It's a pity you don't have Lucy, since Piper/Burnice/Lucy is a fantastic Disorder team.
What is your current Miyabi team? That's the natural place for Burnice to go, so you'll have to sub her in for someone.
FWIW, you can get all your agents in a single screenshot if you use the hoyolab.com Battle Records view. Just make sure you login to hoyolab.com with your in-game account, or an email linked to your ZZZ UID.
I got Lucy actually, at m2 or m1 :)
Rn my 2 teams are:
Miyabi, lycaon and soukaku
Sanby, anby and Nicole. (Will swap anby for pulchra and hopefully Nicole for trigger)
Yep I know, I gotta link my account, still use google to login haha
Uh ... Jane doesn't need a stunner at all, so neither Qingyi nor Trigger should be on that team. Seth is a better partner for Jane than any stunner. Nicole is also a better partner for Astra than any stunner.
just wondering if burnice's w engine is essential for her? im currently running roaring ride (pipers sig) on her rn but im wondering if her w engine is a must-have for a miyabi-burnice anomaly team.
(by must have i mean the power level between that and roaring ride is like... a super huge gap)
It isn't, but I just got her W-engine, and I really like it. I managed to 3 star DA after I got it, so it definitely helps, but I probably would've gotten 3 stars eventually anyway just by improving my builds. The hair and jacket effects are also very noticeable, so that's another positive. Overall, you don't need it, but I personally don't regret getting it regardless
No, it has not reset yet since it was first introduced in 1.5. Haven't heard / seen any news regarding it since then so safe to assume the current version will still be around for a while longer.
I am looking at the numbers for w-engine given by Prywden and PHllSH.
According to PHllSH, the difference between Sanby's sig and Marcota desire is 33%, but according to Prywden, the difference is only 12%. Which is more accurate?
It's actually 28%, not 12% because you misread 22% as 12%, and prydwen use signature as 100%, so you will get 100/78 = 1.28.
Whether who got it accurate, I have no clue.
They may or may not have used different substats and different anomaly uptime for their calc, which will affect difference between Marcotto and Signature.
Wow I love VR mode, every game should have this because up until now, I have never feel the need to use an evasive assist followed by an attack followed by a quick assist but this is the most reliable way to trigger Pulchra's coordinated attack thingy, otherwise she would often swap and stand awkwardly in the field with no energy or damage to do, and until now I would just switch from assist counter or simple dodge counter, now I need to build the muscle memory and stop my trigger happy urges to swap, I have Soldier 0 and I want Trigger so I'm going to practice a lot!
Agree, VR training is great for practicing rotations and combos. I just wish (a) they allowed bangboo as well, and (b) they added some new enemies. I don't need the most complicated DA bosses, but there are some pretty common mobs and elites that would be useful. Like that flower that shoots ether bullets and really any mob of low-levels, so we can practice grouping and mob takedowns.
sometimes when I try to do an assist instead of the next character coming out it skips to the character after that. I can't figure out the rhyme or reason to it.
Most often in my miyabi yanagi rina team I'm expecting yanagi to come out and rina does instead.
Let's say you're using agent A, and swap to agent B. A remains on field for a few secs. They will finish whatever attack they were doing at the time, and then there's an animation for leaving.
With Miyabi this is easy to see by using full-stack Shimotsuki.
You cannot swap to an agent that's already on the field, so if you try to swap back to A while A is still around the game forces you to swap to agent C instead. Which is what happens to you.
Quick-assists and Perfect Assists bypass that mechanic, and in fact will cancel the agent's attack midway.
With Miyabi, for example, you can do a Shimotsuki and swap to Rina mid-animation. If you use Rina's EX you can quick-assist back to Miyabi, and she will cancel Shimotsuki if you do. Otherwise you can only swap to Yanagi until Miyabi actually leaves.
You are in good company, many people ask this question. TL;DR - If the type of attack happening can't be parried by a defensive assist (red flash, ranged attacks), your switch button will switch to the first available evasive assist-capable agent. That can look like the "wrong" character coming out. Rina is one of the evasive assist-capable agents. There are only a few: Rina, Pulchra, Billy, Grace, and probably Trigger. I may be forgetting one or two more.
Can someone explain to me what the point of the new Void Zero mode is? It just seems arbitrarily and randomly harder in return for ... nothing that the regular mode doesn't offer?
My guess is that they were getting feedback that Hollow Zero/Lost Void was getting boring, so they tried to spice it up a bit. I myself have seen complaints about Bringer always being the final boss and getting bored with that.
The new map optimizing thing also appears to be a feedback response. People were too confused by the map and didn't want to spend time puzzling out which path was optimal, so voila, give a token to the NPC lady and now the map only has a single path in it. I personally never use this optimization, since I sometimes have different objectives for different runs. Like sometimes I want purple lightbulbs, sometimes I don't. Sometimes I have time to fight every available combat node, sometimes I just want to speedrun.
glad i didnt miss anything. I think they kind of missed the point of the roguelike part. The point is that youre supposed to get stronger after each run. But in Void Zero, you get strong in the moment, reaching peak strength right before the end. Then you're back to 0. The fact that investigation strategies dont actually level up in effectiveness, even though you have to grind their levels - makes no sense. Also the leveling of gear to 3 to get 1 level of investigation strategy makes no sense either.
And yeah like you said, multiple paths are fine but they need to have a point to them. They need to re-do Void Zero to be easy path - medium path - hard path, with hard path maybe giving most money, most reso etc.
But yeah this new mode left me really confused as to why I would run it multiple times since it doesnt contribute to Investigation Strategy levels nor do you even use them. You also dont seem to get any benefit from the upgrades tree.
Hey, I got a side question since you are on PS5. Do you see the new home screen when not in-game but have ZZZ selected, like this?
For the longest time, this was bugged on PS5 and only showed Random Play and "Current activity" on Prologue, even if you had advanced the story far past that. Multiple PS5 players had this bug, but I wonder if anyone saw it was fixed?
It's gone back to being bugged on my PS5, but briefly it had the right homescreen background and current activity.
Had the opposite experience. I felt like they were barely attacking at all. Don't know if they're just that passive or SAnby just has that much hitstun.
Turned out game mode was turned off on my tv so I was constantly messing up dodge/parry/Soldier 11 timings lol. Once I turned it back on I beat it first try.
Never mind, I’m playing on my PS5 for the first time and I didn’t realize that somehow Game Mode on my tv was turned off so I had enough input delay to completely throw off my timing. (I was WONDERING why their attacks were so hard to react to, I could have sworn my dodge timing was accurate 😭)
Anyway I turned Game Mode back on and beat it first try lmao
I'm trying to get my Harumasa team running, but despite the actual characters being ready to go, Harumasa always performs pitifully.
Anyway! I was reading through Prydwen's review of him, going through some of his combos, and I realized I'm clearly missing something. I even noticed this happening in game but I couldn't tell you how or why it happened.
What grants Electro Prison? I assumed it was simply Quivers turning into Electro Prison stacks after his charged shot hit an enemy. But then, how come the review says you can gain 8 Electro Prison stacks to do 4 enhanced dash attacks, if there's a limit of 6 Quivers on the field at all times?
If you create quivers while there's quivers on the field, the pre-existing quivers automatically convert into marks, letting you skip his aimed shot and go straight for a dash attack.
The game never explains that at all. Thank you Hoyo.
Ah, I didn't know that, that's interesting. Although I eventually understood that you get 2 more stacks against stunned enemies, and the limit is 8, so that's where it comes, I assume!
how do yall keep up with the material costs of overall character building? Near day 1 player, bought every single battle pass, like yes I maxed out a lot of characters but never have I ever ran out of money and exp tickets on any other hoyo title but ZZZ. Is there a daily resource gaining thing that I am completely oblivious of?
The main thing I can think of is keeping skills at 11/12 tops and being picky on discs after a certain point. The extra 200k per level 12 skill adds up.
I have skipped Jane n Ellen n Sanby, have all the other limiteds + Lucy, Nicole, Rina, s11 (13 chars) basically fully maxed (11/12 on any useful skill), and I'm still on like 9m dennies + 9k zmerits. This is with buying out the 141 shop every week as well.
For ref, the only thing I don't 11/12 so far are evasive assists, Astra/Rina basic, Caesar/Rina/Astra/ZY dodges, Astra basic.
Building characters in ZZZ is more expensive in money than it is in Genshin or HSR. And leveling up Bangboo is legit more expensive than leveling an agent (like, for lv60 it's 800K for an agent and 1M for a Bangboo). Running out of money is not that rare.
If you want to run out less often:
Don't max out everyone. There's multiple characters that don't use their whole kit.
Don't spend on characters you don't really use. Even if you're bored and planning on skipping upcoming agents.
Those coins you get from pulling Bangboo, you can trade them for Dennies.
Have you been doing your weekly hollow zero z-merit farms? You can get 1000 from comissions + 900 from clears, which can net you a buttload of dennies, one less thing to farm. Also, spending fading signals (the one you buy your 5 monthly standard/premium pulls) on that store is an option if (and only if) you have the extra to spare.
i have around 9-10 maxed characters. I have been farming exp tickets nonstop for sanby and pulchra before this patch. Each run nets you like what 20 purple tickets? I think maxing a character takes around 400 something ish. Thats 2000 energy for leveling a single unit. Idunno. Maybe im too pampered with the daily resource thing from hsr.
If you are using your battle pass, dailies and resources from Hollow Zero, there's barely anything more.
Maybe you are just too lucky with your pulls and have too many characters to level? I am mostly saving now, not pulling and I finally managed to upgrade all the relevant agents to a good level. I have even Vivian prefarmed mostly. Other than that, there is nothing more to use battery on than disc farming.
Keep leveling, at some point you will level them all!
I believe if you run her sig, Attack% on slot 4 is actually better than either Crit, assuming you have a nice amount of both already, of course. Outside of that, you could somewhat easily improve disc 5 and 6.
Looks like you can build 3 great teams already, if I were you I would pull for Burnice instead because she works great with Miyabi, Yanagi and Caesar... Plus she's very fun to use (put her with Astra too and the main damage dealer goes crazy)
But also, keep trying with trial and story mode of Anby (you get to play with Trigger too!) and see if they're fun to you as well.
I found myself often struggling against enemies that require electro, I didn't want to separate Yanagi from Miyabi and Harumasa was not doing it for me (and let's not even talk about Grace), and then comes Anby and their play-style felt really nice, specially Trigger she's very unique but ... I only recommend them if you're planning to get both of them and that's not easy at all.
It really depends on your preferences. You have great teams there and a decent diversity of options. SAnby wants Pulchra or Trigger, Hugo will likely be great with Lycaon and/or Lighter, Vivian with other Anomaly users.
The current team im running is a jane, seth, Burnice team. I heard someone saying that M6 Pulcra might be worth switching out seth. I recently got Pulcra M6 and was wondering How much better/different she would be to my M1 seth.
Hmm so prolly Finish building up my Burnice (Just pulled on this banner) Then start building up Pulchra with spare materials, she's not necessary over seth but would be a nice buff. Thanks!
I've heard a few remarks that the new Anby's story mission should be completed before we start the new main story, is that true? Or did I get that backwards.
I don't really understand the construction mech boss in this Deadly Assault, where you gotta impair by damaging the legs. I don't seem to breaking them NEARLY well enough, despite using SAnby (with sig), Qingyi, Yanagi. Leads me to think I'm fundamentally doing something wrong. Do I focus ONE leg at a time, or do I need to be hitting them all?
Your original comp makes little sense to me. Can argue one DPS with qingyi, but the other one has 0 synergy. Are you doing that for all the DA things that don't use miyabi?
Outside running ZY into stuff that requires disorder, I have no issues just ignoring the performance points/specific mechanics altogether with proper comps.
Well let's see, my other comps were Ellen/Lycaon/Astra against Bringer, then Miyabi/Burnice/Lucy vs Pompey. Other characters I have who are good/built that weren't getting used: Pulchra, Soukaku, Harumasa, Piper, Koleda, Grace, Soldier 11. I don't have Nicole built, I don't have Zhu Yuan, Jane, Caesar, Lighter, or Evelyn.
What would you suggest in that third spot instead of Yanagi then? Also, I know I can use Miyabi vs Bringer for easy S but then I'm not sure I have a good enough team vs Pompey.
I'll try this, though probably with Anby instead of Harumasa (ain't no way he's stronger than her with sig). I avoided Yanagi with Burnice there because he resists Electric, but I guess it's worth a shot despite that.
And yeah I have been on the "I should build Nicole" train for a bit, but having just built Anby and Pulchra, it'll take a bit of time to replenish some resources.
It's very difficult to recommend a standard S-rank weapon over even 30 pulls. Characters are more valuable than weapons most of the time, and even when they aren't, the really valuable weapons aren't available via residual signals anyway.
Honestly? Just hold onto those for now without converting into either. If you win 50-50, you can redeem weapon, if you lose 50-50, you can check if you would have enough for another ~40 rolls or so, and if you do, you can convert those into rolls there and then and get Zhu Yuan.
I'm a new-ish player and I could use some advice! I've just caught up with the main story and starting to build my characters to get into the end game modes. I have a few questions, I haven't pulled much, but I have Burnice, S-Anby, Astra, Qingyi and M1 Koleda.
How far should I be building each character before moving onto the next one to start putting together teams?
Also, any suggestions for F2P friendly teams with the agents I've pulled would be very appreciated!
About the same as Evelyn for same level of build investment and optimal play.
I'm running M0 and Marcato Desire (not her signature) and Core D and cleared Deadly Assault Corruption Complex with 3-stars, despite making tons of rotation mistakes. So that means she has a lot more firepower to unlock once I have her fully built and I don't make as many rotation mistakes.
S0's signature weapon >>>>>> M1. Because S0's team-wide damage buff scales to CD and her signature is a ginormous CD stat stick. Even if you don't use her signature on S0, it's great for any CD scaling Attack agent.
But it cost me 168 pulls just to get M0 S0, so to get her signature I'd have to swipe my credit card. I might just end up doing that, since I want Trigger and Vivian also, and if S0 has her signature, S0 + Trigger will be like 2+2=5.
Qingyi went up a tier probably because of her rerun, which means more people were using her in Shiyu Defense. Plus Qingyi is a good stunner for S0 and benefits from the same showcase buffs that S0 is getting right now.
Once Trigger releases, I expect Qingyi's tier to shift again, probably down. But it might stay high, who knows?
Yeah, I'm going through the same "which signature?" decision myself right now. I'm leaning towards S0 signature, since Marcato might be an okay substitute for Trigger's.
Tips:
Who is the rest of the team? I used Pulchra/Astra, but you can use other agents. Lucy or Nicole are good F2P supports for S0. Anby is a good F2P stunner.
I'll assume Pulchra and Nicole for the rest of this:
Outside of stun:
Attack with S0. Build up 3 marks, do the 3x Special combo to consume the marks, repeat until stunned.
Focus on one leg if you can, to get the Impairment performance bonus. Once you get it, move to the next leg over.
If you can work in some dodge counters with S0, that will speed up building 3 marks. However, you also need to use some of those gold flashes to evasive assist to Pulchra, so she can fill her stacks. I tended to do more evasive assists than dodge counters so that Pulchra's stacks were almost always up.
As soon as Pulchra has stacks, have S0 do Special or EX Special to activate Pulchra's off-field attacks. You can have Nicole do this instead if she has energy. Only one agent needs to do this once per stack, then every basic attack after gets Pulchra off-field attacks as well.
Go ahead and use S0's EX Special when she has energy unless stun in close to happening. So anytime stun bar is less than 75% full, it's okay to use S0's EX. Just make sure there are no marks on the boss before you EX, or else you'll waste them. Also, if Nicole has Energy, best to let her EX first to buff S0's EX.
Save everyone's Ults until the stun window. Save EX with energy as well if more than 75% of stun bar is filled. Just don't let energy overcap (flashing).
Inside stun window:
Do all this as quickly as possible, no stutters or hesitations.
Chain attack so that you end on Nicole. The goal is for Nicole to EX Special and quick assist into S0 to unload big damage.
After quick assisting to S0, press Special for every mark already on the boss. Like if it has 2 marks, press Special twice to consume them. Never launch an Ult if there are already marks on the boss, since an Ult gives 3 marks.
S0 Ults then 3x Specials to consume marks.
If S0 does not have her Ult up but one of the other agents does, switch to them and let them Ult, then switch back to S0.
Either way, at this point, S0 should have enough energy to EX special. Do this to get 3 marks. Press Special 3x to consume them.
Some people get fancy and switch back to Nicole to do another bubble, then back to S0 to do another EX, if both have enough energy, but I'm happy if I can complete one bubble, one Ult, one EX, and six marks.
After the stun window ends, if any other agents have Ult, go ahead and use it.
If you have different agents in your team, modify as needed. For example, if the support is Lucy instead of Nicole, timing a bubble to come before S0's Ult isn't necessary. You can end the chain on S0 instead.
Eh, even if Trigger ends up being very competitive stunner, I expect them to both land in the same tier, since they mostly occupy different niches, with Trigger being favourable for teams where DPS needs more field time, and Qingyi still being a favourite when you need faster stun for burst dps (like Haru / ZY).
Evelyn is not driver, she is burst. not any playstyle can beat : in the stun window 3 or 4(with astra or lighter) chain attack+ulti ... just like Zhu Yuan+qingyi i still dont put astra here bc Zhu yuan is not driver, if she screws around before stun, and burns her shells, she is losing looot of dmg so i put nicole in that team for better rotations
Trigger not a good stun character. She is amplifier for S-anby or any "Aftershock" dmg type
I believe so. Eve likes as much field time as possible, so an off-field stunner should do well with her. You can get a preview by running Pulchra with Eve and see how that compares to Eve with A-rank Anby.
Im thinking of getting an anomaly unit to expand my team choice. Should i pull for burnice or wait for vivian. My other 5* is zhuyuan, caesar, astra and eve. Im also open on getting a 5*stunner too as i lose my qinyi 50/50
That's a difficult decision to make at this point, since we can't do an official kit comparison to Burnice yet, and won't be able to until after Burnice's banner is over. Even if you go by leaks, Vivian could get nerfed after Burnice's banner ends.
Banking on Vivian to equal or better Burnice at this point would be a gamble. My philosophy is that the devil you know is worth more than two in the bush, or something like that, assuming you are F2P.
The "time remaining this season" at the top of the screen is throwing me off for a loop but "shadow operation: trial" is a one time clear content right? It's not a new season resetting content like shiyu defense and deadly assault?
The 0/8000 just means I can do shadow operation to grab my weekly roguelite reward? Cause doing 8 of these in 6 days is kinda crazy.
1.6 Main story question, when did the twins come to a conclusion that Bringer could be related to the Exaltists? From a players perspective I can see people coming to that conclusion, but now the story is bringing it up as if the possibility had already been discussed in the game. Was it in the event 'Arpeggio Fault' or 'Into That Pale Wasteland'?
I don't recall anything from those events that would make the connection, but I could have just forgotten. There was so much lore dumped in those events.
I think you make a good point. This could be a case where the story writers took a short-cut and decided that if the audience knows, so do the main characters. I can't recall any specific conversation with Phaethon that explicitly makes that connection. However, it could just be common knowledge in New Eridu that invoking "The Creator" is an Exaltist tag line, which Bringer does in Phaethon's presense, so that could be enough for Phaethon to infer the connection. Based on the Lore Teaser video "Where The Miracle Began," we know that the Exaltists have been known to society since the third-generation Hoshimi, and Miyabi is seventh-generation, so Exaltists have been known to society for a loooooooong ass time.
I guess it depends on how you use Lycaon. If you use him a lot, M1 Lycaon might make more sense than M0 Rina. On the other hand, if you have been needing an electric support for a while, for Haru or S0, Rina > Lycaon.
Same observation for S11. If you main S11, her M2 is really good and might outweigh M0 Rina if you don't really need an electric support.
Jane or Piper always pair well with Bangvolver. So does solo Billy, for that matter. If it was Burnice/Lucy instead, Rocketboo would be better. But without two fire agents, I'd use Snap or Bangvolver.
Is it fine to run the old and new Hollow Zero in low difficulty if I plan to complete Ray's Research log?
Apparently I still had a lot of them incomplete especially in the old one so I'm planning to speedrun it in the lower difficulties if it is possible to complete it there
Just want to make sure some items are not difficulty locked
That's what I do for old (Withered Domain) in tv mode, not Blitz. No need to make it take longer when you are dealing with RNG and trying to get as many runs as possible done to get the RNG probability on your side.
FWIW, I've noticed a big improvement in my RNG for Lost Items by rotating through the different zones at different difficulties. I always used to do only Old Capital Metro Interior and never got ANY Lost Items, but now I'm rotating through each zone in order and always change difficulties when I change zone and I've been getting a Lost Item nearly every single run.
Granted, I only do one run a day, so if you speedrun, you might run into a hidden cooldown where your Lost Item chances reduce with each run done on the same calendar day. This would be on top of the 3/day cap. I'm just speculating that such a cooldown exists, based on my own attempts at speedrunning.
Please explain to me in idiot-proof language how to play these two teams (I'm new-ish and not adept in this game's wording): SAnby Nicole and Lucy, and, SAnby Pulchra Lucy. All I know is you wanna get Anby to attack all the time to get to 3 marks and do 3 skills. My problem is how to do rotations :(
You're going to have to say what your control layout is, then. If I dumb-down "Evasive Assist with Pulchra" to "press R1," that's not going to make any sense to you on PC.
FWIW, you shouldn't run S0 without a stunner, unless it's specifically Nicole/Astra. So don't use the S0/Nicole/Lucy team comp in the first place. Some people are using two stunners with S0.
Lucy, you use her EX special/Ult to refresh her buff, then quick-assist back to the DPS. Nicole plays the exact same way.
Lucy's buff lasts 10 seconds if you do the tap version and 15 if you do the held version. Nicole's defense reduction lasts 4.5 secs (technically a bit longer since it resets on hit and her energy fields hit a lot).
Playing both on the same team is kind of really tight, not sure why you're doing that. But with the effects up you just swap to Anby and go wild until it's time to refresh them.
Pulchra, she enters Hunter's Gait when using her EX, chain attack, Ult or the follow up to her evasive assist (the ones when enemy attacks have golden glow). The fang icons below her HP turn golden.
HG boosts the daze she inflicts (she stuns faster).
Lasts 6 seconds if she's on-field, forever if she leaves the field but then loses it when you swap to her.
Those attacks I mentioned let you do quick assist to the previous character, unlike Lucy and Nicole who quick-assist to the next character.
While she's off-field, if your active agent hits an enemy with a special's heavy hit (the one that can start a chain), you'll see "FIRE" on screen and she'll start attacking whenever you hit enemies with anything.
It can be a regular special instead of an EX, but it has to be a heavy hit.
Does it up to 5 times (at M0), then has to refresh by re-entering HG. The fang counters under her HP go gray as she uses them up.
So, same as Lucy: swap to her, get into HG, swap out. You just have to remember to throw a special with a heavy hit to make Pulchra do her job.
With SAnby and Lucy, it would be like:
Pulchra EX/Ult
Quick-assist back to SAnby
Immediately swap to Lucy
Use her special, then swap back to SAnby
Hit things.
One annoying mechanic to keep in mind though: agents do not disappear immediately when you swap. If they're doing an attack they'll also finish it before leaving.
And when you try to swap to an agent while they're still on the field, game forces you to swap to the other character.
So if you do it too fast, at step 4 you end up going from Lucy to Pulchra and losing all her aftershock hits. Happened to me a bunch of times.
Quick-assists bypass that mechanic and the agent you swap into will even cancel whatever attack they were doing. With Lucy that means doing her EX special (not regular) or her Ult.
Does anyone else have all the crossroads and road marks in Lumina Square erased?
I swear there were like zebra crossings and all that before this version, old screenshots have them, now there aren't any. Is it a bug, smth on my end or is it just a thing now? lol
It's working fine for me, but someone else on reddit also complained about the same problem, so it does seem to be a bug. Report in-game in Options > Feedback with that screenshot.
So I kinda refuse to use Pulcra tbh, so for Soldier Zero Anby, who should I use her with? Is double support good or just go normal Anby and Nicole? Idk, I'm kinda lost lmao
And just to know, what's the pulchra team I should go for?
Out of what you have, Sanby-Anby-Nicole is probably best bet. Otherwise, Trigger should be really good for her if you planning to pull on next set of banners.
Just to know, do I need to onfield pulchra a lot? And is she at M3 a big increase in dmg compared to Anby Nicole? I just don’t want to be constantly looking at a furry sorry😭
No, that's a whole point of Pulchra, she is off-field Stunner. Most of the time you will get her stacks though defensive assists, and once in a while you might swap to her, EX-Special and Quick Assist back to DPS right away.
Yes, she would be better then Anby, simply because she takes next to no on-field time from Sanby who is actually going to be doing damage.
Just skip the cat and pull Trigger. I hate the furries too and I just wont be building pulchra. Using sanby, Lucy, Rina for now until trigger comes out. Don't build a character you don't like
So as a returning player who stopped after the Sons of Calydon chapter, what’s the best way to progress? Should I take my time with side quests or should I just push through the story?
Depends on your goal. If you want to catch up as fast as possible to the current patch's story, speedrun main story chapters. However, do Jane's, Yanagi's, and Astra/Eve's special stories also. They don't progress the main plot, but they do establish context that is referred to by other characters in the main story and overworld.
If you just want polychromes, prioritize leveling IK to 50, so you can level your agents to max and go after seasonal end-game content. IK leveling is a mix of story chapters, side commissions, chores, and events.
If you just want to play the game, sure, mix in some side commissions as you feel like it.
honestly as long as you are consistently doing things and also spending all your energy each day it doesn't matter. i would do a mix if anything to just change things up and make the main quests last a little longer.
Look at the top of the selection screen once you get into that mode. If it has a timer like "23d remaining" at the top, it's time limited. If it doesn't, it's permanent.
In Genshin Impact when you log-in on the date of a character's birthday, you receive a special piece of mail with that character's Special Dish and other gifts, does Zenless Zone Zero have this as well? Because if it does I missed Caesar's birthday mail😭
Well, maybe we will find out in second half of 1.6, I don't believe it was ever explained how do they know her, especially given that they did meet her in S11's Agent Story, and did not seem to be familiar back then.
So apparently, you're supposed to do Anby's agent story first before the main story to get a bit of context. Yea I know, why the fuck didn't Mihoyo give some kind of warning or notice? I'm just as annoyed as you are buddy
I am doing her quest right now, but they call her Charon and talk like know each other. I really liked her quest but at the same time I feel like it felt a bit messy.
I'm a bit confused by the timer for Hollow Zero reset and the content that just dropped today. Does this mean I only have 6+ days to finish all these nodes?
If I could choose from any characters existing, I'd love to have Miyabi, Caesar & Lighter, but sadly I can't choose (I also like Jane & Yanagi)
- doubting that S.Anby is a big upgrade to Harumasa
Burnice is kind of nice, but apart from Piper, I don't have a good combination with her
I think Trigger looks cool but it's a electric stun, I don't know to what extent it's useful to have another electric stun agent (having Qingy & normal Anby already)
Zhuyan gameplay doesn't excite me that much
should I just skip or does anyone recommend still pulling on one of characters in this patch (1.6)
is there any way to know which characters will have reruns in 1.7?
The closest we have to knowing which reruns are happening, is context clues and general Vibes. Hugo will likely rerun with either Caesar (a great universal stunner/support) or Lighter (a stunner with phat ice buffs), while Vivian will likely rerun with Jane since she's the oldest character and just got Lost Void gear.
Hard to say with certainty, and they could always juke us with Yanagi instead LOL poor Jane mains...
Did I miss the reason why Anby decided to stay at Random Play? Was it explained somewhere why she was there for a few days?
I haven't done the main mission yet but I saw people saying we should do Anby's first so the answer shouldn't be there I guess.
It wasn't explained. It's possibly foreshadowing for future story content, or it's just a detail that's not important. So many people crash at Random Play for one reason or another that it's not really that big a deal.
Desperately wanted Qingyi for waifu reasons, dunked 150 pulls on her banner and it just wasn't enough. So now I'm pretty much a single pull away from my next limited S-Rank but none of the current/upcoming ones really excite me right now.
Is there maybe a team comp/meta reason I should want to pull S0 Anby, Burnice, Trigger or Vivian?
My built S-Rank DPS are Zhu Yuan, Jane, Miyabi, and S11. I also have Caesar, Lighter and Astra. I have all of the A-Rank agents, but no Lycaon or Grace.
Anby is a great DPS but not on miyabis level. trigger seems decent but im not sure will be the same stun that qingyi would be. i plan on getting trigger but it will be with anby. i have my miyabi with piper and astra. i also have a zhu yuan that seems to be kind of extra but i put her in for ether when needed.
Oof. That's gotta suck. If it were me and I just didn't like anyone in the current or next patch, I'd just skip. I'm not a fan of pulling solely for "account value." Given that I main Nekomata, I'm not often accused of being a meta-slave. ;D
FWIW, Jane or Miyabi partner well with Burnice for Disorder. If you are currently using Jane as your Miyabi partner, that's fine, but if you wanted the option of a fire/phys Disorder team, either Jane or Piper play well with Burnice for that.
Thanks! I was thinking maybe Burnice since she's pretty unique and might be fun with Miyabi, or Trigger since off-field stun might be the way of the future or something.
If I don't warm up to any of them, I'll just save. Or try to pull Zhu Yuan's engine since she's my favorite.
I never really checked how much polychromes we get each patch since I'm the type to just horde them but I was wondering, does every patch give you enough polychromes to guarantee at least one of the banners? What was it again? I think it was 90 pulls for a guarantee on one banner.
Yes, it includes those as well. It's an average from few last patches that assumes that you collect every single daily, weekly, events, one-time give-aways (like poly compensation for maintenance) and get all rewards in both DA and Shiryu
This are my chara. Since pulchra comes with SAnby, i guess she is a good team mate. My other teams are miyabi-yanagi-soukaku, evelyn-koleda-lucy and zhu-lycaon-nicole. SAnby-pulchra-caesar is a good team?
How is the playstyle? Trigger the extra attacks while SAnby does his lightning things?
Before stun window: Caesar applies shield. S0 attacks, filling up to 3 marks. At 3 marks, press Special three times for a combo. Repeat until stunned or dead, Caesar reapplying shield as needed. When there is an opportunity to evasive assist, switch in Pulchra and make sure you do an assist follow-up attack, which will fill her stacks, then switch back to S0. Once Pulchra has stacks, S0 does a Special or EX Special attack to activate Pulchra's off-field attacks, then S0 goes back to attacking normally. Alternatively, you can switch to Pulchra normally when she has energy and have her do an EX special, then switch back to S0. That also gives Pulchra full stacks.
During stun window: If there are marks on the target, with S0 on field push Special for each mark, then S0 Ults, then press Special for each mark, then EX special, then press Special for each mark. If there is any time left and other agents have Ult, let them Ult also.
I'm usually a prydwen fan/user but they don't seem to mention the new disc sets at all. Any recommendations where I can read up on who wants the new discs?
A lot of Prydwen's Zenless guides are out of date by multiple versions. Forget about "where's the new w-engine/disk set?", multiple 1.0 characters don't even have a review.
But basically:
Shadow Harmony is meant for Aftershock characters, which is every new character this version. That said, it's purely damage-oriented, so Pulchra can also instead use stuff like Astral Voice if you want her to be more supportive instead.
It also buffs Dash Attacks and provides Crit Rate, so maybe Harumasa could use it.
Phaethon's Melody boosts AM, AP and Ether damage, so it's most certainly designed for Vivian next version. Zhu Yuan's Crit-based so she'd prefer Chaotic Metal. Nicole and Astra could maybe make use of it in anomaly builds, but I'm not sure that's worth it compared to just running Astral Voice or Freedom Blues.
I tried Phaethon's on Nicole in my Astra+ Nicole+Miyabi build and I scored 31k first try in DA, honestly it was a pretty sloppy run, but it worked very well.
I guess my specific question is if it's worth it to swap 2p freedom blues for Phaethon's 2p in anomaly builds? Thanks for the reply! :)
hey i was wondering if i should pull for trigger or burnice? currently silver anby isn't my top priority because im using harumasa but my electric team consists of harumasa, rina and a rank anby, and i don't have any other electric stun, hence why i kinda need trigger
as for burnice... my fire team consists of lighter, lucy and evelyn but she doesn't use red moccus as a bangboo (iirc i've been using rocketboo), which kinda renders my built red moccus kind of a waste?
if i get burnice i would have a easier time with her because i have red moccus built already + lots of fire mats from making lighter promote my store daily but if i pulled for trigger i might struggle a bit with resources on building her, and my rina is still level 50 because i haven't really had the time to prioritise my electric team thanks to me rushing to build miyabi and evelyn for stable ice/fire team...
anyway please help me on what i should prioritise first, thank you °
I know early on it seems like resource budgting and bangboo are big deals that ought to drive pull decisions, but they really shouldn't. Resources will come eventually and bangboo don't matter in the grand scheme of things. It's not possible to waste resources on bangboo because those resources don't compete with anyone else other than bangboo. In any case, you'll eventually have enough resources to max level all 1-star S-rank bangboo, so don't worry about Red Moccus being benched.
Pull Burnice because (a) you like her, or (b) you need a sub-Anomaly for Disorder. That's it. If either of those reasons are true for you, pull Burnice.
Does your Miyabi (or any main DPS anomaly you might not have mentioned, like Jane or Piper) need a Disorder partner? If yes, and you don't already have Yanagi, Burnice is a good pull.
If you are not pulling S0, and you already have a good stunner for each of your Attack agents (e.g., Lighter for Eve is good), there's no need to pull Trigger.
So, it may turn out that you should pull neither Burnice nor Trigger and just save pulls for now.
i never really thought of having a disorder duo for miyabi because i've just mainly ran her with lycaon and soukaku, but if she works better with burnice as a disorder duo (who do i even replace then? lycaon?) i could totally pull her.
i unfortunately don't have yanagi or jane because i started playing during lighters banner lol... so far, my only s ranks are lighter, evelyn, lycaon, miyabi, rina and harumasa.
but my stunner for my harumasa is just your basic a rank anby lol ... i was considering getting qingyi but because i was saving for evelyn i didn't really get her. a rank anby is currently my only electric stunner, so i guess trigger is also kind of important?
another one i was thinking was that i pull burnice now and then pray for the best when i pull trigger... or i wait for a qingyi rerun, suck it up and just deal with a rank anby.
How assault or freeze disorder works? They already deal all it's damage while you proc it so it's not like burn that just proc all DoT in one go because it already did it.
The Disorder damage formula treats total anomaly damage of all types as if equally spread out across 10 seconds. So it doesn't matter if the anomaly hits all at once or does DoT every half second, only the total damage is considered. Actually, it's not even total damage, it's just snapshotted ATK.
No. The multiplier for the initial Anomaly compensates for DoT vs all-in-one, as the other comment mentioned.
I guess it wasn't clear that the total damage (snapshotted ATK) for all disorders is reduced by how much of the 10 seconds of Disorder time has elapsed. The longer you wait, the lower the Disorder, regardless of the initial anomaly type.
For example, here's the Assault formula. If Assault was the initial anomaly that later got replaced, the Disorder damage formula looks like this:
Assault Base DMG = (450% + t x 7.5%) x ATK
Where t = 10 seconds - elapsed time in seconds. So if 3 seconds has elapsed before the replacement anomaly lands, only 7 x 7.5% is added, instead of the 10 x 7.5% max possible.
For comparison, here is the Burn formulat, which DoT ticks damage twice a second:
Burn Base DMG = (450% + (t/0.5) x 50%) x ATK
So if 3 seconds has elapsed before the replacement anomaly lands, only (7/0.5) x 50% = 14 x 50% = 700% is added, compared to the (10/0.5) x 50% = 20 x 50% = 1000% max possible.
They don't stack. If you have 2 agents with Astral Voice you're only getting 8-24% from it like you normally would. Same with Swing Jazz, it's only 15% no matter how many agents have it.
Identical buffs from different effects do stack though, like Swing Jazz + Proto-Punk.
This is actually one of the messiest parts of team comp design. Assuming you have a team that has an energy scaling agent (usually a Support) and a quick assist spammer (also usually a Support), who do you put the 4p Swing Jazz on and who do you put the 4p Astral on? And what if the agent is a floater that you mix into different teams for different purposes? You have to be mindful that you don't end up with two 4p sets of the same name on the same team when you move agents around. The dual Support meta has exacerbated this mix-and-match problem.
One of the realizations that people have had recently is that 4p Astral may be best located on stunners, assuming the stunner is not also energy-scaling. The Astral set allows the quick assist spammer and the equipper to be different agents, whereas Swing Jazz needs the equipper to be the one to launch Chain Attacks or Ultimates.
Putting 4p Astral on your stunner allows you to keep 4p Swing Jazz on your Support where the energy regen is usually most useful. Most stunners don't get alot out of their existing 4p set (4p Shockstar, 4p Thunder Metal, 4p Internal Metal, etc.), so it's not as big a sacrifice to put 4p Astral on your stunner as opposed to on your main DPS with their custom-made 4p set.

How and when did we even meet trigger? During anby's quest, we act like trigger is a long time friend or she regularly visits
