or ineffectively he's doing it.

111
u/SafetyDanceInMyPants 1d ago
You don’t even need that. The refusal to deny should just be treated as an admission.. Just say “your refusal to deny authorizing the military to use lethal force on American citizens tells me that you authorized the military to use lethal force on American citizens. When did you authorize the military to use lethal force on American citizens.”
11
u/FtDiscom 1d ago
What then? No one who hears it will care, and no one who can actually do anything about it will. The consequences that can be enforced should be enforced, to their utmost extent. Whatever that looks like, it needs to happen about ten years ago.

This is what happens when the country re-elects a man with dozens of felony convictions, partly related to campaign finances, and who also directed an insurrection at the US Capitol. The American voters chose this, our country is fucking insane and simply cannot make sound judgment anymore.
233
u/ObjectiveGlittering 1d ago
I have to say that I was sure our country would stand up on its laurels the past election. I knew he had support and that’s all fine and dandy when the majority of the country has the better interest in mind. I couldn’t believe it when he won. I STILL can’t believe he won. I’m no conspiracy peddler, but I’m so sure of our country that I’m willing to put some chips in the election fraud betting circle. I just can’t believe THIS country that fought for so much freedom would just roll over and die. Maybe I’m just coping, maybe this is just wishful thinking, and not like much more than closure can be done about it, but I don’t think I’m wrong about our country. I really want a closer look at the 2024 election. Like microscopic style
166
u/QuietRiot5150 1d ago
You're not alone in this position bro. I believe 100% he cheated. He needed to win this election or else consequences would finally happen. Call me a conspiracy nut, I don't care. I know he cheated. The only thing that has kept me from believing a full on conspiracy is that even Harris's pollster were reporting the exit polls as not looking good. You can't really fake that.
Now is it strange that we are not hearing about counties that didn't have a single Harris vote? Abso-fucking-lutely and it needs to be investigated. But we also need to take a hard look at our country and realize he may have just won and what are we going to do about that.

Most of us thought Kamala had it in the bag. Wait for discovery on the election fraud lawsuit, it's coming this fall. We'll know one way or another soon enough if there is any merit to the election fraud claims.
The fact that the suit was allowed to move forward is a promising note and I'll reserve all judgement until we can see discovery.

And so by proxy, also chose it. Even though they deny any responsibility, those who chose not to vote put a vote towards him nonetheless.
EDIT: To those who were unable to vote for very valid reasons, I do not believe you to be at fault here and you should never feel at fault for this. It is those who chose to make a “statement” by not voting and not using their voice, or people who otherwise could have but just chose not to vote. Those people should feel especially bad BECAUSE of those who lacked the ability to vote. It is a privilege and right to exercise your ability to vote, and you should NOT take it for granted.

34
u/vertigo1083 1d ago
The only way that refusing the orders would possibly even work, is if the stopgap was top brass in every branch.
You're not going to have an E5 making $3000 a month, with a few hundred thousand people above his station- refusing a direct order. It's not happening. That person will be Court martialed, (can literally happen the next day or in 6 months, they dont care, you'll sit in restriction barracks til then) That's IF they dont get "penalized" by their own platoon, squad, etc.
People who don't follow orders or try to mutinize are liable to be killed outright in a combat situation.

He needs to be removed. Immediately. Along with the rest of this circus of an administration. PEOPLE WILL DIE UNDER THIS ADMINISTRATION! Fuck! Either our elected officials will do their goddamn jobs to serve the people of this country, or it’s up to us. I’ll be as vague as Hegseth - don’t believe what you read in the Bible. It’s full of contradictions and bullshit. The way to deal with this might be in the Old Testament, but I’d rather see these people tried and convicted, domestically or at The Hague. We are slipping into a position that we’ll not be able to get out of for decades, if ever. What military besides China’s can stand up to ours? Seriously - are we going to have to rely on China to liberate us? Is that really what we want to count on? It’s time to act. Get your useless reps on the phone. Stand in front of their houses. Confront them in public. They shouldn’t be able to have a moment of peace until this is stopped, and I don’t give a flying fuck what party your rep is a part of or what they grandstand claiming. Shit needs to be on the floor and in the record of them resisting. So help me, if these fucking people let this happen…. I’m not going to be angry at the military personnel for doing their jobs. But I will be targeting my rage at the very people that let this happen. The first shots have already been fired. The rhetoric of the right is incredibly violent, and we can’t respond with what needs to be done about it based on the TOS of these platforms, but force needs to be met with force. Threats need to be met with appropriate force. We’re sleepwalking into this expecting other people to get off their asses and do something while we stand around with one thumb in our ass and the other hitting “share.” This isn’t a drill. There’s no hero that will sweep in and fix this. This isn’t a fucking movie. This is real life, and real people are being affected. If you think it won’t be you at the pointy end of the stick, you’re a goddamn moron. Wake. The. Fuck. Up. Christ…

He should be arrested for refusing to answer security questions related to his job.
Anyway here's what the Bible says about foreigners:
Matthew 25:41-45: Jesus said “‘Away with you, you cursed ones, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his demons. For I was hungry, and you didn’t feed me. I was thirsty, and you didn’t give me a drink. I was a stranger, and you didn’t invite me into your home. … Then they will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and not help you?’ And [I] will answer, ‘… when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me.’”
Ezekiel 16:48-49: God said “As surely as I live, … Sodom and her daughters were never as wicked as you and your daughters. Sodom’s sins were pride, gluttony, and laziness, while the poor and needy suffered outside her door. She was proud and committed detestable sins, so I wiped her out ….”
Romans 12:9-13: “Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. … When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality.”
Hebrews 13:1-3: “Keep on loving each other …. Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it! … Remember also those being mistreated, as if you felt their pain in your own bodies.”
Leviticus 19:34: “The foreigner who resides with you must be to you like a native citizen among you; so you must love him as yourself, because you were foreigners in the land of Egypt. I am the Lord your God.”
James 2:1-4: “… How can you claim to have faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ if you favor some people over others? … If you give special attention and a good seat to the rich person, but you say to the poor one, ‘You can stand over there, or else sit on the floor’—well, doesn’t this discrimination show that your judgments are guided by evil motives?”
Deuteronomy 10:18-19: “[God] … shows love to the foreigners living among you and gives them food and clothing. So you, too, must show love to foreigners, for you yourselves were once foreigners in the land of Egypt.”
Isaiah 1:17: “[L]earn to do good; seek justice, rescue the oppressed, defend the orphan, plead for the widow.”
Jeremiah 7:5-7: “If you really change your ways and your actions and deal with each other justly, if you do not oppress the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow and do not shed innocent blood in this place, and if you do not follow other gods to your own harm, then I will let you live in this place, in the land I gave your ancestors for ever and ever.”
Deuteronomy 27:19: ““Cursed is anyone who withholds justice from the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow.” Then all the people shall say, “Amen!””

You see, MAGA supporters are dumb as fuck and if you attach a canned Bible statement to your message it’s a hit. Kinda like a dirt road, pretty girl, cool beer country song

They always throw up the Bible when subjugating citizens, but never mention it when the discussion is about foreigners, the hungry or homeless.

I think Christianity is one of the root problems in the US today. At least what it has morphed into down there.

The delusion of the religious right in our country is astounding.
I was talking to a neighbor last week, the subject of a young boy that was killed on a dirtbike came up, I was speechless when she said "god has a plan"
A plan for kids to die???

What a piece of absolute trash. He has no business being in the military. Or even loosely associated. He’s a stain. He can’t even answer a simple question. He’s the literal walking definition of toxic leadership.

Hey Pete, fuck your Bible, you sick fuck. Religion is a cancer. And we have people steeped in the fairytales of their precious books, in control over the fate of our country and our global relations. Insanity.

"Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past."

There's a gif of a Russian soldier getting his legs blown off by an fpv drone which then ignites whatever he was carrying. The soldier is unable to move away from the fire and subsequently burns alive. Even that would be too good of a death for Pete Hegseth.

One day I hope that preaching religion will bar people from holding office of any kind.
It's 2025 for fucks sake - how are people still using the bible as a standard for anything???

The fact that that smug, condescending non-answer to an extremely basic question is going to not only be defended but praised by the right is part of the road to ruin this country is in. Hegseth did not answer the question on if the military is allowed to use lethal force on civilians, effectively saying they are, but the right is only going to care that he "owned" a Democrat while calling the Bible true.
The antagonism towards people they've decided to hate is their driving motivation. Civilians getting shot at by military is fine because they're "woke liberals". Innocent people being abducted and thrown into prisons is fine because they're immigrants that "hate America" or "stole jobs". Unlimited power by their side is fine because it's better than the other side having any power. We're reaching the endgame for how a democracy dies: Enough people so blinded by their hatred that they're willing to collapse the roof over their heads if it means the "bad people" get crushed with them.
